SAY NO TO ZERO… PASS THE TORCH

GOD SAID: LET THERE BE LIGHT… GOD IS LOVE, GOD IS LIGHT… WE ARE TO LIVE OUR LIVES PURPOSEFULLY AND INTENTIONALLY TO SEND THE LIGHT… The blessed Gospel light.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:19 (MSG) "This is the crisis we're in: God-light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness. They went for the darkness because they were not really interested in pleasing God.
Those that love God love “THE LIGHT.” God’s light will illuminate our daily lives, in our words, in our thinking patterns, in our character, in our attitudes and in our deeds and our works. GOD’S LIGHT BRINGS LIFE AND GROWTH… THE LIGHT OF GOD WILL AUTOMATICALLY BRING CHANGE AND DEVELOPMENT.
LOVERS OF THIS WORLD HATE GOD’S LIGHT… They walk contrary to the light --- pleasure AND FLESHLY DESIRES.
GOD: I LOVE YOU WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE…
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God loves us… The Lord God the creator of the universe loves us… The Lord loves you… It is our duty just to love HIM back.
GOD’S EYES GO TO AND FRO… ARE WE COMING IN PRAISE? GOD WELCOME YOU FOR WE ARE SO VERY HUNGRY FOR MORE…
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
DO WE REALIZE IN KENTUCKY WE HAVE OVER 1.3 MILLION PEOPLE THAT WILL NEVER SET A FOOT INTO A TRADITIONAL CHURCH SETTING? YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD….SO LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE.
Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
WE MUST NEVER ACCEPT ZERO AS THE NORM… ZERO EXPECTANCY MUST NEVER BECOME A LIFESTYLE IN THE CAMP OF GOD … WE MUST BE FULL OF GOD AND HIS WORD! FULL OF JESUS! FULL OF LOVE! FULL OF LOVE FOR PEOPLE! Blessed are they that expect nothing, for they shall never be disappointed. They will receive exactly what they expected…
LET US TALK ABOUT HOW MAKE -UP CAN CHANGE A FACE… THE SPIRIT OF FAITH, HOPE AND EXPECTING CAN COME IF WE LIVE IN THE LIGHT. A SMILE CAN BRING CHANGE.
Psalm 34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
GOD CLAIMS US AS HIS PEOPLE… WE HAVE NEVER BEEN ORPHANES … JESUS IS GOD’S GIFT OF LIGHT TO HUMANITY AND WE ARE CALLED TO REFLECT THE LIGHT.
PASS ON THE MANTLE OF LIGHT… THE AUTHORITY OF THE WORD OF GOD REST UPON THE MANTLE. THE JOURNEY OF THE LIGHT GOES FROM: GILGAL , BETHEL, JERICHO AND JORDON… Look up that lesson. Each a progressive step.
2 Kings 2:13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; 4 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
THE OLD PREACHER APPROACHES A GREAT OBSTACLE, THE FLOODED JORDAN RIVER… the light of the old preacher shines in the hands of the next generation. JESUS IS IN THE HOUSE… WE MUST GROW A HEART OF FAITH AND ACTION REQUIRED BY FAITH… GOD MAY WE CARRY THE TORCH OF YOUR LIGHT.
DO WE LOVE THE LEAST AS JESUS LOVE THEM? THE UGLY? LET US TRUST THE LORD OF THE HARVEST THAT HE IS A REWARDER…
(Reward is something given for a service.) Are we MOTIVATED!
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
**HIS CANDLE I AM
HIS CANDLE I AM TO SHINE WHERE HE SHALL SAY.
CANDLES ARE NOT FOR SUNNY ROOMS, NOR FOR THE LIGHT OF DAY.
CANDLES ARE FOR THE DARK PLACES OF THIS EARTH.
WHERE SHAME, SIN AND CRIME GIVE BIRTH OR FOR THE MULKY TWILIGHT GRAY.
WHERE WANDERING SHEEP HAVE GONE ASTRAY,
OR WHERE THE CANDLE OF FAITH GROWS DIM
AND THE SOULS ARE GROPING AND STRUGGLING FOR HIM.
AND AS SOMETIMES A FLAME WE FIND, CLEAR SHINING THE LIGHT
SO DARK WE CAN’T SEE THE CANDLE, BUT ALL WE CAN SEE IS THE LIGHT.
SO MAY I SHINE HIS LOVE, AND THE FLAME
THAT MEN WILL GLORIFY HIS NAME…
***MASTER, WHERE SHALL I WORK?
MASTER WHERE SHALL I WORK TODAY?
HIS LOVE FLOWED WARM AND FREE.
JESUS POINTED OUT A TINY PLOT,
AND HE SAID: “TEND THERE FOR ME… “
BUT I ANSWERED QUICKLY, “OH, NO! NOT THERE!
NO ONE CAN SEE, NO MATTER HOW WELL MY TASK WAS DONE.
NO! NO, NOT THAT LITTLE PLACE FOR ME!”
AND JESUS’ VOICE WHEN HE SPOKE WAS NOT STERN,
HE ANSWERED ME TENDERLY AND KINDLY.
MY FRIEND SEARCH THAT HEART OF YOURS.
ARE YOU WORKING FOR YOU? THEM? OR ME?
NAZARETH WAS JUST A LITTLE PLACE AND SO WAS CALVARY.
CONCLUSION: FOCUS BEYOND PROBLEMS… FOCUS ON OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE THE LIGHT… DO WE LOVE AS JESUS LOVED? DO WE LOVE THE LEAST? THE UGLY? THE DIRTY? THE SINNERS? THE LAST? THE LOST? JESUS WAS A FRIEND TO SINNERS… COME WITH ME … WE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD… LIGHT CORRECTS. LIGHT TRANSFORMS. LIGHT EXPOSES AND TEACHES.
Matthew 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
