Summary: Does God protect us?

What will be the end result of a life of lies and deceptive flattery? Will God eventually provide for the poor and needy? Let’s look at Psalm 12.

Are the godly vanishing from our society? What is the difference between a sincere encouraging word and deceptive flattery?

Help, O Lord, for the godly are fast disappearing! The faithful have vanished from the earth! Neighbors lie to each other, speaking with flattering lips and deceitful hearts. (Ps 12:1-2 NLT)

Do untrustworthy deceivers flatter themselves with boasting instead of trusting God?

May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts, who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?” (Ps 12:3-4 WEB)

In the end, who will God really provide for? Whose promises can we really count on?

But the Lord says, “Because the poor are oppressed, because of the groans of the needy, I’m now standing up. I will provide the help they are gasping for.” The Lord’s promises are pure, like silver that’s been refined in an oven, purified seven times over! (Ps 12:5-6 CEB)

Who will God protect in the end? Why do people praise shameless deeds while the wicked strut on the national stage?

You will protect us and always keep us safe from those people. But all who are wicked will keep on strutting, while everyone praises their shameless deeds. (Ps 12:7-8 CEV)

As long as we continue to strive to enter that rest, can anyone snatch us out of God’s hand?

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:27-30 ESV)

What will be the end result of a life of lies and deceptive flattery? Will God eventually provide for the poor and needy? You decide!
