Summary: Two men were walking 7 miles, they were so hurt and discouraged. Their dreams were crushed... God's plan is to lift up your head and stay focused not on the past... but to dream forward.

THE CHALLENGE: THE CRUSHING BRINGS OUT THE SWEETEST FRAGRANCE

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes)

TODAY WILL BE A MEMORY TOMORROW.

WHAT ARE YOU BUILDING? HOW DO YOU WAKE UP? Someone tied their shoes this morning. The undertaker will untie them. Someone one picked their clothes out to wear. Not dreaming the cloths would be cut off. If we are above the ground we should be thankful and stop complaining and griping. IF WE ARE ABOVE THE GROUND WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW SUFFERING, TRIALS AND TROUBLES KILL OUR LOVE AND DAILY BLESSINGS. To make today a good day we must release life is not about avoiding obstacles. Today we can make a good day by OVERCOMING. Flowers can grow back even if they are cut down. The rose gives off the sweetest fragrance when they are crushed.

COME LET US TRUST THE NEXT CHAPTER BECAUSE WE KNOW THE AUTHOR. LET US RE-WRITE OUR HISTORY. WE ARE NEVER TOO FAR GONE FOR GOD TO USE US. GOD CAN USE WHO HE CHOOSES.

God does not look for perfect people. God uses who chooses. Abraham was a liar and he told ½ truths because he was afraid for his wife Sarah. Jacob follows the example and he to lies. Saul the first king of Israel was disobedient and rebellious. Saul even consulted a witch. Yet God used Saul to establish a kingdom. David committed adultery. He had one of his own soldiers killed. David fathered an illegimate son. David did not go to battle and was lazy and stayed home.

Peter denied knowing Jesus three times. NEVER FORGET: WHAT IS HAPPENING TO YOU? WHAT IS HAPPENING FOR YOU? WHAT IS HAPPENING IN YOU?

CAN WE PROFIT BY OUR MISTAKES? ACCIDENTS CAN CHANGE YOU AND THE WORLD… GOD HAS A BETTER IDEAL.

In 1928 there as a scientist named ALEXANDER FLEMING working in his lab. He accidentally left a PETRI DISH of BATERIA out on the counter. The next day ALEXANDER noticed that the mold in the petri dish had killed the bacteria. Alexander named the mold: PENICILLUM NOTATUN. We know it as PENICILLUM. This accident lead to discover the first antibodic that is still used today and it has saved many lives.

In 1943 a Naval Engineer named Richard James was working on the issue of stabilizing ships in the ocean. . Richard accidently knocked a spring of the shelf. Richard noticed the spring moved. In 1945 Richard released a new toy: THE SLINKY.

In 1945 an engineer was working on radar units. PERCY SPENCER worked on the radar units. He had a candy bar in his pocket. He noticed the candy bar melted. This discovery lead to a new way of cooking food. Today the average home has this accidental invent in the kitchen. We know it as the MICROWAVE. Today we know microwaves have changed our cooking speed.

In 1956 there was a wall paper company that sold wallpaper cleaning paste. The company was failing. It was going bankrupt and the company was hopeless. One day the owners found out children loved to with this cleaning paste. They renamed the cleaning paste: “PLAY DOUGH.” This was not planned, it was an accident.

ARE WE WALKING AWAY FROM OUR MIRACLE? WE ARE SO DISAPPOINTED, OUR DREAMS ARE DEAD. I GUESS WE LOST OUR TRUST? D ON THE END OF A WORD MEANS PAST TENSE. WHY ARE TWO DEPRESSED MEN WALKING DOWN A DEPRESSING ROAD. WHY ARE YOU SO SAD?

LIFE HURTS BAD. We are very confused. Our dreams are dashed. We are hopeless. This day is full of grief. We did believe. THE VEIL OF DEPRESSION HAS US DEFEATED. There are 7 miles of depression and disillusionment.

Luke 24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. (7 MILES) 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happene(d.) 15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. 16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. 17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? 18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known (PAST) the things which are come to pass there in these days? 19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21 But we trust(ed)that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. 22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; 23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. 24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.

25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? 33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.

35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

TWO BOYS HAVE A CHANGE OF HEART… THEY QUIT LOOKIG DOWN --- THEY HEARTS BURNED WITHIN THEM… THE SLOW 7 MILE WALK WAS MUCH DIFFERENT AS THEY HEARD JESUS EXPOUND: IT IS NOT OVER. MY FRIENDS, IF THE BLIND LEAD THE BLIND THEY WILL ALL END UP IN THE DITCH…DEPRESSION AND DENIAL WILL ALWAYS LIVE IN THE PAST. ONE GOOD THING WAS THEY INVITED JESUS TO STAY WITH THEM. Let us invite God’s son to dwell with us….

GOD’S UNSEEN HANDS HAVE A DIFFERENT PLAN THAN WALKING AROUND WITH YOUR HEAD HANGING DOWN.

Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Jesus defines some clear events that the church must be prepared to understand. The will be many signs of the times. Evil will abound. The signs will be distressing. FEAR WILL REIGN ON THE EARTH. I assure you that GOD IS IN CONTROL, GET YOUR HEAD UP. STAY FOCUSED ON ETERNITY. Jesus is coming for those that have their head raised up. God’s precious son is coming in power, glory.

We absolutely trust God’s power of deliverance, forgiveness, redemption. There is coming a cloud… the same way Jesus left he will return. The EASTERN GATE WILL OPEN FOR THE 8TH VISIT TO JERUSALEM.

Psalm 123:1 (NLT2) I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven. 2 We keep looking to the LORD our God for his mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master, as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal. 3 Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy, for we have had our fill of contempt.

THE MORE INFORMATION YOU HAVE THE BETTER YOUR CHOICES WILL BE. IGNORANCE IS DANGEROUS. WHY HANG YOUR HEAD.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

CONCLUSION: What kind of offering will we give? I read years ago it was CORONATION DAY in Great Britain. A new queen was going to be set in order. There were invitations sent out. There was a little note attached to the invitations: ALL EXCUSES CEASE. I ponder what might happen if we couldn’t give excuses anymore? What kind of offering is an excuse? Will we will the offering plates on the altar be filled with excuses? Are we forever trapped? Do you thing we can change?

THE TRUTH SETS YOU FREE. LET ME OFFER SOME WISDOM: WHATEVER COMES, LET IT COME. WHATEVER STAYS, LET IT STAY. WHATEVER GOES, LET IT GO.
