IF I HAD WINGS, I WOULD FLY AWAY ...

1. I START THIS LESSON WITH A GALILEO THERMOMETER IN EASY SIGHT.
A Galileo thermometer works a little different from most thermometers.
There is a series of glass bulbs floating within the cylinder of fluid.
All the glass bulbs floating, have a temperature number hanging from the bottom of the bulb.
The lowest floating bulb tells the temperature, NOTE THE LOWEST FLOATING, NOT THE HIGHEST.
I purchased my Galileo Thermometer at Walmart, many Teachers’ Stores carry them.
OFTEN TIMES IN LIFE WE LET THE LOWEST FLOATING PROBLEM DICTATE HOW WE FEEL AND PLAY
GAMES WITH OUR EMOTIONS. Up and down, up and down.

24. O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

2. MAN APPROACHES LIFE AND PROBLEMS WITH ONE OF TWO ATTITUDES.
A. FLIGHT --- RUN AWAY
B. FIGHT --- STAY AND WORK FOR A SOLUTION.
C. WHICH ATTITUDE IS MOST BASIC TO MAN’S NATURE?
D. Man most usually desires to fly away from that which is difficult or hard.
Ignore the problem, and then divorce is easier than applying the heart and trying to solve the problem.
We must learn to face the giant THAT MOCKS US, and deal with the problems.
E. Every day we wait the giant will grow in the giants eyes as well as in our eyes.
There is a solution! You and God are the solution.
3. OFTEN TIMES IN LIFE WE LET THE LOWEST FLOATING PROBLEM DICTATE HOW WE FEEL AND PLAY
GAMES WITH OUR EMOTIONS. Up and down, up and down.
We can run and search for some great emotional highs and allow our emotions to dictate our faith, this is not faith.
Faith overcomes emotions.
We must try to invest our time and talent and energies into others, a hopeless individual needs you.
There is a pregnant young girl that is afraid and rejected, all she needs is love and attention.
4. LET US FLY AWAY? SOMETIMES WE NEED MORE INFORMATION THAN WE HAVE.
Seems there was a talented young man in the Midwest. There were terrible fires burning thousands of acres.
This young man was gifted with the camera and could capture the heart of crisis on film.
So a well known national magazine hired the young man to picture this disaster for their cover story.
The young man packed his bags, his cameras and film and left on his assignment of the fires at Yellowstone National Park.
The national magazine asked him to capture and show the heroic measures of the thousands of fire fighters.
When the young photographer arrived, he ran into a problem he had not anticipated for he realized that the
smoke was so dark and thick, that it made it impossible to picture the scenes from the ground.
The young man called into the magazine office and sought permission to charter a small plane so he could take
pictures from overhead.
The magazine made arrangements at the local airport and the call returned to him that a small plane would be waiting on
the runway.
He jumped into his rented car and away he rushed to the airport.
There was a real young man sitting in a small single engine aircraft. As instructed, the plane’s engine was fueled, and warmed
for take off.
The young photographer had his cameras and film ready and threw all the gear into the back-seat of the plane.
He closed the door and said, " READY FOR TAKE OFF!"
The young man proceeded down the runway. The plane was shaking and very rough.
When in the air the Pilot asked, HOW WAS THAT?"
The Pilot SEEMED VERY NERVOUS as the little plane lifted higher and higher into the wind.
The young talented photographer had not experienced such a jerky flight, but he requested the Pilot to fly over the park.
The photographer asked the Pilot to fly real low, near the fires.
"Why?" asked the Pilot.
"Because I am on assignment, I am a photographer, and photographers need to be close to the action to take photographs."
The Pilot was very quiet for a few minutes, and he broke the silence saying, " I thought you were the flight instructor?"
5. YOU CAN GIVE AND NOT LOVE, BUT YOU CAN NEVER lLOVE WITHOUT GIVING.
You only start living, when you start giving to God and you start giving when you start living for God.
A. I am told you can tell something about a person by what radio station they listen? What TV programs they frequent?
B. You can look at a person’s Bible and tell a lot about their dedication, but looking at their check book and their giving will
tell a big part of their story and record of love.
C. Is there truth to: WHERE YOUR PLEASURE IS --- THERE IS YOUR TREASURE?
6. TRYING TIMES ARE NOT THE TIMES TO QUIT TRYING!
A. While something can come from nothing, the average in life is that nothing comes from nothing.
B. Little comes from little.
C. It is so easy to feel so small and think we know everything, you even know how to rebuke those that have invested
everything while you give so little?
D. Don’t let your tomorrow’s be regrets from your nothingness today.
E. Blessed is the person who expects nothing, they shall usually get exactly what they expected.
F. Many are waiting for another seminar, another class, another excuse.
G. When God makes a man a prophet, the prophet is still a man.
God does not un-make the man.
7. QUIT FLYING AWAY AND PRAY AND WORK UNTIL THE SOLUTION COMES!
A. I promise if you get ready and prepare and work hard, that the preparation
will breed expectation, and expectation should breed preparation.
B. WHAT IS INSANITY? SLIP SHOD?
Define insanity:
Doing things the same way you have always done them and expecting a different results.
C. IS SLIP SHOD IN THE DICTIONARY?
Yes, it is doing things without any effort, shabby work, careless, slovenly.
Performing without regard to thoughtfulness. A lousy quality, describing a person or work that is not neat.
8. DEMAND A TITULAR TITLE?
A. Seems Jesus did little work with titles, he did some of His most meaningful work with towels.
B. Many in the church today want titular titles, they desire the honors and the titles while doing little.
C. Show me where deacons are doing the office of a deacon? Taking the menial loads off the pastor?
D. Show me where the singers have prayed and fasted and prepared for the praise to the Most High?
E. Show me where the Pastor has been on his face in the Presence of God and received God’s word for today?
F. Show me where missions is a higher priority than the pet dog?
9. DON’T FLY AWAY, FIND A REFUGE!
How many have quit on a BRINK OF A MIRACLE?
I am told that in areas where they have many storms, the trees grow deep, stronger roots.
10. YOU HAVE A GREAT POTENTIAL!
A. If God calls you, will He not equip you?
B. There are no sadder words of pen or tongue than the words what might have been.
C. Every ministry has a potential beyond their call.
D. It seems to me that wisdom likes what you have --- when you don’t have what you like? Want?
11. HAS THE DESIRE TO FLY AWAY, KILLED YOUR DREAM?
Proverbs 24:10 IF THOU FAINT IN THE DAY OF ADVERSITY, THY STRENGTH IS SMALL.
A. Is there a vision and dream in your family? It must start at home.
Before church dreams, there must be a dream in the home.
B. Do you dream?
It is good to hope, but if waiting kills the hope, you never had much to begin with!!!!
12. DYING DREAMS ARE REAL KILLERS! SLEEPING COCOONS?
Do you dream dying dreams?
A. A dying dream is wishing for golden towers, and ivory thrones, with glimmering illusions of mere fantasies while your
brain is idle, and you sit still under some shade tree.
B. Hasty climbers break many bones?
13. COCOONS, PROTECTIVE ENVELOPES OF THE SLEEPING?
DID YOU KNOW THAT THE MILITARY COCOONS EQUIPMENT THAT THEY WILL NOT BE USING IN BATTLE?
A. The military and Navy will spray a protective covering over equipment they are not going to use for a while.
Many Christians battle gear may be COCOONED!
B. Dying dreams live in their own sleeping cocoon as escapist from the real problems of real people.
14. GOD HELP US GROW BIRTHING DREAMING ABILITY IN THE FAMILY! AND CHURCH!
Do you have a BIRTHING DREAM ABILITY?
A. Birthing dreams don’t see things as they are, but as they could be.
B. Birthing dreams see beyond problems and obstacles into the realm of FAITH POSSIBILITIES!
C. Birthing dreams exercise self control and self discipline and overcome all test of times.
D. Birthing dreams know there is good protein in that NUT, and will find a way to crack that shell
and find life giving elements.
E. The best dream finds the bounds of the NUTSHELL and learns how to faithfully deliver the
potential hidden there in.
15. BE A DOER OF THE WORD!
A. I am so tired of the FAT ARM CHAIR QUARTER BACKS and those in CRYSTAL CATHEDRALS,
and those that criticize the faithful saying: WE HAVE NEVER DONE IT THIS WAY?
B. Better people than you have tried this and failed? WE CAN’T DO IT?
C. HONEY may be in every flower, but it takes a bee many hours to get the usable honey.
D. Doesn’t wisdom say, MANY STROKES FALL MIGHTY OAKS?
16. A POSITIVE THOUGHT WILL GROW POSITIVE RESULTS.
A. A positive thought is a seed for positive results.
B. HOW ABOUT ESTABLISHING POSITIVE THOUGHT PATTERNS OR HABITS?
17. IF YOU LEARN TO ENDURE THE UN-ENDURABLE, THEN YOU WILL GROW TRUE ENDURANCE.
A. That is worth repeating: If you learn to endure the un-endurable, then you will grow true endurance.
B. ALL THE MIGHTY OAK IS --- ? A NUT THAT STOOD IT’S GROUND.
18. I SERVE A GOD THAT CAN RE-WRITE HISTORY, AS WE WRITE GOD IN OUR HEARTS, HE WILL WRITE
US IN HIS HEART! IF YOU WILL, GOD WILL! IT IS UP TO YOU!
A. QUIT SPENDING TIME IN THIS I WANT TO FLAY AWAY MODE!
B. People that do the work of God will face heartbreak, pain, and suffering --- expect that and go on and do God’s will.
C. DREAM A NEW BIRTHING DREAM!
D. WHILE IT IS NICE TO BE IMPORTANT IT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE!
