Summary: It is said: SOON OR LATER ALL THINGS COME TO AN END. In Genesis t is recorded after each name: AND HE DIED. Seems we are so invested in materialism that we over look THE ETERNAL VALUE SYSTEM. All things that we see will come to an end. BE READY.

COMING TO AN END? THE DARKER THE NIGHT, THE GREATER THE LIGHT

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes) Please read the bottom of the last page.

HOW DO I DEFINE MYSELF? THE ROLL CALL OF HUMANITY WILL ALWAYS CONCLUDE WITH THE SAME WORDS … AND HE DIED… ARE YOU READY?

Rich--poor, pretty—ugly, tall—short, smart or ignorant, --- WE ARE ALL ONE BREATH FROM HEAVEN OR HELL… Will we allow external issues to define us? This week will come to an end, as will this month and this year.

Genesis 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

Genesis 5:8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.

Genesis 5:11 And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.

The roll call of all humanity ALWAYS ENDS WITH THE SAME 3 WORDS: AND HE DIED…

THE WISEST MAN TO EVER LIVE CAME TO A STUPID CONCLUSION?

VANITY: useless, empty, excessive pride in your achievements, worthless, conceit. WHY WAS LIFE USELESS AND EMPTY TO SOLOMON? Solomon allowed the love of women to distort his vision.

Ecclesiastes 1:1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. 2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. 3 What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?

WHEN WE ACC WHEN WE REALIZE THAT ALL THINGS COME TO AN END, WE WILL ESTABLISH A VALUE SYSTEM THAT PUT GOD FIRST. THEN EVERYTHING ELSE WILL BE OK.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

ALL THINGS AS WE KNOW IT WILL COME TO AN END. IN WHAT WILL I INVEST MY TIME, TALENT AND ENERGY? EVER THINK ABOUT ETERNITY’S REQUIREMENTS? THERE ARE TWO APPOINTMENTS SET FOR EVERY PERSON: BE READY.

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

TIME IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN MONEY. NOW IS THE RIGHT TIME. WE ARE AT BEST STEWARDS. TIME IS A RARE GIFT OF GOD TO HUMANITY. REDEEMING THE TIME… LET US MAKE THE BEST USE OF WHATEVER TIME WE HAVE.

Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

DAVID LEARNED TO INVEST IN PRAYER AND THE WORD OF GOD…

Psalm 109:4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

DANIEL LEARNED TO INVEST HIS TIME, TALENTS AND ENERGY IN PRAYER NO MATTER THE COST. DANIEL COULD SEE INTO ETERNITY BEYOND HIS ENEMIES PLOT. Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. 11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.

IF WE ARE ANEMIC IN THE WORD OF GOD, WE WILL BE ANEMIC IN OUR DAILY LIFE.

Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

STUDY THE WORD.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

MEDITATE ON THE WORD. ENJOY BEING WITH GOD… CHEW, DIGEST,

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

PLEASE, LISTEN AS WE SEE THE END COME INTO FOCUS WE LEARN THAT GIVING IS NOT A SACRIFICE, GIVING IS LOVE.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

NO PERSON SHOULD EVER TAKE A GRUDGE TO THE GRAVE. WE MUST BE QUICK TO FORGIVE AND BE KIND.

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

I knew a man that had in his will a list of 12 men that he hated and he would not forgive them for past hurt. He had armed guards at the funeral home at the doors. If they came they were instructed to have them arrest.

I knew another man that was dying. He had been under hospice care several weeks. He made a written list of people that he had hurt. He had about 25 people on the list. He had someone call the one by one. He asked the people to come to the hospital so he could apologize and tell them he was sorry. 24 of the people came and they had a tearful reunion. One person refused to come? He ask me: WHAT DO I DO? I said: YOU TRIED! At the funeral that person cried the hardest. I knew the truth.

Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

MY FRIEND A LIFE WELL LIVED WILL ALWAYS BE FILLED WITH GRATITUDE AND THANKSGIVING EVEN WHEN LIFE CRUSHES US, DEATH VISITS THE CAMP. IT MAY BRING HURT AND DISAPPOINTMENTS WE MUST BE THANKFUL.

1 Chronicles 16:34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

NEVER FORGET WE ARE FROM DUST TO DUST…THIS TOO SHALL PASS HAS BECOME A MOTTO OF MINE… SEEEMS THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO EVERY COIN…

Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

For every sunrise there will come a sunset. It is said: The darkest hour is just before the sunrise. Life is not a perpetual case of sadness any more than life is always a joy ride.

Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may never come… BUT WE HAVE TODAY. JOY AND PEACE ARE A STATE OF MINE. We can make the choice of what emotions we let control. Let us come to the conclusion LIFE IS TEMPORARY AT BEST. Everything we can see on earth will eventually pass. June is here, then June is past. July is here, the next thing you know July has faded into history. We celebrate a NEW YEAR coming. The hopes and dreams of a NEW YEAR’S EXPECTATIONS will soon pass into the history books of our minds.

EVERY STORM WILL PASS. COUNT THE DAMAGE AND REBUILD. IT HAS BEEN SAID ALL THINGS COME TO AN END. ALL BAD THINGS COME TO AN END, ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END. NOTHING ON EARTH AS WE KNOW IT WILL LAST.

We seem to find joy that the bad storms and problems will eventually pass, but my friend history records good things will pass. That new shiny car will grow into a high mileage rust bucket. The strong handsome man will grow feeble and weary with time.

Sooner or later the blanket over will become sod. How true the proverbial statement becomes true.

YOU CAN RUN AND SHOUT BE IT ALL EQUALS OUT, NOBODY SLIDES MY FRIEND ( A SONG OF WILLIE NELSON.)

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

MY OLDEST SON WAS 14 AND A FRESHMAN IN 12/13/90. HE WAS REQUIRED TO WRITE A POEM FOR HIS ENGLISH CLASS. He work hard and long in his bedroom and gave up for the night. He went to school the next day. I gathered up the garbage out of his garbage can. There was an usual amount of paper. I looked at one of the pages and found what I felt like there was a poem worth keeping. I told him. He turned the poem in and made an A. The poem was submitted and printed in a couple of books. Listen to the words.

*MAKES ME THINK

By Wade Martin Hughes, Jr. (1990)

Death is something that will eventually be, now or later for you and me.

I wonder how? And I wonder how?

Accidentally? Naturally? How will I die?

Makes me think about how I will live?

Life is not only take, but also a time to give.

Without love, and without friends,

Life would be useless to all ends.

What happens after your last breath?

There are many questions about the subject of death?

Is it with ease? Or is it with great pain?

Is it all loss? Or is it great gain?

Life is so short, do what you can

Do something special to help your fellow man.

Death may come when you least expect!

So please treat all life: With a great deal of respect.

CONCLUSION: One day I will give my last gift, my last sermon. One day I will tie my shoes and the funeral director will untie them. One of these days I will take my last step, my heart will beat the last time. I will say my last words. The county coroner will pronounce the words: HE IS GONE. The tombstone will mark my resting plot of ground. HOW WILL I BE REMEMBERED? How will you be remembered?

Many know I am in the battle of my life. My journey has been months in the hospital, learning to walk again in rehab. I have had 3 surgeries. I had a CODE BLUE ONCE. My latest report said: REMISSION. Now I face heart issues and maybe a pacemaker. I am 73 and I have pastored 45 years, 35 years in “THE GROVE.” I LAID IN BED AS ONE DOCTOR SAID: STAGE FOUR, 3 MONTHS. I have a chemo/radiation port in my right shoulder. Sure, I ask for your prayers. My prayer is LET US GET SERIOUS ABOUT ETERNITY. THIS WAS MY DAD’S PRAYER ENDING: LORD HELP US LIVE WITH ETERNITY’S VALUES IN VIEW. FOR THERE IS TOO MUCH TO GAIN TO LOSE

Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
