Standing On God’s Word.
2 Chronicles 32:7-8NLT
Have you lost your sense of peace? Is your mind besieged with worry? If so, begin to program your thinking, with the promises of God, write them down, carry them with you, and read them regularly.
Rick Warren, author of the Purpose Driven Life, wrote: When you think about a problem over and over in your mind, that's called worry. When you think about God's word, over and over in your mind, that's meditation. If you know how to worry, you already know how to meditate!
Remember that word, Rumination. -Cow chewing its cud. We are called to ruminate.
In, 2 Chronicles 29:1a Scripture records: Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became the king of Judah, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years.
A few highlights from King Hezekiah:
* King Hezekiah Reopens the Temple.
* King Hezekiah and the Levites, Rededicate the temple.
* God’s people prepare and celebrate Passover.
* King Hezekiah brings reform to the temple of God.
2 Chronicles 32, Not far from Judah, just across the Jordan River, reigned a mighty king, Sennacherib king of Assyria. All the kings and princes in the neighboring lands feared him, and even Hezekiah paid tribute to him, so that all his treasury became empty. Sennacherib (Sen·nach·er·ib), brought terror and was a great oppressor of this part of the world.
Sennacherib (Sen·nach·er·ib) King of Assyria (705-681) who invaded Judah, destroyed Babylon (689), and rebuilt Nineveh offered slander and lies about King Hezekiah, trying to discredit him.
About 2500 years ago, a great king reigned over Judah in the land of Israel. He was a great scholar, very wise and pious. He reigned with justice, and taught his subjects the Torah and wisdom of God. His name King Hezekiah.
King Hezekiah tells the men of Judah to stop-up all the wells in the land.
The deliverance of Jerusalem by the destruction of the Assyrian army was brought on by Hezekiah’s prayerful leadership.
In 713 B.C. Sennacherib returned home in disgrace, some of his own sons killed him.
Hear the prayerful leadership of King Hezekiah: 2 Chronicles 32:7-8NLT “Be strong and courageous! Don’t be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is a power far greater on our side! 8 He may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!” Hezekiah’s words greatly encouraged the people.
You will never be disappointed when standing upon God’s word. -A little boy asked his mother, what does it mean to be a Christian? She replied, it's like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then he cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed; then, He carves you a new, smiling face, and puts his light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.
10 Truths you need to know; 10 words from God. While standing on God’s word remember:
1. The Lord watches over you…
He stands beside you… Keeps you from all harm… Watches over your life… He keeps watch… As you come and go.
Psalm 121:5-8TPT Yahweh himself will watch over you; he’s always at your side to shelter you safely in his presence. 6 He’s protecting you from all danger both day and night. 7 He will keep you from every form of evil or calamity as he continuously watches over you. 8 You will be guarded by God himself. You will be safe when you leave your home, and safely you will return. He will protect you now, and he’ll protect you forevermore!
Again, 1. The Lord watches over you.
2. Trust in His name.
Psalm 9:10TPT For everyone who knows your wonderful name keeps putting their trust in you. They can count on you for help no matter what. O Lord, you will never, no never, neglect those who come to you.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower! Again 2, Trust His name!
3. Nothing can separate you from God’s love.
Our fear for today and worries of tomorrow, even the powers of hell… Nothing in all creation will…separate you.
Romans 8:38-39NLT And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Again 3, Nothing can separate us from God’s love.
4. Your enemy will not prevail! The devil is a lier!~
Jeremiah 15:20NLT They will fight against you like an attacking army, but I will make you as secure as a fortified wall of bronze. They will not conquer you, for I am with you to protect and rescue you. I, the Lord, have spoken!
Say, “No weapon formed against me shall succeed.”
5. You will be secure.
Job 11:18NIV You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.
Again, 5. Your security rest solely upon Jesus Christ.
6. I will lie down and rest.
Too much stress, lowers your immune system, elevates your blood pressure, and creates cholesterol that blocks your arteries. In other words, it creates that very condition you dread.
Psalm 4:8TLB I will lie down in peace and sleep, for though I am alone, O Lord, you will keep me safe.
7. Take courage in the middle of trouble.
John 16:33AMP I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
Again 7. Take courage in the middle of the trial.
8. The battle belongs to the Lord!
King Jehoshaphat, in the midst of an seemingly insurmountable attack from every side, hears God’s instruction.
2 Chronicles 20:15AMP He said, Hearken, all Judah, you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
If God is on your side, that's a game changer!
9. Fear not.
Isaiah 43:1-2NKJV But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name;?You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,?Nor shall the flame scorch you.
This sounds like God, (The Lord Jehovah) and here, God is being Jehovah Nissi, a banner, or wall of insulation, for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendigo. And for you!
Again 9. Fear not!
10. I will rescue you.
Jeremiah 39:17NIV But I will rescue you on that day, declares the Lord; you will not be given into the hands of those you fear.
This I promise, according to God's word, it will not return void, but will accomplish that which it is sent forth to accomplish. God will rescue you!
God is looking for more king Hezekiah's who, in the midst of fear stood his ground against the Lord's enemies. PH.
Benediction. If you will stand on on God's word, He will do all this, and much more.
