What The Lord Knows.
Palm 1:1-6NKJV
What does the Lord know? Maybe a better question is, “What does the Lord not know.” He’s Creator of physics, nuclear science, he designed Jets and rockets plus anything else that comes into the future. God did it first; God is the Master Designer!
Psalm 1:1-6NKJV Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither;?And whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Notice, Psalm 1.1 Howard’s paraphrase: Blessed, Happy, Fortunate to be envied is the man or woman who stays true to God and to His Word.
Believer’s refuse to take any counsel from the ungodly! The believer refuses to walk, stand or sit in the seat of the scornful. For the growing believer won’t make any room for non-sense.
Again, walk not, sit not, nor stand not with the wicked. In all the pathways of life, choose life!
Psalm 1.1TPT What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! He won’t walk in step with the wicked, nor share the sinner’s way,
nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat.
There are at least 3 must, from Psalm 1.
1- We must be separated from the world
2- We must be saturated with the word
3- We must rejoice by the waters
Psalm 1.1, We must be separated from the world.
Let them cuss, let them hate, let them be prideful, let them scorn. However, the Godly will stand fast against all the wiles of the devil.
Wiles are tricks or manipulations designed to deceive someone. Wiles of the devil are those clever schemes used by Satan to ensnare us through temptation, threat, or intimidation.
Psalm 1.1MSG How well God must like you- you don’t walk in the ruts of those blind-as-bats, you don’t stand with the good-for-nothings, you don’t take your seat among the know-it-alls.
Again, 1. Being separated from the world is a good thing.
The optimist says, the cup is half full. The pessimist says, the cup is half empty. The child of God says; “My cup runneth over.”
Within everyone’s future, the most important words to remember to live by is:
For the Lord knows... He knows my future, He knows my pain, my anxieties, He even knows the day and time I will enter my heavenly home! (If you’re a believer, it will be your permeant address).
“You might not know but He (God) knows.” P.H
Hear Job’s testimony, Job 23.10AMP But He knows the way that I take [He has concern for it, appreciates, and pays attention to it]. When He has tried me, I shall come forth as refined gold [pure and luminous].
For every saint in this house, the Lord knows. (You can’t know, nor would you want to know), but the Lord knows! He knows the end from the beginning.
Take a deep breath and hear, Hebrews 2.10NLT God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, (the Captain of their salvation), through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.
My Savior, your Savior, was found fit (through His sufferings), Jesus was the perfect leader.
Psalm 1.2AMP But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.
2- We must be saturated with the word.
Preachers/teachers, to produce growth within, and growth throughout God’s church, you must stay saturated and passionate for God’s Word.
God will know it, and people will see it, and be drawn to it! P.H
But his or her delight. -What’s truly your delight? Those who take delight in God’s word, meditating day and night will grow, grow upward and downward.
AW Tozer once wrote, “The widest thing in the universe is not space; it is the potential capacity of the human heart. Being made in the image of God, it is capable of almost unlimited extension in all directions. And one of the world’s greatest tragedies is that we allow our hearts to shrink until there is room in them for little besides ourselves.”
Again, number 2. Be saturated with God's word.
Hebrews 4.12-13TLV For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword—piercing right through to a separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 No creature is hidden from Him, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
Know this, This powerful word will judge the saint and the sinner alike. The unrepentant will be condemned throughout eternity for rejecting God’s powerful Word!
Jeremiah 23.28c-29NLT ...What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the Lord. 29Does not my word burn like fire?” says the LORD. “Is it not like a mighty hammer that smashes a rock to pieces?
Here’s a promise, The 3 L’s, 1. Learn God’s Word, 2. Love God’s Word. 3. Live up to God’s Word.
3- We must be situated by the waters
Psalm 1.3TPT He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.
Did you know:
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even mild dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 3%.
4. One glass of water, shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily, decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
Psalm 92:13-15NKJV Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, 15 To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
Again, we must:
1- We must be separated from the world
2- We must be saturated with the word
3- We must be situated by the waters
Psalm 1:4-5, Is about the ungodly. Those that commit spiritual suicide. Who say no, to Godliness, Who say no, to God’s Word. Those that refuse to get wet.
Psalm1.4TPT But how different are the wicked. They are like chaff blown away by the wind.
Chaff is lifeless, only a shell without the kernel. -Chaff depicts a life without Jesus.
Psalm 1.5TPT The wicked will not endure the day of judgment, for God will not defend them.
Nothing they do will succeed, or endure for long, for they have no part with those who walk in truth.
Verse 6, gives each reader the contrast and the results of two choices:
Psalm 1.6TPT But how different it is for the righteous! The Lord embraces their paths as they move forward while the way of the wicked leads only to doom.
The righteous- Everlasting life, favor, and prosperity, heaven, or The way of the wicked- doom and destruction.
The Rev. Dwight L. Moody loved to study the Bible topically, and it occurred to him one day that he had never studied the subject of grace. Setting aside a day, Moody gave himself to the study of God’s grace. But one day was not enough. He studied for three days and was so filled with his subject that he had to go out on the street and talk to somebody about it. Stopping a complete stranger, Moody said, "My friend, do you know anything about grace?"
Surprised at the question, the man replied, "Grace who?" "Why," Moody responded, "the grace of God that brings salvation." (Titus 2:11)
God can, and will, if we will:
1- Be separated from the world
2- Be saturated with His word
3- Be situated by the water of His Spirit
Many times we are weak in life. We have things happen to us that drain the life right out of us: Losing loved ones in death, difficulties at home, at work, A lost child, etc.
It is then the Holy Spirit comes to our aid. When we are so weak and worn out that we can’t even pray, so the Holy Spirit tells the Father how bad we feel.
Again, Psalm 1.6...the Lord knows the way of the righteous...
2 Timothy 2.19NLT But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.
Benediction. From this very moment we will follow the aide of the Holy Spirit!
