DO WE HAVE A BREEDING GROUND FOR EXPECTATION? MIRACLES?
By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes)
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG) I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
*LET US REASON TOGETHER AND MAKE A DECLARATION OF FAITH. I BELIEVE GOD’S WORD IS FOR ME. WE WILL ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER BY DECLARING GOD IS GOOD. GOD HAS A PLAN TO BLESS AND KEEP ME. I WILL BELIEVE TODAY GOD HAS SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL IN STORE FOR ME. I DECLARE SOMETHING GOOD IS GOING TO HAPPEN. SOMETHING GOOD IS IN STORE. BY FAITH I DECLARE GOD’S LOVE AND GRACE. I MAY NOT SEE IT WITH MY EYES, BUT MY FAITH DECLARES I AM EXPECTING GOD’S PROMISE TO BE FULFILLED IN MY HOME.
TEXT:
Psalm 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Psalm 62:5 (MSG) God, the one and only— I'll wait as long as he says. Everything I hope for comes from him, so why not?
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
IN A PREVIOUS LESSON WE TAUGHT THERE ARE 3 LEVELS OF EXPECTATION BY FAITH: 1. THE BELIEVING LEVEL. 2. THE TRUSTING LEVEL. 3. EXPECTING LEVEL.
THERE ARE 3 QUESTIONS OF CREDIBILITY WE MUST ANSWER. 1. CAN GOD DO THIS? 2. WILL GOD DO THIS FOR ME?
3. WHEN WILL GOD DO THIS?
IF YOU WILL ALLOW IT: EXPECTATION WILL ALWAYS PRODUCE MORE THAN YOU WERE EXPECTING. CAN I GO FROM CRIPPLE FAITH TO LEAPING FAITH BY EXPECTING.
The cripple man was trapped to begging for alms. BY EXPECTING HE HOPE TO GET MONEY. BY EXPECTING HE RECEIVED MUCH MORE THAN HE WAS EXPECTING.
Acts 3:2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
TO OPERATING IN EXPECTING FAITH WE NEED NOW FAITH… BEFORE THE EVIDENCE IS VISIBLE.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Many tell it like it was. We need it now. Do we have confidence to operate in God’s word and promises? Do we recognize and believe that God is in control and God’s work will lead us? Do we have a holy conviction that we will have an expectant conviction that our faith moves the heart of God? My friends I am expecting God to bring new hope to our families, church and nation. Are we expecting the move of God to bring healing? Restoration? Break generational curses? Spiritual breakthroughs?
Expectation must be ACTIVATIVE BY FAITH AND TRUSTING GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS PPROMISES. We know that the Bible EXPECTATION IS MORE THAN PASSIVE WAITHING FOR God’s move. We must allow love and faith to take root in our words, attitudes and in action. EXPECTATION has several kissing cousins: PATIENCE, HOPE AND FAITH.
THERE IS A BATTLE OF EXPECTATION WE MUST FIGHT IN OUR MENTAL ATTITUDES.
The expectation of God’s people will bring peace and joy. We must pray with expectation.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Mark 11:24 (MSG) That's why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything.
It is possible to lose our expectation and hope which in turn will kill our faith. By moving in expectation we are MOTIVATED toward God’s plan for us. NOAH OPERATED IN EXPECTATION. ABRAHAM expected God’s promises to come true in the birth of a son even though he and Sarah were old. DAVID was called by the prophet Samuel. David had to patiently wait in expectation. There was a poor lady that spent all she had and was still sick. She woke up one morning, put on her makeup and best dress and decided I AM GOING TO FIND JESUS… SHE EXPECTED AS SHE TOUCH HIM: HEALING.
I AM TOLD IN THE BIBLE THERE ARE SEVERAL WORDS FOR EXPECTATION:
*PROSDOKAO: to look forward in hope.
Acts 3:5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
*EKDECHOMAI: an intense, strong expectation.
Hebrews 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
*APOKARADOKIA: to wait for that has been assure, assurance. Earnest expectation, to reach out to receive.
Philippians 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
Hebrews 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
I AM EXPECTING VICTORY AHEAD. THERE IS AN END TO TRIALS, SUFFER… WE HAVE HOPE OF CHANGE. WE CAN PLACE OUR TRUST IN GOD’S WORD.
Proverbs 23:18 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
Proverbs 23:18 (MSG) That's where your future lies. Then you won't be left with an armload of nothing.
THERE ARE PROMISES: AS WE FORGIVE WE ARE FORGIVEN ---GIVING IS MORE THAN MONEY.
WE MUST EXPECT BY FAITH ---
Luke 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. 37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD DESIRES FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE EXPECTING, LONGING AND WAITING FOR GOD TO HELP, HEAL AND DO MIRACLES.
The bottom line is very simple. ACTIVE FAITH IS EXPECTING GOD’S WORD IS TRUE AND FAITHFUL. We must stand firmly on the hope before us. We stand in hopeful anticipation that GOD CARES AND GOD WANTS US TO EXPECT MORE OF HIS MERCY AND GRACE. Expectation is the KEY TO BELIEVING.
Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
LET US COME WITH GREAT EXPECTATIONS.
Lamentations 3:25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
CONCLUSION: God can change your story! Do we believe with God all things a re possible?
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
We must not give place to generational curses. Never forget you will get what you expect. WORRY AND FEAR ARE SPIRITUAL DEATH.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
REMEMBER THE SPIRITUAL LAW:
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
What are you expecting? We have hope! We have faith that God’s plans for us is deliverance and restoration.
Jeremiah 30:17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
Jeremiah 30:17 (MSG) As for you, I'll come with healing, curing the incurable, Because they all gave up on you and dismissed you as hopeless— that good-for-nothing Zion.'
Jeremiah 30:17 (NIV) But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,' declares the LORD, 'because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.'
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
COME ALONG WITH ME, LET US EXPECT NEW GOOD THINGS FROM GOD.
