IF THE HORSE IS DEAD ---
By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes)
There is a divine gift of peace that we often overlook. Why would anyone refuse to accept DIVINE PEACE?
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27 (MSG) I'm leaving you well and whole. That's my parting gift to you. Peace. I don't leave you the way you're used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don't be upset. Don't be distraught.
John 14:27 (NLT2) “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
LET ME START WITH A TRUTH WE NEED TO LEARN.
NOTHING CREATES MORE DEEP SEATED ANXIETIES THAN THE FALSE ASSUMPTION THAT A CHRISTIAN LIFE SHOULD BE FREE FROM ALL CONFLICTS AND ANXIETIES. Don’t expect everyone you know to be kind. Get over it and then GET ON WITH IT. If you want different, you must apply effort and GIVE DIFFERENTLY.
WE CAN DEVELOP NEGATIVE THINKING PATTERNS BY FLESHLY DESIRES AND HABITUAL BEHAVIOR. STOP BEATING THE HORSE: IF THE HORSE IS DEAD IT IS MY RECOMMENDATION TO DISMOUNT. A FOOLISH PERSON KEEPS BEATING THE HORSE…
Life throws a lot of opportunity and garbage in our hearts and minds. The enemy does not have the power to steal our joy and peace but we can sell our peace and joy.
BALAAM was a preacher that loved money and desired promotion from men more that his desire to please the Lord. Balaam was offered great wealth and promotion to curse God’s people.
Numbers 22:27 And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff. 28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times? 29 And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee. 30 And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay. 31 Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.
My friend it is easier to beat your horse than it is to see the real heart of the problem. The problem of the heart is the heart of the problem. IN THE CONFRONTATION BETWEEN THE STREAM AND THE ROCK: THE STREAM ALWAYS WINS. NOT BY STRENGTH BUT BY PERSEVERANCE.
HEAR A DIVINE SUMMONS COME ALL THAT LABOR:
*DEFINE PEACE: (SHALOM) FREE FROM DISTURBANCE, no war, contentment, harmony, no fear or anxiety, complete, whole, well being, restore THE BROKEN, repayment, reconcile, work together, GOOD WILL TO YOU, may you be fulfilled body, soul and spirit, be full of joy, tranquility.
GOD MADE A COVENANT (AGREEMENT) OF PEACE… PEACE WITH SELF, PEACE WITH OTHERS, PEACE WITH GOD.
DO WE SET OUR MINDS ON GOD OR CIRCUMSTANCES? THERE IS A BIBLICAL PROMISE FOR GOD’S PEOPLE THAT TRUST --- God’s peace needs deep roots that goes beyond human comprehension. We must celebrate life more than mourn death.
IS PERFECT PEACE AVAILABLE IN THE TRYING TIMES WE LIVE?
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
*SHALOM: perfect peace that comes from staying focused and relying on God. WILL WE KEEP AT IT? The only way peace, perfect peace can be achieved is by understanding God’s word and
GOD’S POWER CAN GUARD AND PROTECT OUR PEACE. A SUPER PEACE THAT EXCELS AND REACHES BEYOND HUMAN COMPREHENSION THAT IS SO SUPERIOR TO ANYTHING THE WORLD CAN OFFER. SMALL STROKES FELL MIGHTY OAKS. PERSISTENCE --- NEVER QUIT
Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6 (MSG) Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. 7 Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
We must never give our enemy PERMISSION to cause worry, anxiety or panic to play games in our minds. THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS SEEM ANGRY, AND CONSTANTLY LOOK FOR CONFLIICT. LEARN TO WALK AWAY
THAT BATTLE THEY ARE FIGHTING IS NOT WITH YOU, IT IS WITH THEMSELVES.
NEVER FORGET WHAT WE KNOW. SOMETIMES YOUR OWN WORST ENEMY IS YOUR OWN MEMORY. WE MUST FORGIVE OTHERS BUT WE MUST LEARN TO FORGIVE OURSELVES.
WHEN IT RAINS LOOK FOR RAINBOWS. WHEN IT IS DARK LOOK FOR STARS.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 (MSG) That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.
DANGER: WE ARE NOT TO FOLLOW SIGNS, SIGNS ARE TO FOLLOW US.
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
WE MUST NOT HATE, BUT LOVE
1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Romans 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
A HEART THAT REPENTS QUICKLY. We keep God’s commandments and they are not not a burden, nor grievous.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
We search not for Godly presents and gifts, we long for God’s sweet presence. Do we earnestly and willingly desire to obey God’s plan? Do we praise God continually? We believe and trust God’s word completely. We GIVE GENEROUSLY.
We love hard to love people.
REPETITIVE COMPLAINING WILL ATTRACT THE THINGS YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT.
REPEATED GRATITUDE WILL ATTRACT THINGS FOR YOU TO BE THANKFUL ABOUT.
Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
CONCLUSION: JOY AND HAPPINESS CAN BE FOUND IN SEVERAL THINGS: 1. LET GO OF WHAT WAS; 2.ENJOY WHAT IS; 3. HAVE FAITH THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL AND THINK POSITIVE IN WHAT THINGS WILL BE.
WE MUST ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO CHANGE OUR THINKING PATTERNS AND MINDSETS. God meets all His people’s needs.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
