NOT ME! I REFUSE TO COME? INVESTING IN THE TEMPORAL!

SOMEDAY WE WILL COME TO THE JORDAN RIVER REPRESENTING DEATH? WHAT ARE THE END OF LIFE REGRETS THAT WILL ROLL BEFORE US? I OFTEN CALL THIS STUPID TAXES? PEOPLE REGRET THINGS THEY LEFT UNDONE… WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN? WHAT IS MY MOTIVATION? DO I SEE LIFE AS A DISTORTION OF TEMPORAL…
Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. 23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
LUKE 6 RECORDS SOME OF THE GREATEST TEACHINGS OF JESUS. THESE GREAT LESSONS are contrary to human nature. What is true fulfill in daily life? We must take control of spiritual warfare. There is a clear promise that God rewards the:
**1. POOR; **2. HUNGRY; **3. THE WEAK --- THIS TEACHING IS CONTRARY TO ANY RELIGIOUS TEACHING OF THE DAY. TEMPORARY REWARDS? JESUS ASSURES US THAT SUFFERING AND LACK WILL NEVER GO UNNOTICED MY THE HEART OF GOD.
OFTEN THE OFFERING OF EXCUSES BECOME A WAY OF ACCUSING US OF THE THINGS WE DO NOT WANT THE WORLD IS OUT OF ORDER! WITH ONE CONSENT THEY BEGAN MAKING EXCUSES.
THERE IS A GREAT TABLE OF OPPORTUNITY BEFORE US. HOW OFTEN DOES OPPORTUNITY KNOCK AT THE DOOR?
Luke 14:16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
SPIRITUAL EXCUSES ARE VERY CONTAGIOUS… The more you offer excuses. The more sellable your product.
1. Materialism.
2. Business/Pleasure.
3. Personal Relationships.
*INVITATION: written or spoken request, to offer to attend, bid, JESUS INVITATION IS CLEAR: COME AS YOU ARE! DO’T STAY WHERE YOU ARE!
* Biblical is the Lord calling one to a personal relationship by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
* COME: To travel toward a place, to get nearer, to move toward, to start a journey.
DON’T REFUSE GOD’S CALL. THE FIRST INVITATION OF JESUS IS VERY CLEAR:
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28 (MSG) "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest.
Matthew 11:28 (NLT2) Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
SOME COME TO JESUS TO LEARN MORE… THE SECOND INVITATION FROM GOD’S ONLY SON IS: SURE YOU
ARE WELCOME TO COME CLOSER.
John 1:39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
John 1:39 (MSG) He replied, "Come along and see for yourself." They came, saw where he was living, and ended up staying with him for the day. It was late afternoon when this happened.
JESUS LOVE US TO HAVE A PERSONAL, CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. THE THIRD INVITATION IS COME AND DRINK. BE REFRESHED. WE CAN HAVE RIVERS OF LIVING WATER.
John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
JESUS OFFERS US A FOURTH INVITATION, LET US NOT REFUSE… COME AND DINE. THERE IS A SOUL TIE WHEN WE EAT TOGETHER. LET US DINE. THERE IS SOMETHING SPECIAL TO DINE TOGETHER AT THE TABLE OF FELLOWSHIP. THERE MEN WERE TIRED AND HUNGRY. JESUS INVITES THEM TO DINE WITH HIM.
John 21:10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. 11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. 12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. 13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
ONE THING YOU LACK? YOUNG MAN YOU KNOW! THE FIFTH CALL GETS A LITTLE DEEPER IN THE SCOPE OF SPIRITUAL LIFE. JESUS HAS A FIFTH INVITATION TO A YOUNG MAN THAT HAS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR GOD… IT APPEARS HE IS NOT WILLING…
Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
THE SIXTH CALL, WE MUST NOT IGNORE THIS CALL: WE MUST HEAR THE HEART OF JESUS: COME APART OR COME APART. WE CAN BE SO POURED OUT, GOD DESIRES TO RESTORE.
Mark 6:31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
THE SEVENTH CALL WE MUST NOT FIND AN EXCUSE, HE VERY IMPORTANT. HEAR THE CALL COME HOME TO EVER BE WITH THE LORD.
Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Conclusion: Will we hear the CALL TO COME CLOSER TO GOD’S PLAN? Please don’t refuse to COME CLOSER TO THE HEART OF GOD. Father we accept the call.
