5 WAITING LEVELS

Isa. 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Luke 21:19 IN YOUR PATIENCE POSSESS YE YOUR SOUL.
Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not
depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have
heard of me.
Job 14:14 If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
Lam. 3:25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26: It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
Psalms 37:7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him; fret not thyself because of him who
prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Psalms 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
Psalms 130:5 I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
AS EVERY DAY SLIPS SILENTLY INTO THE GRAVEYARD OF HISTORY ---
We must look where we have been? We must look where
are we going?
Time will try our soul? Time will try our faith?
Time will try our love? Time will try our family?
And time will try our faithfulness?
For if the cross is in view, --- If heaven is in
view,
--- WE CAN WAIT ON EACH OTHER! WE CAN WAIT ON GOD!
SO WHETHER YOU GET THE ANSWER YOU PRAYED FOR, OR THE
ANSWER THAT YOU
DREADED --- GOD IS STILL GOD, AND HIS GRACE WILL
PULL US THROUGH.
Worry is the dark room, where negatives are
developed!
PATIENCE AND WAITING ARE BAD WORDS IN THE CHURCH TODAY. PATIENCE IS ASSOCIATED WITH
TRIBULATION, AND WE TEACH TROUBLE IS BAD? GOD DOES NOT LOOK AT PATIENCE AND TRIBULATION
LIKE WE DO! The Bible teaches a different angle than we want to accept on waiting and patience.
James 1:3. Knowing this that the trying of your
faith worketh patience.
4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye
may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing!
We desire microwavable patience and tribulation. We
want instant coffee, instant oats, instant rice, and
instant experience with the HOLY! We demand
immediate results, NOW!
WE HAVE RAISED OUR FAMILIES ON FAST FOOD AND JUNK
FOOD.
We have rapid fire machine gun tongues and we want
rapid answers NOW.
LORD GIVE ME PATIENCE RIGHT NOW!
WAIT:
Are we waiting on? Or are we waiting for?
WAIT --- to stay in a place of expectation. --- to
serve. --- to be ready and available. --- to look
forward expectantly.
TIME is one of the wisest counselors of all, WAIT.
LET US BE DOING --- WHAT WE CAN --- WHERE WE CAN
--- WHEN WE CAN!
If not you then who? If not now then when?
Do all with compassion and understanding. Go after
your goal. Achieve where you can. Pursue where you
can.
Learn how to work and apply yourself. Then you
must learn to WAIT! We must learn to accept what we
cannot change. We must learn the beauty of waiting
and patience.
God’s instant men took many years to develop!
WE CAN CLEARLY IDENTIFY SEVERAL LEVELS OR TYPES OF WAITING.
Isa. 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall
renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings
as eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; they
shall walk and not faint.
THE EAGLE IS AN UNIQUE ANIMAL IN GOD’S KINGDOM! HURRY UP AND WAIT?
The eagle has learned to apply itself while it waits. God knew this and that is why Isaiah wrote 40:31.
I am told Indians watched the eagle as a warning to storms. When the eagle would soar higher and higher out of sight, the Indians knew a terrible storm approached, for the eagle’s defense is to rise
above the storm to soar until the storm passes by.
The eagle’s razor sharp talons, or claws will grow very dull. Many of the eagle’s prey will escape.
The beak will loses it’s sharpness, the eagle takes more force to bite through it’s raw meat.
The eagle’s feathers lack brilliance and luster, THE BIRD MOLTS.
The eagle may even gain weight until it hurts it’s flying ability. It appears the eagle is growing weaker.
The eagle will gets worn out and tired and it will look really bad.
One day the eagle will fly off by itself and not be seen for a while.
The eagle will find a safe haven in a cliff and it will land there and nest.
The eagle will start and will pluck every feather out by the shaft.
In what appears to be a great nervous shake, the eagle will rub it’s beak against the rocks until the beak
is hardly visible. The eagle rubs it’s talons against the rocks. The rocks have almost a sand paper effect.
The eagle looks very bad, no beak, no talons, and his beautiful feathers are gone.
AS THE EAGLE WAITS A NEW REGENERATION PROCESS BEGINS.
THE MOLTING AND THE NEW GROWTH CAST OFF THE OLD OUTER COVERING, AND A NEW
LIFE GROWS.
The new talons are very keen and sharp. They can pierce into flesh very easy.
The new beak is honed, sharper than a razor blade.
The new feathers sparkle in the sunlight. Their color and luster are renewed.
All of the excess weight that the eagle has gained is gone, and it is a lean flying machine again.
THE EAGLE WILL ONE DAY STEP BACK TO THE EDGE OF THE CLIFF. THE WIND WILL BLOW.
THE BEAUTIFUL RENEWED AND REJUVENATED BIRD WILL BE RESTORED AND FRESH WITH A NEW VIGOR.
All the physical and mental rust and erosive activities of life are seemly reversed, lesson #3.
The bird is returned back to a prior good condition.
GOD WANTS TO RENEW HIS CHILDREN.
While God’s children wait, they can think: how hard this is going to be?
They can think: OH, NO, MORE TROUBLE.
We can do nothing and sit idly by. We can waste the opportunity, or we can learn while we wait.
Lesson one addresses the difference in INSTINCT and LEARNING, it is instinctual to miss the lesson in
waiting.
GOD’S WAITING HAS RENEWAL POWER, REVIVAL POWER, IF WE USE THE WAITING TO COME
CLOSER TO GOD AND HIS WORD.
Waiting is not just directional it is preparartional.
We should be getting ready. Ready for what? Ready for anything!
We should be training our faith, our minds, our hearts as we wait.
Few learn to renew themselves. Few tank up as they wait. They are empty as they wait.
Many are launching ... Have you ever heard a WOE before the GO?
WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING?
#1 LEVEL OF WAITING IS SOARING!
Wow, I love spiritual soaring. This is when everything is going easy. Fast paced, going forward.
Ever notice flying is almost always forward, progressive?
We call the soaring period --- THE HONEY MOON TIME. Wow, I love the honey moon!
Things are easy. There is little resistance. There is peace and unity and love abounds.
We have hind’s feet and can jump over the problems.
This is OVERCOMERS and sitting on thrones.
We never want to come down, God let us soar forever, heaven on earth.
FOR SOME REASON GOD’S PLAN USUALLY IS NOT ALL SOARING.
I ALWAYS HAVE A MOUNTAIN TOP EXPERIENCE! ALWAYS ---
EITHER I AM ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN OR THE MOUNTAIN IS ON TOP OF ME!
YOU KNOW YOU CAN’T ALWAYS FLY!
#2 FLYING LEVEL #2 IS RUNNING!
Wow, running is so nice. I don’t run anymore, unless the building is on fire?
Running is symbolic of freedom, moving both feet freely, and your feet just touch the ground occasionally.
Watch a runner. His feet spring so fast.
Running also usually has sweat attached to it?
Again, one might can run backwards, but as a whole running is forward, progressive.
Hebrews 12:1 Let us RUN with PATIENCE the race that is before us.
NOT ONLY DOES ISAIAH SAY WE WILL RUN --- HE SAYS: WE WILL NOT GROW WEARY ---
Wow, I love running and not getting weary ... not being worn out, but staying pleasant and fresh.
As we wait upon the Lord, we must learn to RUN AND NOT GROW WEARY!
You know, we can’t always RUN!
#3 FLYING LEVEL #3 IS WALK! IF I MUST WALK --- LET IT BE ON WATER?
Eph. 5:2 WALK IN LOVE.
Eph. 4:1 --- WALK worthy of the vocation where you
are called.
WOW, I BELIEVE I WILL SAY THAT BACKWARDS ... WOW, I
LOVE TO WALK!
Do you know what WOW up-side-down is? MOM, --- now
that is the truth.
Walking is still a forward, progressive movement of the feet.
To walk is slow, but sure. It is a visible moving of feet along.
Sometimes, one must walk with BABY STEPS!
In baseball, at least a walk gets you to first?
Peter walked on water, not for long, but he beat those that sat in the boat and watched him.
Again, walking with God can come under a Divine Promise, and NOT FAINT ---
Have you ever walked unconscious?
Fainting is a SHORTAGE OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD --- Stay ’neath the Foot of the Cross!
You cannot always walk. You cannot always walk on water either.
#4 WAITING LEVEL #4 IS TO SIT! THIS IS A TEMPORARY LEVEL.
Micah 4:4 But they shall sit every man under HIS VINE and under HIS FIG TREE; and none shall make
them afraid; for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it.
It is OK to SIT, but you cannot stay sitting! Sitting can be very dangerous, it can become HABITUAL!
Many today are resting in the church on their buttocks.
I am told that less than 10% of the people at any given church do 98% of the work.
It is OK to sit and rest for limited times.
Others consider themselves as provisional workers, I will serve for the time being?
If you sit on your pew long enough, YOU WILL PHEW ---DISGUST AT AN UNPLEASANT ODOR.
Are you offering God an offensive odor? Don’t be a stench to God.
Maybe we should replace the pews with LAZY BOY RECLINERS?
Sit if you must, but there are more seeds to plant.
Everyone was sitting in town --- waiting for someone to do something...
Finally, 4 sick men get up and try, and God honors their effort with a miracle.
2 Kings 7:3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate; and they said one to another:
WHY SIT HERE UNTIL WE DIE?
I say: GET UP AND TRY, MAYBE --- GOD. Maybe God will.
#5 WAITING LEVEL #5 IS TO LIE DOWN!
Psalms 23:2 HE MAKETH me to lie down in green pastures; HE LEADETH ME BESIDE STILL WATERS.
Notice GOD MAKES this level. This is not laziness, this level is a time of Divine Restoration and Divine
Providence. God is calling this person to lie down for FOOD --- POWER, and God calls them for
WATER --- ESSENTIALS.
This comes by Divine Guidance, this is a time of healing and PREPARATION FOR THE ROAD AHEAD!
WE SERVE A GOD THAT KNOWS WHERE WE ARE AND HOW TO HELP US TO WHERE HE WANTS
US TO BE. God’s plan is for soaring, running, walking, sitting, and lying down --- BUT DON’T FORGET THESE
ARE WAITING LEVELS ESSENTIAL TO REAL SUSTAINED GROWTH!
WE MUST LEARN TO LIVE IN EACH LEVEL AND ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE FLEXIBLE AND FLOW IN
GOD’S PLAN FOR YOU TODAY!
