Do You Agree Or Disagree - Part 3
Hosea 4:1-6
Do you agree or disagree there is an important element missing in our society? We are not coping with all the stress of the age. Our brain and body is breaking down under the stress. In our overcrowdwd world there is a sense of loneliness engulfing us. Trust is becoming a thing of the past. We are also losing our sense of security. Our children are worried about tomorrow. Godless secularism has taken a heavy toll on our society.
Do you agree and disagree we are living in an age of constant crisis? Terrorist groups armed with modern weapons, living as a law unto them selves, and under the blanket of religion threaten the stablilty of the world. Population growth is soaring out of control in
many areas of the world, stretching resources to the limit and leading to further world instability. Pollution and other problems threaten to strangle earth’s life-sustaining ecosystems.
Do you agree or disagree we are living in a Biblical illiterate society?
Do you agree or disagree the alarming conditions in the world has caused many men and women to feel a deep sense of unease? They believe there is something better than what they are experiencing. Is there a trustworthy source for the answers to the questions they are asking?
It is the duty and responsibility of Christians to take the answer to the questions the people
are asking.
In our secular Western world is the existence of God is acknowledged. The question our modern society must answer is the same question past societies had to answer, “Is God real to us?” Just as it was in the past, in this present age we occasionally behave as if God is powerless to deal with our misdeeds, unable to forgive, free from guilt and set us back on the right path.
The author of The Letter to the Hebrews wrote to the first century Christians, "he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6). The patriarchs, prophets and apostles all experienced the
reality of God in a personal way. They never questioned the existence of God. Before we can take the good news our society needs to hear we must experience the reality of God in a personal way and never question the existence of God.
Do you agree or disagree the Scriptures are built upon the existence of God and His presence in the world? The Scriptures are reliable witnesses to many personal encounters between God and His chosen servants, the Old Testament prophets and later the first-century apostles.
Do you agree or disagree there are those in our society and church members who don’t know who God is? This knowledge has escaped the majority of mankind. The prophet Hosea lamented that the house of Israel had willingly lost and abandoned the knowledge of God (Hosea 4:1-6). When we read this passage it seems like the Lord is speaking to this present age. He is speaking to us.
Do you agree or disagree the prophets of the Old Testament tells us who God is? He is the Creator of the heavens and earth (Genesis 1:1) and human beings (Genesis 1:26-27; Acts 17:24-26).
Do you agree or disagree God has said there is a direct relationship between belief and behavior? The context of Psalm 14 is clear. Unbelief and corrupt behavior go hand in hand. But, the better we know and understand God, the better our Christian conduct is
likely to be.
God "inhabits eternity" and therefore is not inhibited by the physical laws of time and space. Yet He is quick to forgive and encourage those who are really repentant and desire in their hearts to do His will (Isaiah 55:6-7). When we achieve a private spiritual
relationship with God as our Father and Jesus Christ as our elder Brother, we know that They exist. We should not underestimate the power of God’s Word.
