The Children Of Leah.

Revelation 5:1-5TPT

Who are the children of Leah? Who is Leah? She was one of the matriarchs of Israel. -Leah was married to Jacob.

However, Jacob loved Rachel. In the meanwhile, Laban, Jacobs future Father-In-Law changes Jacobs wages 10 times. Always to Jacobs detriment.

Over and over again Laban tricked Jacob deceiving him, manipulating him, not for days or weeks or months, but for years, Jacob was manipulated by his father-in-law, Laban.

Genesis 29 through chapter 31, gives us the account of Jacob working for Laban. Jacob worked 14 years to marry Rachel!

“O but what about Leah?” Leah is married to Jacob, but she’s unwanted and unloved! Tolerated not celebrated. Mounds of hurt mounds of frustration and jealousy. Jacob married to Leah, only for Jacob to love Rachel.

Isaiah 53:3-5NLT He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. 4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins.

Noticed through out Isaiah 53, Our responds, but then His responds.

We thought it was God’s punishment.

We despised, and rejected Him.

We turned our backs, looked the other way.

Take note, He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. He did it for our weakness’. Our sorrows.  But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins.

In Revelation 4-5, After John addresses, the seven churches of Asia, Moreover, all 7 churches can be a compared to the 21st-century church.

Revelation 5, John was in the spirit on the Lords day, and he saw angels worshiping the Most High King. -King Jesus.

In Revelation chapter 5, the question is ask, “Is anyone worthy to open the seals and see the end from the beginning. -Is there anyone who save, rescue and deliver?

Revelation 5:1-5 “And I saw that the one seated on the throne was holding in his right hand an unopened scroll with writing on the inside and on the outside, and it was sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw an incredibly powerful angel proclaiming with a great, loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and able to break its seven seals?” 3 But no person could be found, living or dead, in all of creation —no one was worthy to open the scroll and read its contents. 4 So I broke down weeping with intense sorrow, because there was found no one worthy to break open the scroll and read its contents. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Stop weeping. Look! The mighty Lion of Judah’s tribe, the root of David—he has conquered! He is the worthy one who can open the scroll and its seven seals.””

Notice verse 5b again, ….The mighty Lion of Judah’s tribe, the root of David—he has conquered!….

Where did this Lion of Judah come from? How about the Root of David? -How about those names? What is it with those names?

Again, what about Leah? Poor Leah. Unloved, unwanted, and a participate in a love triangle, the dangerous kind. Leah was the scorn. Yes, Leah had the unhappy distinction of being unloved. -And she knew it.

It was a deep wound. She always carried, the unceasing sorrow of her life. -We have no idea how many tears Leah cried because of it, but undoubtably they were many.

But then something happened… Leah became fruitful, even more fruitful than Rachel.

Genesis 29:31-35NLT When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, he enabled her to have children, but Rachel could not conceive. 32 So Leah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Reuben, for she said, “The Lord has noticed my misery, and now my husband will love me.” 33 She soon became pregnant again and gave birth to another son. She named him Simeon, for she said, “The Lord heard that I was unloved and has given me another son.” 34 Then she became pregnant a third time and gave birth to another son. He was named Levi, for she said, “Surely this time my husband will feel affection for me, since I have given him three sons!” 35 Once again Leah became pregnant and gave birth to another son. She named him Judah, for she said, “Now I will praise the Lord!” And then she stopped having children.”

What’s up with this Leah? Her season has changed. In spite of being unloved, second best, God made Leah fruitful! Leah is more fruitful than Rachel.

Hear this, This unloved Leah bore her third son, she named him Levi. From Levi came the priesthood of Israel, and from Levi was born Moses. Through Moses came the Passover, the Exodus, the 10 Commandments, the law, the sacrifices, the holy days, and the Tabernacle… The priesthood, the high priest, and the Temple.

(Profound truth) -Through Moses, the children of Israel would enter the promised land. And through Moses came the word of God, the Bible.

Remember, this all transpired because of a unwanted, unloved lady named, Leah! Undoubtedly, While living in an everlasting jilted stated, Leah became fruitful! I believe Leah was found faithful to God and Jacob. P.H

John Wesley once said: “Give me a hundred men who love nothing but God and hate nothing but sin, and I will shake the whole world for Christ."

Listen, “What about Leah?” How about 100 Leah’s?

Who else did Leah bear? -Judah. -This unloved woman bore Judah.

And from Judah came David. And from David came the royal house of Israel, the kings and princes of God‘s nation. From Judah came the king of Israel and the words, Jew and Jewish.

And from Judah came Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah, the hope and salvation of the world… -All this came from Leahs womb!

So I ask you what’s your excuse? -Why not believe? Why just date Jesus? -Get married to Him. P.H

You see, God chooses the children of Leah… Even to this day.

Isaiah 54.1, 4–8NLT ““Sing, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem, you who have never been in labor. For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband,” says the Lord.”

4 ““Fear not; you will no longer live in shame. Don’t be afraid; there is no more disgrace for you. You will no longer remember the shame of your youth and the sorrows of widowhood. 5 For your Creator will be your husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name! He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth. 6 For the Lord has called you back from your grief— as though you were a young wife abandoned by her husband,” says your God. 7 “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with great compassion I will take you back. 8 In a burst of anger I turned my face away for a little while. But with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord, your Redeemer.”

Again, who are the children Leah to this day? Those who, through sorrow, wounds, rejection, emptiness, broken dreams, broken hearts, frustration, discontentment, pain, tears, emptiness, or simply the longing for something more-than they have on earth…

“Even unloved Leah’s” become born into the kingdom, born of God… And chosen for great and mighty things, the vessels, through which His love and redemption come to the world…

For God, especially loves the unloved and the unlikely… And has chosen the children of Leah!

Here’s our mission, commit any sorrow, rejection, frustration, or broken dreams into His hands. Believe Him to bring out of it the blessings of Leah. PH

Galatians 6:6-9NIV Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

From the text, Revelation 5, just as Jesus stood up and was found worthy to open the seals, He finds you worthy because of His precious blood.

Just as God turned Leah’s fortunes around, God's gonna turn yours around also! -Genesis 50:22.

Benediction.

Though scorned, stay fruitful.

Though unloved, stay faithful.

Though rejected, remember He took your place. -He was rejected.

Though forgotten, your season will change.
