THE TRAP OF WORRY/FEAR!
By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes)
WE TEND TO CLAIM GENERATIONAL CURSES. JESUS CAME TO SET US FREE. THERE IS A DANGER THAT WE BAIT AND SET THE TRAP CAN UTTERLY DESTROY SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
WORRY FEEDS FEAR. FEAR FEEDS WORRY… We face the SNOW BALL EFFECT BY ALLOWING WORRY AND FEAR. Just because your family were worriers, does mean you have to be.
Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
Job 3:25 (MSG) The worst of my fears has come true, what I've dreaded most has happened.
Job 3:25 (NLT2) What I always feared has happened to me. What I dreaded has come true.
DO WE GIVE GROUND FOR THE ENEMY TO GROW HIS GARDEN IN OUR HEARTS, MINDS AND FAMILY? HAVE WE LEARNED AND PRACTICE WORRY AND FEAR? HAVE WE SOWN WORRY AND FEAR IN OTHERS?
TORMENT: To treat cruelly, emotional, mental or spiritual, to torture, extreme pain, suffering, anguih, misery,
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18 (MSG) There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.
1 John 4:18 (NLT2) 18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
CAN YOU NAME THE GOOD BENEFITS OF FEAR AND WORRY. FEAR BREEDS WORRY!
Matthew 6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
OFTEN WE ARE JUST RIDING IN A WAGON. WE TEND TO AVOID WHAT WE DO NOT LIKE.
Many things in life cannot be avoid. Add to this problems in or daily lives that we cannot solve. Do we know it is a fact that many issues there are nothing we can do fix it. We need to learn how to wait and enjoy the moment.
Matthew 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
FEAR AND WORRY ARE BIRTHED IN THE FLESH AND IN THE ENEMY’S CAMP.
Faith has a mortal enemy in fear and worry. There are two kissing cousins and they empower each other. Worry never exists without fear. Fear thrives in the wasted time of worry. Where there is worry and fear there is torment.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
God desires us to come boldly and loving to his throne.
LET US NEUTRALIZE THE POWER OF WORRY AND FEAR. WE MUST HAVE LOVE, FAITH AND TRUSTING GOD IS AN ANTIDOTE TO FEAR AND WORRY.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
WE GO THROUGH SEASONS: WHEN GOD SEEMS SILENT. WE DO NOT WALK BY SIGHT --- WE WALK BY FAITH. FEELING AND EMOTIONAL HIGHS AND LOWS.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
2 Corinthians 5:7 (MSG) It's what we trust in but don't yet see that keeps us going.
OUR MINDS GET STUCK IN THE DITCH OF WORRY AND FEAR WHEN I CAN’T SEE.
Think: OUT OF THE ABUNDANCE OF THE HEART THE MOUTH SPEAKS… GOOD THINGS? WORRY AND FEAR. THINK ON THESE… By faith we must actively focus our minds. Thinking on good things is like a gardener weeding out the bad so the good can thrive. The Holy Spirit will challenge use to CHANGE OUR THINKING PATTERNS. WE can fall if we refuse to change.
GOD DOES NOT GIVE US A SPIRIT OF FEAR AND WORRY. FEAR AND WORRY COME FROM CARNALITY (THE FLESH) AND FROM OUR ENEMY. WORRY AND FEAR WILL ALWAYS TORMENT GOD’S PEOPLE.
HAVING LOVE, FAITH AND TRUSTING GOD IS AN ANTIDOTE TO FEAR AND WORRY. WE HAVE A GREAT AND POWERFUL PROMISE.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
GOD PROMISED TO MEET all THE NEEDS OF BELIEVERS. God’s promises are physical, emotional, and spiritual. Jesus has all fear and worry under his feet.
GOD IS ON OUR SIDE. WHY WORRY WHEN BY FAITH WE CAN TRUST IN THE UNSEEN HANDS OF A MIGHTY GOD?
No matter what the circumstances of how you feel or see: Can we declare: GOD IS ON OUR SIDE. God is faithful.
Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Ephesians 3:20 (NLT2) Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
CONCLUSION: The other day Linda brought pour me a glass of V8 juice. I drink a sip and it tasted bad. I put a spoon in the glass and there was a glob of sickening stuff. The glass contained what was poured into it. If we pour worry and fear in our hearts we will reap the results.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
GOD IS OUR SOURCE, WE ARE HIS RESOURCE… I HAVE AN EMPTY GLASS AND A BOTTLE OF COOL WATER.
When I pour the cool water in the glass I have a lesson. God is the source: the bottle of water. We are the glass. God pours living water into the believers… WHAT ARE WE POURING INTO OUR GLASS? Worry? Fear? Praise? Joy?
Every set back is a set up for a COME BACK. Trust is the antidote of fear.
