DO WE KNOW ROBIN WILLIAMS?
He lived from 1951 to 2014 (63). His estimated worth was over 50 million dollars. He won the Oscar Award, he was successful. He was a great comedian known around the world. In 2014, ROBIN’S FUNNY HUMOR ENDED IN SUICIDE BY HANGING. All his humor hid a deep secret of a broken man.
Robin said: I think the people who have been through the most sadness are the ones who always try their hardest to make others happy because they know in their flesh what it is to feel empty and depressed and they don’t want anyone else to feel that way. (EMPTY---DEPRESSED)
WAIT: to take some time to happen, remain, to hang on, to allow time to go by, to stay, to linger, DELAYED ACTION, PATIENT, to stay in place, pause.
WAIT: to serve, to meet the needs, to depend on.
TEXT: 1 Timothy 5:6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. (SELF-INDULGENT, PLEASURE)
RENEW ME LORD. TEACH ME LORD! TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO HAVE A GOOD DAY. WHERE IS OUR HOPE? WHERE IS OUR TRUST? HAVE YOU EVER LOST YOUR LIFE BY HOARDING AND KEEPING…
Life is 10% what happens to us, and 90% what our words, actions and attitudes bring. In our search for happiness we chase PLEASURE. Pleasure is not a good goal. Pleasure is like a butterfly, the more you chase it, seems the more obstacles we face. We are headed toward wisdom when we learn that OBSTACLES might just be a great OPPORTUNITIES. Life is all about CHOICES AND ACTION. It is easier to react to problems than it is to ACT BY FAITH. TEACH ME LORD TO WAIT!
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
A GREAT ARTIST STARTED WORKING ON A LIFE SIZE HORSE, IN PATIENCE HE WORKED MANY MONTHS.
He purchased the best marble available and the best tools. He started his work in private. He worked for months carving the horse out of the marble slab. He refused to allow anyone to see his work until it was completed. The day finally came when he unveiled the MASTERPIECE. There was a crowd of people gathered around as the artist had the veil removed from his work. The crowd marveled at how great the work was. The horse’s head and nostrils were detailed. Even the veins in the neck and legs were so real looking. Everyone stood in silence and marveled at the MASTERPIECE. Someone broke the silence with a question. HOW DID YOU DO IT? HOW DID YOU MAKE THIS MASTERPIECE? The artist stepped forward to answer the question. HE SAID: “IT WAS EASY. I TOOK THE HAMMER AND CHISEL AND I KNOCKED OFF EVERY PIECE OF MARBLE THAT DID NOT LOOK LIKE A HORSE! Maybe God is trying to MAKE US LIKE HIM? BE PATIENT, LEARN TO WAIT.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING? HEALTHY EXERCISE:
Let us talk exercise? Jumping conclusions. Pitching temper fits. Running down others. Finding fault. Climbing down others’ throats. These things are not healthy.
THE GREAT GOD OF THE UNIVERSE IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS THE “I AM, I AM THAT I AM.” LET US LEARN TO WAIT.
Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
NOT I WAS! NOT I WILL BE! GOD IS A GOD OF I AM!
*JEHOVAH JIREH: GOD IS THE PROVIDER
*JEHOVAH RAPHE: GOD IS OUR HEALER
*JEHOVAH SHALOM: THE GOD OF PEACE AND TRUST.
THERE IS A SPIRITUAL BATTLE GOING ON, DANIEL CAN NOT UNDERSTAND THE WAIT?
GOD ANSWERED DANIEL’S PRAYER ON THE FIRST DAY. DANIEL WAS A CAPTIVE IN BABYLON. HE WAS FAITHFUL TO PRAY AND WAIT. HE SERVED GOD FAITHFULLY. DANIEL DID NOT UNDERSTAND THAT WAS A DELAY IN THE HEAVENLY ARENA .
DANIEL PRAYS FOR 3 WEEKS, 21 DAYS OF PRAYER--- GOD HEARD DANIEL’S PRAYER THE FIRST DAY. --- IT MAY SEEM LIKE NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. GOD WAS NOT SILENT --- THE ANSWER WAS ON THE WAY. GOD IS NOT SLOW …WAIT!
Daniel 10:10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
THERE IS A LESSON FROM FARMERS… PLOW TODAY? PLANT TOMORROW? THE FRUIT WILL COME IN DUE TIME! HAVE PATIENCE.
James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
THEY THAT WAIT UPON THE LORD--- EVEN WHEN YOUTHS FAINT --- THEY THAT WAIT.
Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
GOD DOES NOT ASK US TO UNDERSTAND --- BUT THE BIBLE ASK US TO TRUST GOD COMPLETELY WHILE WE WAIT.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Psalm 37:1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
LIFE IS A PROCESS. IN THE PROCESS OF SPIRITUAL MATURITY WE MUST LEARN TO WAIT…
THERE ARE MANY LESSONS FOR MOSES TO LEARN: 1. At Momma’s knees; 2. In Pharoah’s palace: got it made. 3. A.P.B. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. 4. The lessons in the backside of the desert… take up for the underdogs. 5. Persistence-don’t quit --- life is not easy. 6. I am a no body. 7. Walking in sheep stuff. 8. GETTING UP AND NEVER BEING THE SAME… RECOGNIZE THE BURNING BUSH; 9. Moses accepted an attitude adjustment --- no excuses, I NEED GOD. 10. LIFE IS NOT ABOUT ME --- THE GREAT I AM, IT IS ALL ABOUT GOD. BE PATIENT IN GOD’S PLAN!
WAIT! WAIT TOGETHER! MANY TIMES GOD’S BLESSINGS ARE NOT INSTANT, WE MUST PATIENTLY WAIT.
Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
CONCLUSION: DO YOU KNOW THE REALITY OF LIFE IS REVEALED WHILE WE PATIENTLY WAIT? YOUR MATURITY LEVEL WILL SHOW WHEN YOU DON’T GET YOUR WAY, WHEN YOU DEMANDED YOUR WAY. One of these days you will speak your last word. Someday you will give your last hug. Someday you will smile for your last time. Someday you will sing your last song. Someday your last action will be KIND or maybe you will be mean and cruel. There is a payday at the end of the road. WHAT ARE YOU LEAVING BEHIND? Your heritage? ARE YOU LEARNING TO WAIT PATIENT
