Summary: This will be our third sermon in this series on “The Laws of Almighty God.” So far we have looked at two laws. 1. WE REAP WHAT WE SOW. 2. WE REAP IN A DIFFERENT SEASON THAN WHEN WE SOW.

Again, I remind you that a law is something that has been established that works every time for everyone!

If it does not work every time for everyone it is not a law.

A law is not a…

• Hypothesis (educated guess like evolution)

• It is not a theory (Has some facts)

• A law is an establish fact that works all the time for everyone!

God has established certain spiritual laws that apply to EVERYONE in every SITUATION.

Let me illustrate…

Illus: Sir Robert Watson Watt, the inventor of speed for radar was arrested himself for speeding. He was caught in a radar trap that he invented for everyone else!!!

He was a victim of his own invention."

AGAIN, The LAWS OF ALMIGHTY GOD ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE!!!

Illus: Sometime the speed laws are not enforced because a patrolman may pull over some politician over for speeding 95 in a 65-mile speed zone. But once the patrolman finds out who he is he does not even receive a warning ticket.

The law of Almighty God applies to everyone…

• It might be the president of the United States

• It might be the governor of our lovable state

• It might be a prominent citizen

• It might be a deacon

• It might be a preacher

The law of Almighty God applies to everyone!!!

God does not hire a pollster like these politicians do before they make a law to see what man thinks!!!

Let me illustrate…

Illus: With the overturn of Roe V. Wade by the U.S. Supreme Court in June of 2022, abortion policies and reproductive rights are placed in the hands of each state on how to handle the issue of abortion.

God does not take a poll to see what each state think about abortion.

To make it as clear as I know how…GOD DOES NOT CARE WHAT EACH STATE THINKS ABOUT ABORTION!!!

His Laws applies to each state and to each individual.

Let me ask you a few questions about abortion whether it is RIGHT or WRONG before we get off the subject of abortion?

WHAT DETERMINES LIFE AND DEATH?

Illus: When a doctor put a stethoscope on your chest…

• He hears a heartbeat he knows the heartbeat determines that a person is ALIVE! (Everyone agrees on that!)

• If he puts that stethoscope on your chest and he does not hear a heartbeat he knows the person is DEAD! (Everyone agrees on that!)

The heartbeat is the determining factor in both life and death!!!

One of the miracles of God’s creation is the formation of a baby within its mother’s womb.

Illus: We are told by the medical world a baby's heartbeat starts as early as to 4 weeks after conception.

When a mother finds out she is pregnant her baby's heartbeat may be one of the first milestones she is pregnant.

A baby's developing heart is up and running quickly because it's needed to deliver oxygenated blood and nutrients to other developing organs.

At conception God allows an entire human being to form from a tiny drop inside the safe and cozy environment of a woman’s body.

After only 12 days of conception God protects the baby in a bag or sac in a clear liquid called amniotic fluid. The baby floats in this fluid while resting in the womb.

Amniotic fluid protects and nourishes the baby.

However, abortion is when a doctor BRUTALLY INVADES the womb of a mother for some ungodly reason that God has protected in this soft cozy womb and stops that innocent baby’s heart in such a way that it is so disgusting it is not proper to even speak about it in congregation like this.

This horrible invasion can take place in the 9th month of a woman’s pregnancy.

Some call this procedure a WOMAN’S RIGHT, but God almighty calls it murder when you stop the heartbeat of a helpless baby.

Illus: One lady that I read about has had six abortions. I personally believe in the sight of God she is a serial killer!!!

Listen, it may be a woman in this congregation has had an abortion and you deeply regret making that decision and I am glad that you do!

If you had the choice to make that same decision again, you would not make it.

You need to do two things…

1) First, ask God to forgive you for this horrible sin you committed.

2) Secondly, dedicate your life in helping young women that are pregnant NOT to make the same mistake you made.

I have spent some time on the subject of abortion for a reason this morning.

Why?

Because we are soon going to have a national election. As a Christian do not be an ACCOMPLICENCE in killing innocent babies by voting for a candidate that promotes abortion.

The LAWS OF ALMIGHTY GOD APPLIES TO EVERYONE!!! Even to those who support killing of helpless babies.

Again, we have looked at…

I. We reap what we sow

II. We reap later than we sow

The third law we want to consider today is...

III. WE REAP MORE THAN WHAT WE SOW.

In a few minutes I want to show you from the scriptures that we reap more than what we sow.

In the natural world this can easily be proven by any farmer.

Illus: What farmer would go through the trouble of planting ONE SEED if all he reaped was OND SEED for the one he planted.

Every farmer knows God has created this law that works for every farmer. It is the law that WE REAP MORE THAN WE SOW.

This is one of the LAWS OF ALMIGHTY GOD, that any time you sow a seed, you get back much more than you planted.

This law works in two ways.

It works...

A. In the positive.

Again, I am so thankful for this LAW OF SOWING AND REAPING. I KNOW DAILY EVERY GOOD SEED I SOW I AM GOING TO REAP MORE THAN I SOW.

This law should motivate every child of God to sow as many good seeds as they can sow each day.

Illus: Makes me think of if you have a 401 retirement plan the company that you work for offer their employees, EVERY DOLLAR THEY PUT IN THEIR RETIREMENT FUND THEY WILL MATCH THAT DOLLAR!

But God does more than that when we SOW ONE GOOD SEED, WE WILL GET MORE THAN WE SOWED!

Illus: Some folks have stated:

• I feel good when I attend church.

• I feel good when I tithe every Sunday.

• I feel good when I read my Bible and pray each day.

• I feel good when I talk to others about Jesus.

Have you ever felt good when you did these things?

It is because they sowed a good seed, and they reap the benefit of that seed.

The GOOD SEEDS WE SOW THE MORE WE REAP!!!

HOWEVER, a lot of folks have abused this scriptural teaching ON GIVING AND RECEIVING MORE THAN WE SOWED!

For example, we sometimes hear these HUCKSTERS on television that call themselves preachers who would have you believe this LAW OF GIVING is like a LAS VEGAS RELIGION.

Illus: You send them $1,000 dollars and “LO AND BEHOLD” NEXT WEEK IN SOME MYSTERIOUS WAY YOU WILL REAP $10,000 dollars.

Hey! Don’t tell me this world is not full of dumb people. Every time I see these packed-out coliseums with people who believe you can send these false prophets on television PREACHING SEND ME A THOUSAND AND REAP $10,000 IT CONFIRMS THE WORLD IS FULL OF DUMB PEOPLE.

These HUCKSTERS on television know the world is full of dumb people and they are taking advantage of their ignorance.

NOTE: Have you ever noticed that they do not tell you that your “seed” will be multiplied if you sow into your local church.

No!!! It has to be sent to them!!!

These hucksters will stand before God one day and give account of their ABUSING the scriptures that teach, WE SOW AND WE REAP MORE THAN WHAT WE HAVE SOWNED!

HOWEVER, the truth of REAPING MORE THAN YOU SOW IS AN ESTABLISHED LAW OF ALMIGHTY GOD.

It is a good law!!!

Let me show you two ways it is a good law…

(1) One of the greatest lessons to learn in life is the lesson of the blessing of giving.

God has so designed His church that it is supported by the love and giving of God’s people.

This church is fortunate to have believers and has been abundantly blessed by God in their giving.

• When we talk about giving to His church, we are talking about a church that teach and preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

• To give to a church that does not teach and preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus makes believers a partaker of spreading a false religion.

God’s Word tells us HOW WE ARE TO GIVE!!!

God’s Word says in 2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Notice the words, “He which soweth”

• SPARINGLY shall reap also sparingly

• And he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

This passage of scripture is teaching WE REAP WHAT WE SOW BUT WE REAP MORE THAN WE HAVE SOWNED!

A lot of folks consider giving to be a burden.

Illus: An old legend says that at creation the birds felt cheated and hurt because they received wings. Wings to them seemed to be burdens which none of the other animals were asked to carry.

All was changed, however, when the birds learned that wings were not burdens, but blessings by which they were borne to the sky. Because they had been given wings, they could rise above the earth and see sights which no other animal could see.

What seemed to be a burden were really a blessing.

It is the same in giving. Giving is not a burden, but a blessing.

God’s law is that we sow and reaped more than we sowed.

God has promised us that any time we give, we get back more than we give.

Look what the Lord told the children of Israel in Malachi 3:10-12. We read, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Notice, God did not say to send the tithes to a television preacher, but to “BRING YE ALL THE TITHES INTO THE STOREHOUSE,” OF GOD, and God has promised if you obey His Word, you will REAP MORE THAN YOU SOWED.

Look at Luke 6:38. We read, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

It is one of the LAWS OF ALMIGHTY GOD that WE REAP MORE THAN WE SOW!

The heartbeat of God is for His church to spread this gospel of Christ who died for every lost sinner on the face of the earth to hear the gospel of Christ.

And when we support HIS CHURCH in that effort, we become a partner with Him and He has promised to abundantly bless us in doing so!!!

The law of almighty God of REAPING MORE THAN WE SOW applies in the POSITIVE when it comes to MONEY.

BUT!!! It also applies to more than just money…

(2) For example, it applies to GOOD DEEDS!

As a pastor I learned a long time ago, if I ask a person to do something the best way to get them to do what I asked them to do…is DO SOMETHING FOR THEM!

Let me illustrate…

Illus: Dr. Odell Belger tells when he was a young pastor, he walked into a country store one FRIDAY afternoon and four men that he knew were talking about going COON hunting.

Later on, in the conversation church came up and he took the advantage to invite all four of them to come to church.

They asked him to go Coon hunting with them. But the invitation seems like a waste of time.

But one of them said, “Tell you what Pastor, you go Coon hunting with us, and we all will be in church this coming Sunday.”

All of a sudden, the invitation appeared to be more enticing. He agreed!

It was a cold night and not anybody in their right mind should be out in the woods chasing some Coon. But here they were…

Finally, the dogs began to chase a Coon up a tree.

They caught up with the coon and the poor Coon tried to hide in the forks in top of a tree, but he was too big for the fork to hide him.

He was like the lady who wore a short dress to church and too much was showing in the rear. She was asked about the short dress, and she said, “Yeah! I have more rear than I do dress!”

The poor coon had more rear than he did tree!!!

They kept shooting at him and he kept positioning himself to hide from the gun shots and finally he fell to the ground.

And four dogs grabbed a leg, and they all went North, South, East and West.

But sure, enough all four of these hunters were in church and later came to know the Lord as their Savior.

Sometime if you want someone to do something for you, you have to do something for them.

Illus: There is an old saying, “Smile and the whole world will smile with you!”

When we sow good deeds, we are sowing good seeds.

It is the LAW OF ALMIGHTY GOD that every time we sow good seeds, we REAP MORE THAN WE SOW!

This law works in the POSITIVE, but it also works...

B. In the NEGATIVE.

Just like this law works in the POSITIVE it also works in the NEGATIVE when we so bad seeds. WE GET MORE THAN WE SOWED!!!

In Hosea 8:7, we read, “For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.”

Let me give you two examples of REAPING IN THE NEGATIVE MORE THAN WE SOWED.

We see this...

1. In the life of King David.

That is, when King David chose to commit adultery with Bathsheba, he evidently forgot if we SOW TO THE WIND WE REAP THE WHIRLWIND.

Let me illustrate…

Illus: I did some research this week and did you know that when farmer sows a corn seed the average ear of corn…

• Will produce 16 rows of kernels of corn.

• Each ear of corn will have 800 Kernels.

• Each stalk of corn will produce 6 to 10 ears of corn.

Now let me give you a Bible example of sowing and reaping more than we sowed.

Let me illustrate…

Look at what came from that act of adultery that King David sowed with Bathsheba.

God sent his prophet Nathan, and he told him of a man who did a terrible thing.

When David heard what this man did, David wanted to know who he was, and Nathan pointed his boney finger in his face him and said to him THOU ART THE MAN.

But He did not stop there look at II Sam. 12:9, “Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.”

Notice some of the things he had to reap from that seed of adultery.

(1) The sword of the Lord never departed from his house.

Many members of his family were killed.

God said that as long as he lived, he was going to REAP MORE THAN HE SOWED.

Look at II Sam. 12:10, “Now THEREFORE THE SWORD SHALL NEVER DEPART FROM THINE HOUSE; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.”

One member we know through the record in the scripture was his son.

Look at II Sam. 12:14, “Howbeit, because by this deed THOU HAST GIVEN GREAT OCCASION TO THE ENEMIES OF THE LORD TO BLASPHEME, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.”

(2) His wives would be kidnapped and molested.

Look at II Sam. 12:9. We read, “Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.”

That was what David did, now look at what God said God said He would DO!!!

Look at II Sam 12:11. We read, “Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I WILL TAKE THY WIVES BEFORE THINE EYES, AND GIVE THEM UNTO THY NEIGHBOUR, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.”

(3) His punishment would be publicly.

Look at II Sam. 12:12. We read, “For THOU DIDST IT SECRETLY: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.”

HOW WOULD GOD DO IT?

HE WOULD DO IT OPENLY!

His wives would be defiled openly before all Israel.

Look at II Sam. 12:11-12. We read, “Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy Neighbour, AND HE SHALL LIE WITH THY WIVES IN THE SIGHT OF THIS SUN. For thou didst it secretly: but I WILL DO THIS THING BEFORE ALL ISRAEL, AND BEFORE THE SUN.” (HE DID HIS EVIL IN DARKNESS BUT SUN REPRESENT DAYLIGHT)

What a tremendous price David and his family paid for the sin David committed with Bathsheba and for Uriah’s murder.

If he had known the price he was going to have to pay, he would never have committed this sin!

Illus: Dr. Odell Belger and his wife was in the mountains of North Carolina. They were with man and his wife, and they wanted to go out for a good evening meal.

Dr. Belger asked one of the men who lived there where was a good restaurant where we could have a good meal.

The man told him and his wife and this couple with them and they went to this restaurant. It was a nice place, and they were seated.

The nice waitress introduce herself and took our order.

The meal was brought to their table, and it looked good and very delicious.

The man with Dr. Belger and his wife is one of these fellows who never said anything during the whole meal.

When they ate their meal and about forty-five minutes to an hour this man who hardly ever said anything finally spoke and said THAT WAS A GOOD MEAL!

About that time the waitress handed him his meal ticket and he saw it was almost fifty dollars he finally spoke and said IT WAS NOT THAT GOOD!!!

In other words, if he knew the PRICE he was having to pay he never would have ordered the meal.

If lost people had any idea what they are going to PAY FOR THEIR SINS they would have never participated.

We sow seeds of sin into the wind, but we reap a whirlwind.

David’s life of sin represent we REAP WHAT WE SOW BUT ALSO REAP MORE THAN WHAT WE HAVE SOWED.

Also, we see we REAP MORE HAN WE HAVE SOWNED…

2. In the life of Jacob.

In Genesis 27, Isaac and Rebekah had two sons. There was as much difference between as daylight and darkness.

Isaac favored Esau because he was an outdoors man. He was a very hairy individual.

• Rebekah favored Jacob because he was a MOMMY BOY!

• Esau being the oldest was entitled to the family birth right.

Rebekah wanted Jacob to receive the birth right even though he was not entitled to it.

So, she decided to sow some bad seeds and deceive her husband Isaac into giving the birth right to Jacob.

Isaac could no long see so she made Jacob to appear before Isaac as Esau so he could get the birthright.

Look at Genesis 27:5-35. We read, “And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it. And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying, bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee. Go now to the flock and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth: And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death. And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man: My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing. And his mother said unto him, upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them. And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savoury meat, such as his father loved. And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son: And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck: And she gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob. And he came unto his father, and said, my father: and he said, here am I; who art thou, my son? And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy firstborn; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me. And Isaac said unto his son, how is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. And Isaac said unto Jacob, come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, the voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him. And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am. And he said, bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat, and he brought him wine, and he drank. And his father Isaac said unto him, come near now, and kiss me, my son. And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed: Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee. And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting. And he also had made savoury meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me. And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau. And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed. And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father. And he said, thy brother came with subtlety, and hath taken away thy blessing.”

When Rebekah and Jacob sowed seeds of deception, they reaped more than they ever dreamed they could possibly reap.

Esau was so angry that Jacob had to flee for his life.

Look at Genesis 27:42-44. We read, “And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; and arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran; And tarry with him a few days, until thy brother's fury turns away.”

She warned Jacob to flee “a few days” until Esau got over being mad then she would send for him.

He was gone for over twenty years. Rebekah never saw her son again!

We sow our seeds of sin to the wind, but we reap them in a whirlwind.

It is a law of ALMIGHTY GOD. We REAP MORE THAN WE SOW.

Mankind is always trying to find ways to disobeys laws without paying the price.

Let me illustrate…

(1) Ever hear of something called “jogging in a jug”?

“Jogging in a Jug” is a concoction of 4 parts grape juice, 4 parts apple juice, and 1 part apple cider vinegar.

• It’s a folk’s remedy for high cholesterol; a kind of “Drano” for your arteries.

• Supposedly, two ounces a day of this stuff and your insides will be as slick and clean as a whistle.

Now, I don’t know if it works.

But wouldn’t it be great if it did?

• Wouldn’t it be great if you could gain all the benefits of jogging without actually having to exercise!

• If you could lower your cholesterol and improve your health without having to strap on your Nikes.

If instead, you could “just drink it”?

• Not getting up before dawn to drive to the gym.

• No hours of pain on the Stairmaster.

• Just a shot glass of vinegar and it’s “please pass the jelly doughnuts!”

Let me give you another example…

(2) It used to be that if you ate junk food, you got fat.

Now, we have Olestra, a fat substitute, so we can eat greasy potato chips and ice cream to our heart’s content without raising our cholesterol.

Over the years, we’ve developed a multitude of artificial sweeteners – cyclamates, saccharin, aspartame – So we can drink all the sodas we want without rotting our teeth and expanding our middles.

And if you do happen to eat something with actual fat or calories, you don’t need to go to the gym to lose weight.

All that sweating and huffing and puffing is in the past…Now, you just make an appointment with your friendly local liposuctionist, and for a couple of thousand dollars, he’ll suck all that fat right off your body.

In short, what we’re constantly trying to do is:

• Repeal the law of sowing and reaping,

• Separate the connection between action and consequence.

Not just with eating and drinking, but in every area of life.

It’s a universal human urge: people want to enjoy the benefits without paying the price.

Again, let me illustrate…

(3) Why is the lottery so popular?

It’s an opportunity to become wealthy without labor.

There are other ways to acquire wealth, but they’re not nearly as appealing, because they all involve work.

That’s why we love game shows like “Who wants to be a millionaire?” Just answer a dozen trivia questions, and you’re rich.

But we should ask ourselves why these shows are so popular.

• It’s the appeal of having wealth without having to earn it.

• It’s the appeal of breaking that link between work and reward

Almighty God tells us “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps more than what he sows”.

• The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction.

• The one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Galatians 6:7-9 tells us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

And the law of SOWING AND REAPING MORE THAN WE SOW will work for all of us who know Christ as our Savior and we enter that glorious place call heaven.

• It Works in the POSTIVE

• It works in the NEGATIVE

It does not matter how much you do for Christ here on earth when you enter heaven you will come to realize YOU ARE REAPING MORE THAN YOU SOWED IN THIS LIFE.

Illus: You ever see the ads on television of TUNNEL TO TOWERS where they provide a home for our veterans that came home with no legs or arms.

They walk in this beautiful home, and you know what they are going to say when they enter…WOW!

But heaven is going to be WOW! WOW! WOW!
