Breakthrough III - Bad Decision’s Can’t Stop You
1. Confession of Faith: “I am a possessor of the promises of God.
1A. Don’t look at other’s or be discouraged if others don’t act. Don’t look at how many shows up
for church. Know that God’s promises to you are true.

Deut 7:22-23
22 And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.
23 But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. (KJV)

Rom 3:21-23
21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, (remember last week - John 3:16/1 John 5:1,4) to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (NKJ)
Last week we saw that God so loved the world that He gave Jesus so that whoever would believe on Him should not perish in this earth or eternally, but have eternal life now in this world continuing through eternity.
In the atmosphere of the service when someone brings a message of the love of God there is a “renewing” desire that is birthed within.
Especially to those who have been Christians for so long.
We all know that God loves us
We all know that Jesus was sent for us
We all understand the whole message that was delivered last week.
However, even though we understand it. When the Spirit of God moves as it did last week, while we are hearing how much He loves us.
There is a conviction in areas where we have slipped back from His will.
No doubt there were many here who said, “Lord, this time I will not fail you.”
“Lord, this time I will pursue you more than I have ever pursued you before.”
And as we come around this alter and we brought our request to the Lord for the area of breakthrough that we need in our lives
I am sure many made commitments, dedications, and said within themselves, “This time is different - I will continue until I receive.”
And then somewhere during the week you blew it!
- You said something ungodly
- You did something ungodly
And then the thoughts started rolling in, “Why would God ever give me my breakthrough, I can’t keep it right for 2 days.”
Rom 3:22-23
22 ...through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (NKJ)
Don’t misunderstand me:
It is not all right to sin. In fact, the church has become complacent in calling sin, sin.
We need to realize when we sin and correct it, not justify it.
Paul said,
“There is no difference; for all have sinned”
Who is there no difference between?
If there is “no” difference then there is “no” difference
That means there is no difference between me and you
between this side and than side
or between Paul and us.
Paul was not perfect. Even in the prime of his ministry he had to have repented in areas of his life.
He tells us in Phil. 3:13 that he had not apprehended, but kept pressing toward the goal of being Christ like.
In Romans 7 he tells us that his members war and continually fight between doing what he wants and doing what he is suppose to do.
“There is no difference; for we all have sinned”
King David sinned in the middle of his ministry - but He still possessed what God had for him.
Peter denied Christ at a critical point, but he still possessed what God had for him.
As Saul, Paul killed and persecuted the church but still became the chief of the Apostles.
What is the key here because there were many
who made poor decisions and lost everything.
It is not the fact that you make a poor decision - it is what you do afterwards.
Each one of these people when confronted with their sin turned to God and not away from Him.
>Don’t think that if you made a mistake - if you didn’t act perfect that you have jeopardized your right for breakthrough
I Jn 1:9
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)
This is not a license to sin. But we also need to realize that we are not perfect and we will make mistakes -
Luke 15:11-24
11 ...A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
>Very difficult question - how did you get where you are today - in need of such breakthroughs?
>Poor decision - on your own?
>When you are using what you are in control,
lack will present itself.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
>What is the result of this man’s need?
He sought the answer of the world.
We lose our financial freedom our confidence is
in debt.
We lose our ability to walk in complete health our confidence is in the doctor.
17 And when he came to himself, (where we were at 2 weeks ago) he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father...
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
>In every situation He is waiting for us to come to Him.
>He is a God of restoration
>He realizes that we have all sinned - we need
to be quick to confess that sin to Him.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was , and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. (KJV)
Closing:
Realization that we have all fallen short, but we all have the opportunity to turn those short-comings into the reality of the promise God has set before us.
