DO WHAT YOU CAN!

WE NEED TO FOCUS OUR ATTENTION ON WHAT WE CAN DO, MAKING THE MOST OF WHAT WE HAVE. START WHERE WE ARE. WE MUST OVERCOME THE INERTIA OF PROCRASTINATION TO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS.
My friends we can’t overcome what we don’t control. We have choices to make with what is in our hands. Start by doing one thing. We must do something with what we have. A BIRD IN THE HAND IS WORTH TWO IN THE BUSH. Life is about your choices.
THERE IS ALWAYS SO MANY EXCUSES TO GIVE AS AN OFFERING.
Romans 2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
Perhaps many of us need to buy “THE IMPOSSIBLE SHIRT.” You might be surprised what impossible feat you might do it you just put forth the effort to accomplish more than you ever thought possible.
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
WHO DEFINES YOUR LIMITS? THREE THINGS KEEP US IN THE SHELL OF DO NOTHING. ONE, WATCHING AND WAITING FOR OTHERS. TWO, MAKING EXCUSES. THREE: PROCRASTINATION. I THING GOD IS CALLING: IT’S TIME TO DO SOMETHING IMPOSSIBLE. IT IS HIGH TIME TO STOP OFFERING EXCUSES AND TO START DOING SOMETHING. DO WE HEAR THE CALL TO TAKE ACTION AND TRY. BEFORE WE CAN FINISH WE HAVE TO START.
SMALL THINGS… RARELY DO WE START WITH GREAT CIRCUMSTANCES TO ACCOMPLISH GREAT THINGS… MOST OF THE TIME GREAT THINGS BEGIN WITH SMALL THINGS.

We cannot allow where I am to define where I want to be. Every opportunity will face the enemy’s adversities. FRUSTRATION IS THE FEELING WE GET WHEN WE TRIED OUR BEST AND OUR EFFORTS SEEM TO BE BROUGHT TO NAUGHT. WE MUST STAY THE COURSE AND PRESS AGAINST THE ODDS AND OBSTACLES.

Acts 9:36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. 37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. 38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. 39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. 41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive. 42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
TABITHA was not a show-off and her work was not noticed until her death. At her death it was noted she did what she could, when she could, where she could. There was a great miracle : FROM DETH TO LIFE because she had been faithful to her POST OF DUTY,
Tabitha (Doras) your good works and your alms deeds have been noticed by the God of heavens. There must be more sowing to do. Get up and grab your needle and thread.
Mother Teresa was asked: HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE A FAILURE. You have feed the poor and outcast for many years and there are more hungry, dying people now than when you started. Mother Teresa said: GOD HAS NOT CALLED ME TO BE SUCCESSFUL, GOD CALLED ME TO BE FAITHFUL TO MY POST OF DUTY.
DO WHAT YOU CAN, WHERE YOU CAN, WHEN YOU CAN…TALK ABOUT EXCUSES AND PROCRASTINATION MOSES HAD IT DOWN PAT. MOSES WHAT IS THAT IN YOUR HAND?
Exodus 4:1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. 2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. 3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. 4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: 5 That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee. 6 And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. MOSES, WHAT IS IN YOUR HAND? MOSES ANSWERS A ROD, STAFF… a miracle happens when Moses uses what he had, where it had it , when he had it. SUDDENLY A ROD TURNS INTO A SERPENT… The miracle released was because MOSES USED WHAT HE HAD… THE STAFF BECAME A SNAKE… THEN THE SNAKE TURNED BACK IINTO THE STAFF/ROD.
BECAUSE MOSES USED WHAT HE HAD, WHEN HE HAD IT, WHERE HE HAD IT… THERE WAS A CHANGE… THE ROD CHANGED FROM A ROD TO THE ROD OF GOD…
Exodus 17:9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.
Exodus 4:20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
PHARAOH'S MAGICIANS COULD DUPLICATE THE ROD TURNING INTO A SNAKE… BUT MOSES AND AARON COULD DOING WHAT THEY COULD, WHERE THEY COULD, WHEN THEY COULD --- COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED…
Exodus 7:10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. 11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. 12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.
A ROD, THAT BECOMES THE ROD OF GOD HAS MANY MORE MIRACLES…
THE ROD TURNS THE NILE TO BLOOD… Moses rod is up lifted and GOD PARTS THE RED SEA. MOSES LIFTS UP THE ROD AND HITS IT THE FIRST TIME… AND A RIVER OF WATER FLOWS TO SATISFY THE THIRST OF MILLIONS… ALL THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE MOSES USED WHAT HE HAD IN HIS HAND.
DO WHAT YOU CAN, WHERE YOU CAN, WHEN YOU CAN… IN THE HEAT OF A TERRIBLE BATTLE MOSES HELD UP HIS ARMS AND HIS ROD… GOD SENDS AARON AND HUR TO LIFT HIS ARMS UNTIL THERE IS A MIGHTY VICTORY… NOT MOSES, NOT THE TEAM…
Exodus 17:12 But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
WHAT YOU DO MATTERS…
One little Czech lady saved at least 10 lives in a WW2 BOMBER. IN 1943 A US BOMBER WAS HIT BY 11 EXPLOSIVES IN THE FUEL TANKS. THE EXPLOSIVE SHOULD HAVE DESTROYED THE BOMBER. NOT ONE EXPLODED. THE BOMBER LANDED SAFELY. WHEN THE 11 EXPLOSIVE WERE CUT OPEN, NOT ONE HAD ANY EXPLOSIVES IN THEM. ONE CONTAINED A NOTE WRITTEN BY A CZECH WOMAN SAYING: “THIS IS ALL WE CAN DO FOR YOU NOW.”
CONCLUSION: Terry Crigger wrote of a story following WW2. Seems some German students volunteered to help rebuild a cathedral in England. This great cathedral was nearly destroyed by German bombers. There was a large statue of Jesus with his hands extended. Below this Jesus statue with his hands extended were written these words: COME UNTO ME. The students did not know how to repair Jesus’ hands. The hands were utterly destroyed. There was much thought, could they repair Jesus hands or should they have another option. They made the decision to not repair the hands. They decided to change the inscription from “COME UNTO ME” TO THE WORDS: “CHRIST HAS NO OTHER HANDS BUT OURS.”
