Summary: The older brothers said in a negative light: HEAR COMES THE DREAMER... It took 13 long years to see the dream become a reality. WE NEED DREAMERS TODAY. Not day dreamers, but DREAM AND DO.

WHEN YOUR DREAMS ARE CRUSHED… ?

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes)

13 LONG YEARS OF DASHED DREAMS… JOSEPH WAS 17, HE IS NOW 30. 13 YEARS OF CRUSHING… I HAVE A DREAM…THAT ONE DAY EVERY VALLEY SHALL BE EXALTED, EVERY MOUNTAIN SHALL BE MADE LOW… I DREAM WE CAN MAKE THIS A BETTER PLACE… I HAVE A DREAM FOR THE LITTLE CHILDREN… WE REFUSE TO ACCEPT LIFE IS BANKRUPT… WE CANNOT TURN BACK… I HAVE A DREAM TODAY…

My dream is that we can all sing together… I dream that freedom rings across this land. Joseph brought on many of his own dream’s to a nightmare by pride, arrogance and by being a braggart.

Genesis 37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

6 And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: 7 For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. 8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. 10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

JOSEPH’S 10 BROTHERS COULD NOT STAND TO SEE HIM. PART OF HIS PROBLEM WAS BIRTHED BY AN ARROGANT ATTITUDE ABOUT HIS DREAMS. SEEMS THE LITTLE BROTHER WAS GOING TO RULE OVER THEM. THEY WERE ALL GOING TO BOW AND KISS HIS FEET? Young brothers in a patriarch society are to be seen not heard? Elder rules? Dysfunctional dad and 2 moms? Crushed?

Genesis 37:18 And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him. 19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. 20 Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.

IS THAT YOUR FINAL ANSWER? JOSEPH HAD TO STAY FOCUSED BEYOND THE CRUSHING… GOD’S PLAN SEEMS TO BE A GREAT MYSTERY. THE CRUSHING IS NOT THE WORST THING. THE PROBLEMS WERE BUT STEPPING STONES…

Genesis 41:51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house. 52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

THE DREAM CAME TRUE JUST AS JOSEPH DREAMED IT… JOSEPH’S DAD AND 11 BROTHERS WERE AT HIS MERCY.

Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

THE ATTAR OF ROSES or OTTO OF ROSE is a very expensive perfume or oil…

The master raises big beautiful roses until they reach maturity. The master cuts the roses from the plant. Then the rose petals are separated from the buds and placed in a VAT with sweet oil. The master then SMASHES, SQUEEZES AND CRUSHES THE ROSE PETALS INTO SMALL PIECES. The rose petals in the oil starts making a “SCUM” like substance on the top of the oil. Then daily a large feature is used to lift the paste from the top of the oil. The feather is rubbed on top of the bottle. After many days the rose oil fills the bottle with the EXPENSIVE PERFUME.

WHEN LIFE BECOMES CRUSHING… CRUSH: something that presses very hard, breaks into pieces, to destroy. Once we feel like a failure we start to worry and question our SELF-VALUE AND SELF-WORTH. When we are crushed, disappointed and our energy is drained we become GRASSHOPPERS IN OUR OWN SIGHT.

THE CRUSHING ON THE CROSS… THE DREAMS ARE DASHED… THE TWO MEN WALKING ON THE EMMAUS ROAD? WE BELIEVED? THE D AT THE END OF THE WORD MAKES IT PAST TENSE.

THE DREAM? REMEMBER? REMEMBER GOD IS WITH US… FROM WHERE WE HAVE COME? …

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

*YHWH, can not pronounce as there are no vowels.

*YaHWeH… SO YOU CAN SAY HIS NAME…

YHWH… Moses is standing at the burning bush and Moses inquires: WHO ARE YOU? In God’s great mercy God answers: YHWH. The name cannot be spoken verbally as there are no vowels. (A,E,I,O,U and sometimes Y.) Over the years seems man added “A” and an “E.” Thus we have the name YaHWeH.

THE DREAM! THE DREAM IS CRUSHED? Where does YHWH COME?

*YH

YH is the sound when humans INHALE air into their lungs.

*WH

The WH is the sound of a human when we EXHALE. Every living baby speaks the name of God at birth.

Voltaire, Clarence Darrow, Madalyn Murray O’Hair and all the famous ATHEISTS speak GOD’S NAME 20 TIMES A MINUTE. At death we inhale and exhale the last time. In trying times, in struggles, in pain we speak God’s name. In good, happy and joyful times we proclaim the word of God. Even when we sleep we are speaking YHWH…

GOD LOVES LITTLE NOBODIES IN LITTLE NOBODY PLACES. HE HAD A DREAM OF BEING A DOCTOR AND SAVING LIVES IN THE CONGO. ---

** DIKEMBA MUTOMBO, LISTEN TO A CRUSHED DREAM?

IN AFRICA THERE IS A NATION CALLED: CONGO. THE CONGO NATION IS SO VERY POOR. THERE WAS A VERY POOR VILLAGE IN THE CONGO. There was a boy that was one of 10 kids in his family. They were very poor. Many from his village died from the lack of medical attention. THERE WERE NO DOCTORS OR HOSPITALS NEAR HIS VILLAGE. Many died before they could get medical attention. The little boy in the Congo was hopeless and helpless. They were so poor. Seems mosquitoes were bringing death to his area of the Congo. He was determined to improve the living conditions of his nation. He thrived in school. He was 5’2’’ and he continued to grow. He was soon 5’6.’’ He grew and was 5’9.’’ This young boy soon towered over his family and peers. He grew to be 7’ feet tall. Before he stopped growing he was 7’2’’ tall. But this young man had a dream of helping his CONGOLESE family and area? How could this poor boy do anything as his family was so poor? His dream was to become a doctor and return to his village. It is sad, but the little black boy from the CONGO never makes a doctor. He did learn fast and he could speak 9 different languages.

The tall young black boy had an opportunity to come to the USA. He found himself on the CAMPUS OF GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY. He was invited to play basketball for the HOYAS UNDER THE GREAT COACH JOHN THOMPSON. Georgetown had a recent graduate of great fame: PATRICK EWING. THIS YOUNG MAN WORKED SO HARD AND IMPROVED AND DEVELOPED MORE AND MORE. He soon caught the attention of the sports community from 1988 to 1991. This young man so desired to make a doctor and return to the Congo and build a hospital.

This 7’2’’ young man graduated college and was picked in NBA DRAFT FIRST ROUND, FOURTH PICK. He was drafted by the Denver Nuggets. He played for years with the Houston Rockets. His fame grew and he was known as a great player in college and the NBA. He played 17 years in the NBA. He was an NBA ALL STAR 8xs. He scored 11,729 points, 12,259 rebounds and record breaking blocked shots at 3,289. HIS DREAM OF BEING A DOCTOR NEVER HAPPENED? CRUSHED?

HE PURCHASED BASKETBALL UNIFORMS FOR ZAIRE. He takes part in Special Olympics, relief programs, etc. MOTOMBO was honored by the President of the USA.

There is a 300 room, state of the art hospital named in honor of his mom BIAMBA MUTOMBO IN KINSHASA, CONGO in A CITY 0F 6.7 MILLION PEOPLE. MUTOMBA returned home with a personal gift of 15 MILLION DOLLARS… He raised another 29 million dollars to build a state of the art 300 BED HOSPITAL AND RESEACH CENTER … the poor little boy’s dream came true.

DIKEMBE MUTOMBO, 7’2’’ has lead in battles against POLIO, AIDS and MALARIA. MUTOMBO left his poor family and nation. He never made the M.D. DEGREE… But he has changed his nation and touched 1,000’s of people. He has a BA FROM GEORGETOWN and several honorary Doctor of Humanities and is in several HALL OF FAMES. As a hopeless poor boy in the Congo he changed his nation. He is a devout Christian and known for loving people.

CONCLUSION: WE NEED DREAMERS IN THIS WORLD. WE REALLY NEED DREAMERS IN THE CHURCH AND IN OUR FAMILIES. Yes, we need dreamers but know that daydreaming is not enough. We need dreamers that are DOERS. All humans dream until we are crushed in the pit and slave traders? Jail? Life crushes and kills dreamers. We must seek simple, worry free and not allow disappointment to kill our dreams. FAITHFUL! WE MUST STICK TO THE DREAM EVEN WHEN CRUSHED AND DEPRESSED. Can we dream in confidence and trusting God’s plans? DREAMERS MUST NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER GIVE IN! NEVER QUIT! Let us communicate our dreams to be possible, not impossible.

REFUSE TO ALLOW ANYTHING TO CRUSH YOUR DREAMING ABILITY. SICKNESS, FEAR, WORRY, DOUBT AND NEGATIVITY WILL CRUSH ANYONE’S DREAM. COME LET US EXPECT GOD’S MOVE IN OUR NATION, OUR CHURCH AND OUR FAMILY.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
