Summary: Gods Word is like a Seed. And this Seed has to be aimed by you, the seed has to have direction. Purpose, and a plan. The seeds are the potential miracles...

The Heavenly Seed.

Matthew 13.

Gods Word is like a Seed. And this Seed has to be aimed by you, the seed has to have direction. Purpose, and a plan.

As you become a gardener, you begin by spotting a good fertile plot of land. After the gardener plows, uses fertilizer, and makes rows, now time for the seeds. And finally God’s majestic water!

The seeds are the potential miracles. Each one is filled with the potential for life, growth, blossoming, and fruitfulness.

"The seed you sow today will not produce crop till tomorrow. For this reason, your identity does not lie in your current results. This is not who you are. Your current results are who you were.” (Sermon Central Staff)

It’s all there in the seed- the plan, everything it will become. The plant, the flower, the tree, you see- it’s all there inside its shell.

Now what happens if the seed stays in the bag? Nothing. Nothing happens. The seed remains alone.

John 12:24NLT “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone.

Please hear this, This seeds death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives.”

If nothing happens to the seed, no burial, nothing. -All its potential stays unrealized! Unrealized potential.

Here’s this evenings text.

Matthew 13:3-12NKJB “Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” 10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” 11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”

Here’s the parable of the sower explained:

Matthew 13:18-23 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.””

Here’s the key, If we take the seed and plant it in the soil, everything changes! P.H

"Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.” -Robert Louis Stevenson

The seed becomes one with the earth. The shell opens up and the life inside the seed joins itself to the soil around it. -It puts out roots and draws in life from the earth.

Hear this, The plan is activated, the promise unlocked and the potential becomes reality!

Here’s what I want you to realize, It’s time to get ready, and to plant your seeds!

Illustration, I reach into my bag and pull out a Bible. What’s inside this? The Word. Seeds.

-The Word of God is often referred to as a seed.

The Bible is the container of many seeds. And every seed, every word is a potential miracle, so is the word of God. -Each word has a potential to produce life, growth, blossoming, fruitfulness, and a miracle.

And it’s all inside the seed, inside the Word. However if the seed stays inside the bag…?

1 Peter 1:23-25NKJV “having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the Word of God which lives and abides forever, 24 because “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, 25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word (seed) which by the gospel was preached to you.”

If the word stays on the pages and is never sown to life, then it’s life stays unlocked, unrealized.

Therefore the word must be sown. Sown to what soil?

Sown into the lives of others… and to the soil of your own life.

Again, the seed must become ‘one’ with the soil. So the word must become ‘one’ with your life.

Here’s the instructions I want to sow in all of you. Therefore, you need to sow the Word into every situation of your life and let it become one with the soil- the soil of your heart, your thoughts, your emotions, your life!

For when the Word becomes one with your life, then its shell will break open, its plan will be activated, its promise unlocked, its life released, and it’s miracle begun.

Here’s your assignment, Today, take a Seed from the Word of God and plant it in the soil of your heart.

Let its promises be unlocked, and bear its fruit in your life, and then in others.

In my first pastorate at Towes Chapel COG in Adairsville, Ga. Occasionally we had a Sunday night watermelon fellowship. We fellowshipped together eating watermelon. During our time, we began a watermelon seed-spitting contest. Unknown to us, a few seed made their way into the soil between a brick wall and the driveway. A few weeks later we had watermelon plants growing in the drive. A few months later we were eating watermelons harvested from those plants.

You will never harvest cantaloupes or tomatoes from a watermelon plant. It will always be a watermelon.

In the same way, God’s Word always produces spiritual results. Many will imitate the spiritual but their “fruit” will not be godly.

I leave you with this,

Seeds have great potential, plant them.

Seeds have to be released. There’s no hope inside a bag.

Make it personal, Every word you say, become seeds.

Jesus is the redeemer of every seed.

Benediction. “Father, this evening I release the Seed, Your Seed, into all my potential, all my dreams, all my desires, my family, my job. All my plans go into your hands. In Jesus name, Amen.
