We are All Crazy!
I heard a saying once that tickled my brain. It says: We are all crazy, just some hide it better than others!
33% Crazy?: It’s said that 33% of the people have mental illness, that’s 1 in 3!
Do you know how to detect who’s crazy? You look to your left to see if they are crazy, then look to your right to see if they are crazy. If neither of them look crazy then it’s probably you!!!
Or you can listen to the voices in your head that tell you that you’re not crazy!
I know a lot of you believe in me and I appreciate that. But it also sort of scares me, because I always knew I was real.
Everyone is crazy and everyone is sinful: Just as it is to be crazy, it is to be sinful. We are all sinful, just some hide it better than others!
Some people even like to say that they don’t sin and that they have never sinned! That’s crazy!
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:10 “There is no one righteous, not even one.
1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
So therefore, we are all capable of sin!
Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
How is it that some people can be REALLY sinful? Some wonder how Hitler could have done what he did! Some wonder how the worst murderer could have done what he did! Do you realize that we all are capable of the same only for some reason we stop ourselves from doing it!!! Maybe it is that God helps us not do it I’d like to believe, but some people don’t stop and go on and murder someone! Seems unbelievable that anyone could do it! That’s the sin of Cain!
So what’s actually in our hearts?
Mark 7:21-23
For from within the hearts of men come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, / greed, wickedness, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, arrogance, and foolishness. / All these evils come from within, and these are what defile a man.”
Murderous cats and crazy dogs! Oh my!!! I think people who own cats are crazy! I apologize if I hurt any feelings, but… Have you ever seen a cat staring at you? Yeah, you know he wants to murder you! Eek! Why would you have a murderous cat as a pet? I’m more of a dog person as they are crazy sure, but they don’t look like they want to kill you all the time! OK, yeah maybe some do, but all cats do! But yeah, there are people like that too! When you look at them, you know something crazy is going on upstairs as if they are a cat person, and not a person who owns cats but a person who is a murderous cat and it’s best just to get away from someone like that! Possessed? I don’t know but yeah, just get away from them!
Don’t provoke Crazy drivers! There are some crazy people out there! You know, like when driving, it’s probably best not to honk or provoke people! Most people I’d like to think are sane but you sure don’t want to meet up with someone who isn’t so best not to poke the bear probably! Eek!

Like I have this crazy neighbour came over and aggressively rang my doorbell at 3 A.M!
It almost made me lose control of my jack hammer!
Our outsides vs our insides? So on the outside, we take a bath or a shower, put on nice clothes, some of you slather on a ton of makeup, and we put on a big smile! … But what are we really? We are desperately wicked and capable of serious evil! We are dangerous!
Matthew 23:27
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.
Whitewashed Tombs! We look all goody goody on the outside but we are evil evil on the inside. It ought not to be that way! We should clean up on the inside too and be goody goody on the inside too! We shouldn’t be like the whitewashed tombs that have dead man’s bones inside that Jesus talked about! Are there cobwebs upstairs or bats in the belfry? Yeah people are crazy!
Lord, not me! No, no, preacher not me! Isn’t that similar to what Peter said to Jesus: No Lord, not I and then what did He do? What did Judas do? What did they all do - they scattered and denied Christ!
It’s our nature to be this way! But what’s the problem? We can’t fix it ourselves! It’s not in our nature! It’s crazy to think you can fix yourself by yourself without Jesus’ help!
Romans 8:7
because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
Romans 7:18
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
Only Jesus can make us sane and righteous! Only Jesus can save us! The model prayer says: Lead me not into temptation but deliver us from evil! Save us from this crazy world! Save us from our crazy selves, our evil selves!
Genesis 6:5
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time.
Punishment for our crazy sinful behavior! But because we won’t stop sinning, and because God knows sin is killing us, He loves us He punishes us, sometimes severely if He has to to try to get us to stop! Can you believe that some people were so crazy and sinful that God sent a flood to wipe them out and sort of reset? We know He won’t send a flood again but we know what happens at the end of the age, the end times! If you know being that way brings punishment why would you keep down that path?
Isaiah 1:5-6
Why do you want more beatings? Why do you keep rebelling? Your head has a massive wound, and your whole heart is afflicted. / From the sole of your foot to the top of your head, there is no soundness—only wounds and welts and festering sores neither cleansed nor bandaged nor soothed with oil.
If you’re into some weird sin, you better stop or punishment is coming! That’s crazy not to stop when you see the warnings coming!
Not only punished, but if you keep doing bad things you might even “fall asleep” so to speak for not straightening up and flying right.
1 Corinthians 11:28-30
28 Each one must examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
So the progression that we know is that our heart is sinful, desperately wicked, and is full of evil. That evil gives birth to sin and sin ends up killing us.
James 1:14-15
But each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed. / Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
The fate of this crazy sinful world? It’s crazy to think this evil is in every single one of us. The bible tells us the fate of the whole world even, that people with wicked hearts (all of us), became more and more darkened in our thinking and in our hearts, they all turned away from God, and died. How foolish of them, right? And yet we are all doing the same!!!
Romans 1:21
For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts.
The remedy the antidote? What’s the flip side to that? Don’t let your heart grow cold. Don’t let it turn dark! Don’t turn away from God. Don’t die! Live!!! Draw close to God and He will draw close to you! Ask for forgiveness and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness! God is Love! God sent His Son to save us because He loved us! Choose to Love! Turn your eyes upon Jesus!
Matthew 24:12
12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Love is the antidote! God loved us so much that He wished that none should perish. He loved us so much that He sent His son to die for us so that we wouldn’t have to die and that we could be redeemed from our cold wicked hearts.
Destiny for the saved: In the future for those who are saved, we will get a new heart, and a new spirit, and we will get a new life! Heaven will be wonderful!
Ezekiel 36:26
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
So guard your heart - let Jesus live in your heart - don’t let evil live in your heart!
Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow springs of life.
Destiny for the lost: Isn’t it crazy to know that so many on this planet have failed - and they let evil overtake them - and they let sin eat them from within and destroy them?! Isn’t that crazy?
How will you be? Will you allow yourself to have that same fate and let evil overtake you?
Are you that crazy when your life is at stake and you are in jeopardy!
(This is not a game show!)
Or will you turn to the one who can remove your sins as far as the east is from the west and save you so that you can live that good abundant life that He promises? I hope you will turn to Jesus before it is too late! That’s the most sane thing you can do!
