SOMETIMES YOU CAN’T GET OVER IT, YOU HAVE TO GET THROUGH IT.

Hear a little wisdom? DISCIPLINE YOURSELF TO SMILE. FORGIVE QUICKLY! HAVE WE MADE PEACE WITH THE PAST? DON’T GET HUNG UP WITH WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOU. IT TAKES TIME TO HEAL AND MOVE FORWARD. DON’T JUDGE OTHER PEOPLE. BE WHO YOU ARE, DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS. JOY IS A CHOICE. YOU CHOOSE YOUR MOOD EVERYDAY.
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
MAYBE OUR PRAYERS WILL BE ANSWERED. MAYBE WE WILL RECEIVE OUR DREAMS? MAYBE WE WILL RECEIVE THE ANSWERS WE DREADED? MAYBE OUR DREAMS WILL BE NIGHTMARES? WE MUST KNOW GOD IS STILL GOD. THE QUESTION IS WILL I TRUST GOD’S PLANS?
God had blessed JOB beyond measure. JOB lost everything. JOB lost his family, his livestock, nature had seemed to destroy. The enemies came against JOB. Nothing was left. JOB’S HEALTH WAS DESTROYED. YET JOB WORSHIPPED GOD. JOB had an UNWAVERING TRUST IN A HOLY GOD.
Job 1:20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. 22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
I HAD A DREAM DURING MY CRUSHING TIMES AS A NEW MINISTER. IN MY DREAM 6 SMALL SNAKES WERE LATCHED ON MY RIGHT HAND. I PULLED THEM OFF MY HAND AND TOOK THEM TO AN INFIRMARY. THE NURSE SAID: ONE SNAKE BITE WILL NOT HURT YOU, BUT I DON’T KNOW ABOUT SIX BITES. THEN I OPENED UP MY SHIRT, A HUGE SNAKE HAD ITS FANGS SUNK IN MY HEART. SHE SAID: YOU ARE DEAD MEAT. AFTER THE DREAM, I OPENED MY BIBLE TO:
Job 5:19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
JOB’S WIFE WAS BROKEN, THE TRIPS TO THE FUNERAL HOME AND TO SEE JOB SUFFER SO BAD. HER ANSWER WAS CRUEL.
Job 2:9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.
JOB SAW THE WORLD FALL APART, YET BY FAITH HE COMPLETELY TRUSTED GOD’S PLAN. GOD NEED NOT EXPLAIN HIMSELF TO US. BY FAITH WE WALK.
Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: 26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: 27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
JOB DID NOT UNDERSTAND. HIS WIFE HURT HIM. HIS 3 FRIENDS HURT HIM DEEPLY. JOB DECLARES HE WILL SEE GOD. HE KNEW --- KNEW FOR A FACT THAT HIS REDEEMER LIVES… HE DECLARES HE WILL SEE GOD.
Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
THE HIDING PLACE: GOD PROMISES HIS PEOPLE HE WILL MAKE AWAY FOR US. GOD KNOWS YOU ARE SICK AND TIRED.
We will face many defeats in life, but that does not mean we have to live defeated.
Corrie Ten Boom was a Jew that worked with the underground resistance against Hilter. 6 million died. Corrie, her dad Caspar and sister, BETSY were arrested. They were taken into captivity by the Germans in the Jewish Death Camps. Corrie and her sister were captives. In her book THE HIDING PLACE, Corrie tells about her captivity and the death of her family members. Corrie tells that her sister, Betsy and her was in a dormitory with hundreds of other ladies. They were forced to work. Corrie had a Bible she had smuggled in and she would read to the other ladies. LICE INFESTED THEIR DORM. THE LICE INFESTION was horrible. God answered Corrie’s prayers. Corrie and Betsy prayed God to kill the LICE. The LICE INFESTION grew worse. Later Corrie and Betsy learned that the German soldiers visited and raped the women in dorms, but the lice kept them out of their dorm. The German soldiers would not come near their dorm because of the LICE INFESTATION. God used the lice to protect the women. The women were known by numbers. Corrie was known as 66730.
Betsy died in the concentration camp. One day Corrie Ten Boom heard her name called over of the public address system. She almost missed it as she was known as 66730. There was a clerical mistake that allowed CORRIE TEN BOOM TO ESCAPE THE DEATH CAMP. Corrie wrote THE HIDING PLACE and she traveled with the Billy Graham Crusade and shared her story.
LATER CORRIE WROTE:
SOMETIMES WE ASK GOD FOR BLESSINGS, BUT HE ANSWERS IN WAYS WE DON’T EXPECT.
INSTEAD OF GIVING US WHAT WE WANT, HE GIVES US WHAT WE NEED
TO GROW, LEARN AND FULFIL HIS PURPOSE IN OUR LIVES.
WHEN WE ASK FOR STRENGTH, GOD MAY GIVE US CHALLENGES
TO BUILD OUR FAITH AND RESILIENCE.
WHEN WE ASK FOR STRENGTH, GOD MAY GIVE US CHALLENGES.
WHEN WE ASK FOR WISDOM, HE PROVIDES PROBLEMS
THAT TEACH US DISCERNMENT.
WHEN WE ASK FOR COURAGE, HE LEADS US THROUGH
TRIALS THAT GROW OUR BOLDNESS.
LOVE GROWS WHEN WE CARE FOR OTHERS IN NEED,
AND PATIENCE FORMS IN MOMENTS OF WAITING.
PROSPERITY AND FAVOR COME WRAPPED IN OPPORTUNITIES
THAT REQUIRE EFFORT AND TRUST.
GOD’S ANSWERS AREN’T ALWAYS WHAT WE EXPECTED
BUT THEY ARE ALWAYS PERFECT,
WORKING TOGETHER FOR OUR GOOD AND HIS GLORY.
LET US TRUST HIS POWERFUL WAYS AND EMBRACE
THE BLESSINGS HIDDEN IN LIFE’S CHALLENGES.
YOUR PRAYERS ARE BEING ANSWERED IN HIS PERFECT WISDOM AND LOVE!
CAN WE HEAR GOD’S INVITATION TO COME INTO CLOSER?
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
THERE WAS A YOUNG MAN THAT TOOK HIS VACATION EVERY YEAR TO AN OCEAN FRONT CABIN.
Jude 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
This young man loved the cabin on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. There was no electricity or modern conveniences. He would go to bed when it got dark. Then he would arise when the sun came up. He would walk along the shore line as the sun rose. As he was walking his first day, he noticed several STARFISH had washed ashore. They would surely die when the sun made the sand hot. He bent down, picked up a STARFISH and THREW it back in the water. He walked farther up the shore and found another STARFISH doomed to die. He bent down, picked it up and threw the STARFISH back in the water. He picked up many STARFISH and returned them to the safety of the ocean. For the two weeks there, he daily returned the STARFISH BACK TO THE TIDE OF THE OCEAN.
When the young man returned home he studied the LIFE CYCLE OF STARFISH. He was amazed to find that each year hundreds of STARFISH returned to the shores in that area and they would die. The young man decided each year he would return to this cabin to save STARFISH. This young man felt like maybe he could save some. Every year he would awaken and go down on the shore and THROW THE STARFISH back into the ocean. He did this ritual every year for many years. He had saved thousands and thousands of STARFISH with bending down, picking up the STARFISH and returning them to the ocean.
YEARS LATER THE YOUNG MAN WAS OLD AND FRAIL. He returned as always before. The landlord had built several more little cabins. The now old man got up at daybreak and walked the shores. With great effort he would bend down pick up a STARFISH and return it to the safety of the ocean. One day a young man was up early and saw the old man in the shadows bend down and pick up something and throw it into the waters. The second day the young man got up early and watched the frail old man doing the same old ritual. The young man walked down to the old man and said to him. WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING? The old man explained how the STARFISH would come ashore and then die when the hot sun would shine and destroy the beached STARFISH.
The young man mocked the old man and said: WHAT DIFFERENCE CAN YOU MAKE TO THE STARFISH? The old man explained to the young man the life cycle of STARFISH. The old man went on to say how many years he had returned to the cabin to walk the beach and save the STARFISH THAT WERE DOOMED. With great labor the old man bent once again, picked up the STARFISH and returned the STARFISH TO THE ATLANTIC. The old man had a tear in his eye as he remembered all the years he had vacationed in the cabin. The old man had bowed down thousands, no millions of times and returned the STARFISH back to their life.
THE YOUNG MAN MOCKINGLY SAID: WHAT DIFFERENCE CAN YOU MAKE? THE OLD MAN BENT DOWN AGAIN AND HE RETURNED A STARFISH TO THE COOL REFRESHING WATERS. THE OLD MAN REPLIED: I CAN’T MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE --- BUT I HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE TO THIS ONE STARFISH. Tears ran down the old man’s wrinkled face. I MADE A DIFFERENCE TO THIS ONE STARFISH.
In the cool of the morning, the two walked down the beach together. The old man struggle das he would bend down and return the one STARFISH back to safety. As the two walked along together the young man saw the joy in the old man’s eyes. The young man took a few steps and bent down. He picked up a STARFISH and returned that ONE STARFISH back to the safety of the ocean’s waters. THE OLD MAN HAD MADE A DIFFERENCE ONE STARFISH AT A TIME. The old man taught the young man, MAYBE NOT IN THE WORLD WIDE LIFE IN THE OCEAN, MAYBE I CAN’T MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE. BUT I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO THIS ONE STARFISH TODAY!
TRUST GOD. FEELINGS AND CIRCUMSTANCES CAN’T DICTATE GOD’S MIRACLES AND TIMING. DON’T COMPARE YOURSELVES WITH YOURSELVES.
2 Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
CONCLUSION: LET GOD BE GOD AND TRUST HIS PLAN. Sometimes you can’t get over it, you must get through it. (See Willie Nelson’s song by that title?)
