Missionaries
Acts 13:1-3
Intro.
- To take the Gospel to the world was one of the last commands
of Jesus before He left this world.
Matthew 28:18-Mat 28:20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach2 all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
- I wanted to share a few thoughts about missionaries
I. Missionaries are called. Acts 13:2
A. They called may come in different ways.
1. A conviction (by the Holy Spirit
2. A burden for a people or country
B. The must respond to that call.
1. To ignore the called results in a life of misery
2. Their greatest joy is found in surrendering to God’s call.
II. Missionaries are committed.
A. They will find a way to get to the field
B. Many go through a mission organization
C. Some go through a local church
D. Often asked in approval process
“If we don’t give you our approval, what will you do?”
A committed missionary will go any way.
E. It takes commitment to get through the precess of
preparation and deputation.
1. Preparation
a. Education
b. Experience (internship)
(ask the missionaries)
2. Deputation
a. Raising support
b. A difficult experience
c. A blessed experience
III. Missionaries are constrained. (Highly motivated)
A. By their calling
B. By the Love of God
2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us;
IVv. Missionaries are commissioned

- Mission — A work to accomplish
A. By the Great Commission, Matthew 28:19-20
- In it together with Christ
