TEAM WORK, UNITY, AGREEMENT

UNITY IS BEST ILLUSTRATED IN THE TRINITY OF GOD. ONE GOD, ETERNALLY EXISTING AS 3 PARTS, THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. WE MUST HAVE UNITY AS THE CHURCH, SOCIETY AND AS THE INDIVIDUAL. LOVE IS THE GLUE THAT BRINGS UNITY TO THE CHURCH, SOCIETY AND TO THE INDIVIDUAL.
*UNITY: togetherness, being together, state of being united, harmony
CHRISTIANS ARE CALLED TO LOVE AND FORGIVE IN THE MIDST OF CONFLICT, PEACE IN THE MIDDLE OF CONFLICT.
*HARMONY: positive inner peace, agreement of ideas, feelings or actions; to combine similar notes, to sound things that go together, agreement of opinions, calm, living together.
THERE IS AN IMPORTANT LESSON WE LEARN FROM GOD’S WORD… THE UNITY IN THE CAMP OF GOD WILL ALWAYS EXALT JESUS CHRIST. UNITY HAS ANOTHER PURPOSE IN THAT UNITY REFINES GOD’S PEOPLE. TO PURSUE UNITY OPENS THE DOORS TO KILL SELFISHNESS. GOD’S WAY AND GOD’S WORD CALLS FOR UNITY.
Ephesians 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Where there is unity there will be peace, forgiveness, gentleness, love, comfort, promotion and growth.
TEAM WORK, WE MUST REALIZE UNITY IS HOW WE LOVE AND SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER IN A BOND OF LOVE. UNITY IS HEALTHY AND TEACHES GROWTH. UNITY PULLS INDIVIDUALS TOGETHER AS ONE BODY, ONE UNIT.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Amos 3:3 (MSG) Do two people walk hand in hand if they aren't going to the same place?
AS CHRISTIANS WE ARE TO CELEBRATE UNITY IN THE CAMP OF GOD BY LIVING IN THE BLESSINGS OF JOY THAT COMES FROM LIVING IN HARMONY. UNITY WITHIN THE CHURCH, THE FAMILY AND WITHIN THE INDIVIDUAL PAYS.
Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
LET’S BE REAL UNITY… THE PURSUIT OF UNITY WILL NEVER BE EASY. WE KNOW THE NEW TESTAMENT REVEALS THAT UNITY IN GOD’S CAMP IS NEVER AN EASY ISSUE TO CONSIDER.
Remember EUODIAS and SYNTYCHE in Philippians 4:2 have some kind of disagreement between the two ladies. The preachers are trying to settle the disagreement.
Philippians 4:2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
PAUL ASKS THE COLOSSI ANS TO FORGIVE EACH OTHER AS JESUS CHRIST FORGIVES US.
Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
UNITY: ONE BODY: WE MUST LEARN TO AGREE NO MATTER WHAT DISAGREEMENTS AND DIFFERANCES WE WALK THROUGH.
Romans 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Where two or three agree together.
1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
ARE YOU AN ENCOURAGER? GRACE GIVER? OR A GRIPER, ARGUER , AND QUARRELER?
Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
WILL WE WEIGH OUR MOTIVES? WILL WE BE JOINED AND KNIT TOGETHER? WE MUST NEVER EVER QUIT. WE MUST WORK TOGETHER. MY FRIEND WE MUST LOVE DIVERSITY.
The book of Ephesians tries to reinforce unity in the society, the family and the individual.
Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:16 (MSG) He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.
THE SNAKE? THE SNAKE IS A SYMBOL OF THE LACK OF UNITY, CHAOS AND THE PRESENCE OF EVIL. WHERE THERE IS UNITY GOD CAN SHOW HIS STRENGTH. IN THE LACK OF UNITY THERE IS IN THE MIDST DOOM AND DISTRESS. GOD DOES HIS BEST WORK, WHEN WE COME IN UNITY. . HOW EASY IS IT WHEN SOMETHING NEGATIVE TRIES TO DESTROY OUR LOVE AND UNITY, BECAUSE WE FOCUS ON THE PROBLEM? THEN WE CAN LOSE OUR SELF-CONTROL AND ALLOW ARE HEART TO BE CHANGED. THE HEART OF THE PROBLEM IS THE PROBLEM OF THE HEART… IN UNITY. SHAKE IT OFF…
GOD WARNED HIS PEOPLE OF PUNISHMENT TO COME BECAUSE OF THEIR LACK OF UNITY IN THE CAMP. THE HABITUAL BELLYACHING AND BEING SO NEGATIVE AND COMPLAINING WOULD DESTROY THE UNITY AND BRING JUDGMENT.
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
THERE IS A CURE FOR THE BELLYACHING AND COMPLAINING… GOD CAN RESTORE THE UNITY.
Numbers 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
THE SNAKE DOES NOT HAVE TO DESTROY UNITY… WE CAN SHAKE IT OFF. ALL THE BELLYACHING AND CHAOS OF THE EVIL CAN BE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR GOD TO SHOW HIMSELF STRONG.
Acts 28:5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. 6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
THE SNAKE THAT DESTROYED UNITY IN THE BIBLE CAN BE THE INSTRUMENT THAT BRINGS PEACE AND UNITY TO THE CHURCH
The snake in the Bible represents CHAOS and EVIL to destroy the unity of the spirit. The New Testament can bring a new opportunity to operate and bring JOY, PEACE, UNITY AND HARMONY to society, the church and to the individual.
John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Conclusion: God designed the church and the family to operate as a single unit. We have been called to come together. Our call is for TEAM WORK. T-E-A-M … Together Each Accomplishes More. SYNERGY, THE COOPERATION OF TWO OR MORE TO PRODUCE A COMBINED EFFECT GREATER THAN THE SUM OF THEIR SEPARATE EFFECTS. UNITY: WORKING TOGETHER CREATES GREATER THAN EITHER OF YOU TOGETHER.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
