OVER COMING ROADBLOCKS
Learn to identify what THE PERSONAL OBSTACLE is!!! And overcome it.

WHAT IS A ROADBLOCK?
A road block is an obstruction in a path or course which prevents pasage.
Something that stands in the way of achievement.
A block can be something solid that is used to hinder, impede, obstrucle
a common action, goal, plan, or purpose.
Once years ago, I was traveling playing southern gospel music.
We were lost. I had the driver stop the bus, and I got off and approached this man for dictions. When he heard me, he turned and I could tell he had been drinking. I asked him, how do you get to the xxxxxxxxxxxxx Church.
He thought for a while, he scratched his head, and thought a little more.
There was a lot of road construction going on in the area.
Finally the drunk man said, Hey, buddy, I don’t think you can get to there from here!!!
Well, as I got on the bus, the rest of the group was laughing, I told them the bad news. I don’t think we can get to there from here.
We drove on a little ways, stopped again. I enquired directions and a man said, FOLLOW ME, I WILL LEAD YOU TO THE CHURCH.
In 3 minutes we were backing up and unloading our equipment.
What a difference, who you ask can make?
The drunk man knew where the road blocks were,
he didn’t know how to get around them.
Well, in God’s plan there is a way around every road block!
Every hinderance, every interference, every obstacle has a way of escape.
Progress is possible.
Your dream does not have to killed because there is a road block.
Look at the map, enquire of someone familiar to the area.
But don’t quit.
It is always to soon to quit!

WHAT ARE THE ROAD BLOCKS WE FACE?
IDENTIFY THEM AND DEAL WITH THEM.
GREAT IS HE THAT IS WITHIN US!
Let us ponder what ROADBLOCKS hinder our progress?
What roadblocks hinder my progress?
If we can’t identify the roadblock? The problem?
We can never correct it, until we identify it.
Our enemy wants all of God’s children to be sitting idlely at roadblocks,
to be retarded and hindered.
We must open our eyes and see, there is a plan to get us around this.
Then the Holy Spirit will teach us to be more than overcomers.
BASICALLY 3 WAYS TO GO.
1) Forward
2) Backward
3) Neutral
Define:
ROADBLOCK --- AN OBSTRUCTION TO OUR PATH OF PROGRESS.
Progress --- advance, to develop higher, better
forward movement,
Stumbling block: an obstacle to progress
an impediment (impedes, obstruction to belief or understanding
hindrance
Obstruction clog or block ---- hinder
Galatians 5:7 YE DID RUN WELL;

ROADBLOCK #1:
NOT SEEING YOUR MISSION, YOUR CALL TO DO THE WORK FOR MASTER ----SEE YOUR MISSION AND GROW IT.
Gen.24 Bridal search, Abraham sends servant.... ISSAC NEEDS A WIFE....
Gen.24:56 And he said unto them, HINDER ME NOT, seeing the Lord hath prospered my ways That I may go to my Master.
ROAD BLOCK #2: HINDERING THE BASICS.
There are rules to follow, not bypass.
Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the Eunuch said,
SEE HERE IS WATER;
WHAT DOETH HINDER ME TO BE BAPTIZED?
37. AND PHILIP SAID, IF THOU BELIEVEST WITH ALL THINE HEART, THOU MAYEST.
ROAD BLOCK #3: Two types of ways of dealing with ROAD BLOCKAGES;
1) Saul, son of Kish .... lie, deny, and blame.
2) David, son of Jesse .... Confess and repent....Psa. 51.
ROADBLOCKAGE #4: POOR SENSE OF PRIORITIES
Three classes of hindrances: Luke 14: 18 --20 They all with one consent began to make excuse.
1) I have bought a piece of ground,
I must needs go see it... MATERIALISM
a) It is already a done deal.
b) He does not need to go work it, just see it.
2) I have bought 5 yoke of oxen.... BUSINESS/PLEASURE
(oxen used for work and pull family for outings)
a) Go prove them? already bought?
b) Won’t it wait?
3)I have married a wife.... RELATIONSHIPS
a) Rearrange schedule, move up or back one week?
b) Look on licenses no expiration date once married.
ROAD BLOCKAGE #5: TRYING TO BE LIKE OTHERS
David and Saul’s armor....

I CANNOT GO WITH THESE, I HAVE NOT PROVED THEM....
ROAD BLOCKAGE #6: LIVING BY 5 SENSES....
Gen. 19:26 Lot’s wife looked back ....WHY? Allurements of heart/flesh.
Rom. 14:23 --- for whatsoever is not of faith is sin....
1 Tim. 5:6 --- she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
2 Tim. 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.
ROAD BLOCKAGE #7: DOUBT/ FEAR/ NO CONFIDENCE/ DISTRUST
Matthew 13:58 And Jesus did not do many mighty works there because of THEIR UNBELIEF.
Mat. 21:21 Jesus answered, Verily I say unto you, if ye have faith and doubt not, ...
ROAD BLOCKAGE #8 : MAJOR FOCUS ON MATERIALISM.
Matthew 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying,
he went away sorrowful:
FOR HE HAD GREAT POSSESSIONS.
ROAD BLOCKAGE #9: LOOSE LIONS....IMAGINARY MIND GAMES.
(exist in mind only, Imaginary.)
There was a man that was supposed to go to work in Jerusalem,
Prob. 22: 13 There is a lion without, I will get killed, I better not go to work..... Jerusalem was a big city with walls and safety, no loose lions there.
Our enemy will distort whispers.
ROAD BLOCKAGE #10: FAMILY DUTIES.
Luke 5:59 There was a man called by Jesus to launch out into the deep.... He explained to Jesus, I will be happy, let me first bury my father.
This is a fair request: until you find out, his dad is still a living?
ROAD BLOCKAGE #11: WEIGHTS
Many are reluctantly willing to lay down sin, the call must reach beyond.... Heb. 12:1 Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which DOTH SO EASILY BESET US, AND RUN---- Hard to run distances with a lot of weight.
ROAD BLOCKAGE #12: SEARCH FOR USER FRIENDLY, CONVENIENCE, IDEAL, BETTER SUITABLE, EASIER.
Acts 24:25 Felix reasoned .... WHEN I HAVE A MORE CONVENIENT TIME, I WILL CALL....
ROAD BLOCKAGE #13: STUBBORNNESS/ UNYIELDING/OBSTINATE/ HARD TO MANAGE--HANDLE
Stubborn and rebel are kissing cousins. Study and see if stubbornness does run through generations?
1Sam 15:23 identifies stubbornness as a sin and rejection of word.
ROAD BLOCKAGE #14 GIANT OF DISCOURAGEMENT.
Num. 21:4-5 come out of Egypt and get discouraged? Discouraged people talk bad about leaders and God.
Num. 32:9 Discouraged people refuse the Promise ...Land?
DISCOURAGEMENT BECOMES HABITUAL.
JOHN 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled.
Will we search and see the road blocks and what hinders us?
Will we apply what we find out and correct the problem.
You have a great potential.
But you must learn to identify the road blocks before you, we must know what impedes us and deal with the obstacles.
May you offer much fruit at Jesus’ feet.
