THE WORLD FORGETS GOD AND MAKES A PRIORITY OF FUN AND ENTERTAINMENT. AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH…
Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
CAN WE AFFORD TO PLAY SPIRITUAL GAMES?
I CAN HAVE IT MY WAY. NOTHING CAN TOUCH ME. O, GREAT POTENTATE, NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN AS GREAT AS ME. LET US PARTY. I HAVE IT ALL. I CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED. I AM THE STRONGEST! I HAVE THE BEST! LET’S PARTY: BABYLON. THERE WAS A KING NAMED NEBUCHADNEZZAR THAT WAS A GREAT RULER AND LIFTED HIMSELF ABOUT GOD… THE PREACHER WARNED HIM TO CHANGE HIS ATTITUDES OR SPEND 7 YEARS AS A WILD ANIMAL.
Daniel 4:16 Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
PRIDE AND POWER LEAD TO DESTRUCTION.
Daniel 4:30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
IN GOD’S TENDER MERCIES AND AMAZING GRACE NEBUCHADNEZZAR HUMBLES HIMSELF AND GOD RESTORES HIM.
Daniel 4:34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
THERE IS NOTHING GREATER THE THE FLESH? THE NEXT GENERATION FORGETS WHAT SIN AND PRIDE DOES. THE PARTY HARDY MENTALLY IS ALIVE AND WELL IN BELSHAZZAR REIGN… THE LESSON WILL BE VERY EXPENSIVE.
Daniel 5:1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.
LET US LOOK AT THE RECORDS: I AM THE GREATEST? I CANNOT BE DEFEATED.
1. BETWEEN TWO RIVERS: THE TIGRIS RIVER AND THE EUPHRATES RIVER.
2. BABYLON HAD THE WORLD FAMOUS HANGING GARDENS.
3. THE FORTS WERE 350 FEET HIGH, 35 STORIES.
4. THE WALLS PROTECTING BABYLON WERE 700 FEET WIDE AT THE BOTTOM.
5. THE WALLS 300 FEET WIDE AT THE TOP.
6. THE WALS WERE SO WIDE 7 CHARIOTS COULD RACE SIDE BY SIDE.
7. THERE WAS AN ENTER WALL 250 HIGH THAT THE ENEMMY WOULD HAVE TO SCALE IF THEY GOT OVER THE 350 HIGH WALL.
8. THE CENTER OF THE CITY WAS 100 FEET HIGH MADE OF MARBLE.
9. THERE WAS MARBLE TEMPLE BUILT TO WORSHIP BAAL.
10. THE DINING ROOM WAS 1,650 WIDE. IT WAS ALMOST A MILE LONG.
11. THERE WERE TRAINED MONKEYS AND PEACOCKS THAT WERE TRAINED TO PULL FANCY WAGONS WITH FOOD AND DRINKS ON THEM.
SINS COST HIS DAD… BELSHAZZAR NEVER LEARNS. BELSHAZZAR HAS A PARTY HARDY SPIRIT. BELSHAZZAR HAS NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE BUT HIMSELF. AT THE DRUNKEN PARTY BELSHAZZAR HAS WINE FREELY FLOWING. BELSHAZZAR HAS NO RESPECT FOR GOD, ISRAEL OR THE THINGS ROBBED OUT OF THE TEMPLE.
Daniel 5:2 Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. 3 Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. 4 They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
This party is so wild it will GO DOWN IN HISTORY!
WHEN WILL MAN LEARNED THE TERRIBLE COST OF PRIDE, SIN AND PARTYING? CAN WE READ THE WRITING ON THE WALL?
Daniel 5:5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
PLAYING WITH GOD’S HOLINESS WILL BRING TROUBLE. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO END A PARTY? SOBER UP? TROUBLE? THE BRAIN KNOWS, THE TRAP OF SIN HAS HOOK US? THE PARTY IS OVER.
Daniel 5:6 Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
Daniel 5:9 Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonied.
* ASTONIED: dazed, overcomed with shock, terrified.
BELSHAZZAR KNEW THE PARTY/PRIDE/SIN HAD CAUGHT UP TO HIM.
Daniel 5:25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. 26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. 27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. 28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
BELSHAZZAR GOES FROM THE PARTY TO THE FUNERAL HOME. HE HAD EVERYTHING --- HE HAD NOTHING!
Daniel 5:30 In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.
BELSHAZZAR NEVER LEARNED FROM HIS DAD’S EXPERIENCE. THE PARTY IS OVER. BELTHE WRONG PRIORITIES WILL COST TERRIBLE PRICES. DISRESPECT OF GOD’S HOLINESS. ASK CAIN IF GIVING GOD LEFTOVERS CAN CHANGE YOUR COUNTENANCE.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
WHAT IS YOUR SPIRITUAL WEIGHT? YOUR DISRESPECT AND NO HONOR FOR GOD AND GOD’S HOLY THINGS STOLEN OUT OF THE TEMPLE --- What are you stealing?
Daniel 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
Daniel 5:27 (MSG) "Teqel: You have been weighed on the scales and you don't weigh much.
CONCLUSION: Do we take God’s word lightly? Are we wanting? Short? Without? Lacking? Fall below God’s standards? Do we have a great need for more of God? WAKE UP! WE STILL HAVE TIME TO CORRECT AND REPENT AND CHANGE! What words, attitudes and habits do we need to change? I worked with a man that chewed and dipped tobacco --- he died without a mouth. The doctor’s made a new mouth. They told him never dip again? As soon as he could he had tobacco in his mouth. Count the cost.
As chaplain I was called out to the scene: 3 young people in their mid-twenties had been to a party. There was a fight. The 3 young people in their drunken state, topped the hill. They were going to get guns and go back to the party. They hit a cliff and killed all 3 of the young people. Count the cost.
