#2. WHO AM I? MY LIGHT IS SO SMALL (Part 2)

YOU MAY NEVER KNOW HOW IMPORTANT WHAT YOU DO, OR WHAT YOU REFUSE TO DO COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE. NOBODY SEES WHAT YOU ARE DOING? I NEVER RECEIVE MUCH APPRECIATION OR THANKS FOR WHAT I DO? WHO CARES?
Zechariah 4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
Zechariah 4:10 (NLT2) Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” (The seven lamps represent the eyes of the LORD that search all around the world.)
I HAVE HEARD SOME SAY THEY DID NOT WANT TO BE A SMALL LIGHT BULB IN A COLD REFRIGERATOR. I WANT TO BE A STAR. I WANT TO BE RICH. I WANT TO BE POWERFUL. I WANT TO BE A BOSS. SERVANT IS MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE MORE OFTEN THAN LEADER! MANY MIRACLES IN THE BIBLE WERE SET IN ACTION BY LITTLE PEOPLE. WHO? WHO IS IMPORTANT TO BIRTH MIRACLES?
WHO? WE DON’T KNOW WHO? WE DON’T KNOW HER NAME --- THERE WAS A NO NAMED SERVANT GIRL!
2 Kings 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper. 2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife. 3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy. 4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.
WHO? WHAT ARE YOU DOING THAT IS SO IMPORTANT? CHASING DONKEYS? LEAVE CHASING DONKEYS? HE COMES HOME THE FIRST KING OF ISRAEL?
1 Samuel 9:3 And the asses of Kish Saul's father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.
WE CAN VISIT THE PREACHER WITHOUT A GIFT?
1 SAMUEL 9:7 Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we? 8 And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.
GOD TELLS SAMUEL GET READY THE NEW KING IS COMING.
1 SAMUEL 9:15 Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying, 16 To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.
17 And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.

WHO? WHO? WOW, THAT HURTS! QUIT BEATING THE DONKEY! THE LORD GOD CAN USE ANY THING HE WANTS… WHO? A DONKEY?
Numbers 22:23 And the donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way. 24 But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side. 25 And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall: and he smote her again. 26 And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
WHO? A DONKEY IS SMARTER THAN THE FALSE PREACHER.
Numbers 22: 30 And the donkey said unto Balaam, Am not I thine donkey, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay. 31 Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face. 32 And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine donkey these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me:
WHO? GOD USES A ROOSTER TO TELL PETER? PETER IS BROKEN AND REPENTS.
Matthew 26:75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
WHO? YOU DID NOTHING AND TALK ABOUT SOMEONE THAT DOES? WHO? WHO WAS MARY? THE MARY IN THIS STORY IS NOT JESUS’ MOTHER. THE RELIGIOUS CROWD KNEW HOW DIRTY AND BAD MARY WAS…
Luke 7:36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat. 37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. 39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. 40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. 41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. 42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? 43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. 44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. 45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. 46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
WE FIND MARY THREE TIMES AT JESUS’ FEET FOR SEVERAL DIFFERENT REASONS.
1 MARY COMES TO JESUS TO LEARN.
Luke 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
2. WE FIND MARY COME TO JESUS TO FIND PEACE AND COMFORT.
John 11:32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
3. MARY MAY NEVER BE THE RELIGIOUS CROWD’S MOST FAVORITE PERSON.
Mark 14:8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
John 12:3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
JESUS TELLS ALL, JUDAS SAYS WHY WASTE THIS MONEY? JESUS TOLD THEM THIS WOMAN’S LOVE WILL BE MADE KNOWN AROUND THE WORLD.
Mark 14:9 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
CONCLUSION: WHO AM I ? WHO AM I THAT A KING WOULD BLEED AND DIE FOR? WHO AM I THAT HE WOULD PRAY NOT MY WILL, THINE LORD? THE ANSWER I MAY NEVER KNOW, WHY HE EVER LOVED ME SO. BUT TO AN OLD RUGGED CROSS HE GOES, FOR WHO AM I? We must trust God. God has a plan and he needs not explain to us, by faith we understand GOD USES THOSE THAT LOVE HIM AND LOVES PEOPLE.
