1 TIM 1:5 WHEN I CALL TO REMEMBRANCE THE UNFEIGNED FAITH THAT IS IN THEE, WHICH DWELT FIRST IN THY GRANDMOTHER - LOIS, AND YOUR MOTHER EUNICE, AND I AM PERSUADED THAT IS IN YE ALSO.
JOSHUA 24:14-16:
14. NOW THEREFORE FEAR THE LORD AND SERVE HIM IN SINCERITY AND IN TRUTH...AND SERVE YE THE LORD.
15) AND IF IT SEEM EVIL UNTO YOU TO SERVE THE LORD, CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY WHOM YE WILL SERVE; WHETHER THE GODS OF WHICH YOUR FATHERS SERVED THAT WERE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FLOOD, OR OF THE GODS OF THE AMORITES, IN WHOSE LAND YE DWELL: BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.
16) AND THE PEOPLE SAID AND ANSWERED, GOD FORBID THAT WE SHOULD FORSAKE THE LORD, TO SERVE OTHER GOD’S.
JOSHUA 24:31 AND ISRAEL SERVED THE LORD ALL THE DAYS OF JOSHUA, AND ALL THE DAYS OF THE ELDERS. THAT OUTLIVED JOSHUA, AND THE WHICH HAD KNOWN ALL THE WORKS OF THE LORD, THAT HE HAD DONE FOR ISRAEL.
I have retyped this as I think it is worthy to be preached, please give me feedback if this time each generations traits are clear, I am sorry, I have spent more time on this than any sermon on the computer,
for I want to get this thought out. We have tried again.
Dear friend, this sermon was delivered by M. Wayne Benson, I have developed some, changed some,I feel these thoughts are worthy of adapting to your situation.
You might have to use full screen to get 3rd generation, or print.
You must move quickly and not get hung up on any one point in delivery, I came back on Sunday night and dealt with certain areas in more detail.
Could you help me and pass this on to others, my love is to reach the pastor of small works, so some could print this and mail it to poorer preacher without the computer, all I ask for my and Linda’s time is to pass it on.
#1 Correlates for #1 in all three generations. So each trait is expressed by a number is corresponding to the same number of the other generations. So trait #3 is the same trait in generation #1, #2, and #3. I tried to send this in columns, but some computers refused to space correctly. Therefore, we have retyped traits in each generation and gave a corresponding number.
I like this sermon, I use three chairs, that fit over each other.
The first chair I put near the altar,
second 1/2 way back, third near the back of the church.
I have each trait put on a 8 1/2 x11 piece of thick paper,
written bold marker,
generation #1 in red, #2 in blue, #3 in black.
I then lay each trait of the generation in the chair it belongs, and show the distance from the altar, then when I get to Lois, Eunice and Timothy, I place the first chair on top of the 3rd chair and move back to the altar a reclaiming, then I put both chairs on the 2nd generation and place all three chairs on top of the altar and totaling reclaim the generations, I have used plastic lawn chairs and at the end of the sermon I gave the chairs to three of the church mom’s that have been claiming their next generations as a token to establishing all generations for the Lord to set in their house as a token and a point of contact. TODAY WE HEAR SO MUCH OF GENERATIONAL CURSES - WHICH ARE VERY TRUE. BUT GOD HAS A PLAN AND IT IS NOT THAT FAITH DECREASES FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION. THESE NOTES ARE TO ESTABLISH THAT THERE CAN BE GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS. WE WOULD LIKE TO EXPOSE THE WORKS OF DARKNESS AND CLAIM GOD’S PATTERN OF FAITH THAT IT MAY GROW AND INCREASE DAILY FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION. PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING NOTES.

DECLINING LEVELS OF FAITH
THE MORE YOU LOVE THE LORD, THE LESS YOU CONSIDER GIVING AS A SACRIFICE.
WE HEAR OF GENERATIONAL CURSES - WHY DO WE NEVER HEAR OF GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS
WHAT IF WE SAVE THE WORLD AND LOSE OUR FAMILY?
FAITH HOLDS TO PATTERNS - FAITH ALWAYS DECLINES - ALWAYS REDUCES UNLESS THE STRATEGY TO BUILD.
WHAT A GREAT LOSS IF WE GO TO THE GREAT HEAVEN AND OUR CHILDREN GO TO HELL.
FAITH ALWAYS WILL DECLINE - REDUCES
GOES FROM COMMITTED TO UNCOMMITTED - UNLESS
WE HAVE AN ATTACK PLAN.
GOD HAS A PLAN - PATTERN FOR FAITH TO GROW
THE BIBLICAL VERSE FOR GENERATION 1

BIBLICAL BASIS FOR GENERATION #2

BIBLICAL BASIS FOR GENERATION 3
JUDGES 2:10 AND ALSO THE GENERATION WERE GATHERED UNTO THEIR FATHERS; AND THERE AROSE ANOTHER GENERATION AFTER THEM, WHICH KNEW NOT THE LORD, NOT YET THE WORKS WHICH HE HAD DONE FOR ISRAEL.
Please know each number holds true to compare to each of the 3 generations, #1 corresponds to #1 in generation 2 and #1 to generation 3. I hope this is clearer than muddy water.
I am to list each generation’s traits 1 - 25 by the generation.
Generation 1:
1. Knows the Lord of the works.
2) Loves the 10 commandments.
3) Daily Bible study.
4) Strong prayer life.
5) Dead to self.
6) Certainty.
7) Emotions touched by God.
8) Looking for prayer, praise, worship, and strong word.
9) Personal experience.
10) Real repentance.
11) Loves people.
12) Very faithful.
13) Marries an on-fire Christian.
14) Talks daily of God’s goodness.
15) Stays on the alter until they pray through/deliverance.
16) Total commitment
17) Lift hands and shed tears in worship.
18) Brings others.
19) They carry their Bible.
20) Believers will.
21) Identity as a child of God (there is a plan/purpose.
22) Sees potential in others.
23) Wears good clean clothes.
24) Tither and offering giver.
25) TV as a tool and sets limits.
GENERATION #2 TRAITS:
1) Knows the works of the Lord.
2) The 10 commandments are hard and grievous
3) Reads promiser verses and listens to tapes.
4) Prays in crisis.
5) Must find self.
6) Compromise.
7) Tells stories of how Mom and dad were touched of the Lord.
8) Looking for a church with a good program.
9) No personal experience, just the experience of their parents. 10) Sorry they got caught.
11) Sees people as hypocrites and only accepts own.
12) Skips a lot of services, attends Sunday, AM.
13) Marries out of the faith.
14) Tells stories of Mom and dad worship.
15) Psychology.
16) Half hearted dedication.
17) Desires acceptance, no public expression of worship.
18) Non-offensive, you take care of yourself and I’ll take care of myself.
19) Uses a pew Bible.
20) Lack of will.
21) Identity crisis (who am I?)
22) Acceptance of own kind.
23) Color coordinated, concerned with outward appearance.
24) Occasionally gives if they see a need.
25) TV acceptance of lower moral values.
GENERATION #3 TRAITS:
1) They know not the Lord nor the works of the Lord.
2) The 10 commandments are optional suggestions of the old crowd.
3) Reads self-help/educational/entertainment/romantic books.
4) No prayer life. Calls on 1st generation in a crisis for prayer.
5) Self-centered, focus (give me now).
6) Rebellion. (There is no absolute proof)
7) Don’t tell me those old stories, if they were true why didn’t you? Emotional at ballgames.
8) Social all acceptance. Sinner friendly.
9) Total apathy, agnostic (don’t know?)
10) Blame others for the way they are/no change.
11) The whole world are religious pretenders and hypocrites.
12) Comes on special occasion (to please others)
13) Marries because of sexual encounter/social/financial reasons.
14) If old time stories are true, why didn’t you?
15) Counselling/self-helps/use of drugs and alcohol to alter moods.
16) Total rebellion.
17) Concerned for save the seals/ashamed of public Christianity. 18) Do your thing, I’ll do mine.
19) Has nursery rhythms/Barney/Sesame Street.
20) Self-willed (if it feels good.
21) Confused, blame the whole world/parents/schools (sorry old world)
22) Exclusive, us 4 and no more.
23) Must have brand name/designer clothes.
24) A taker (lives on credit).
25) TV + VCR + satellite dish = free expression/helps family understanding.

SO WE CAN CHOOSE GENERATIONAL CURSES WHICH WE HEAR ALL THE TIME, OR WE CAN ESTABLISH GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS - IT IS UP TO YOU!
