THE STORY OF CHICKEN LITTLE…
There is a lesson we know as YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE… I have read how YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE throws his whole small town into a great panic… CHICKEN LITTLE CLAIMED THE SKY WAS FALLING IN… This must be the end of the world. While CHICKEN LITTLE was hit in the head by a piece of the sky falling and hitting his head real hard… Seems CHICKEN LITTLE COULD NOT FIND WHATEVER IT WAS THAT HIT HIM IN THE HEAD? Seems everyone was in a melt down and super panic because YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE’S REPORT WAS SO NEGATIVE… THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!
The whole community gets angry when they find out YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE had distorted what had happened. AN ACORN fell off the BIG OAK TREE and hit him in the head. So no one believed YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE anymore.
The next summer YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE was playing a BASEBALL GAME… out in left field. Another chicken hit the hard ball and it hit YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE IN THE HEAD. This time YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE has a new perspective. Here he is hit in the head and he still jumps to the conclusion THE SKY IS FALLING IN… YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE convinced the town again the SKY IS FALLING IN… His conclusion was this was an ALIEN INVASION and a piece of the UFO had fallen from the sky. Again panic grips the town.
YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE’S DISTORTIONS ALMOST COST THE HEN HER LIFE. FOXY LOXY invites her into his FOX DEN FOR A MEAL… seems YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE LEARNED A LESSON… Before Foxy could fry the chicken ---YOUNG CHICKEN LITTLE RAN AND ESCAPED FOXY. Get real!
HOW ABOUT THE STORY OF THE BOY THAT KEPT CRYING WOLF, WOLF?

WHAT IS THE MORAL OF THE STORY? WE NEED TO NOT MIS-UNDERSTAND FACTS AND JUMP TO THE WRONG CONCLUSIONS. We must have good courage, even when our emotions play mind games. It may often feel like the SKY IS FALLING IN… BUT WE MUST STAY FOCUSED. QUIT JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS WITHOUT CHECKING THE REAL TRUTH. WE KNOW THAT WHEN WE BLINDLY FOLLOW FALSE TRUTHS WE ARE DOOMED.

Asaph is introduced to us in the book of Psalm. ASAPH IS GIVEN CREDIT FOR WRITING 12 OF THE CHAPTERS OF PSALM. Psalm 50, then Psalms 73 through 83.
Asaph helped care for the ARK OF THE COVENANT. He was a God called prophet. Asaph was a trusted friend of David and Solomon.
Asaph’s name in Hebrew root is “SP.” It means binding, gathering and harvester.
ASAPH’S WRITINGS ARE CALLED “MASKILS”… smart, wise, enlightened, intellectual, deep thought, complex, THINK ABOUT.
Psalm 73:1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
WHAT’S WRONG ASAPH IF GOD IS SO GOOD? WHY ARE YOU ABOUT TO FALL?
Psalm 73:2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
WHY ARE YOU ABOUT TO FALL? PEOPLE WATCHER?
Psalm 73:3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
THE SKY IS FALLING IN?

WHERE DO I FIND THE ANSWERS? GO TO CHURCH?

Psalm 73:28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE LESSON OF THE PIG?
Seems a big fat pig is roaming around the forest and finds all likes of delicious juicy acorns on the ground. The acorns are strewn on the ground. The pig eats and eats the acorns until the acorns are gone. The pig takes a long nap. When the pig wakes up he looks for more acorns to eat. He doesn’t find any more. The pig starts rooting the ground to dig up more acorns. THE PIG UNDERCUTS THE ROOTS OF THE OAK TREE… The pig killed the MIGHTY OAK TREE.
THERE WAS A BIRD THAT LANDED ON ONE OF THE DEAD BRANCHES AND INFORMS THE PIG THAT HE KILLED THE MIGHTY OAK TREE. The bird cries out: IF YOU WOULD HAVE JUST LIFTED YOUR HEAD IN THANKS, YOU WOULD HAVE DISCOVERED ACORNS GROW UP HIGH IN THIS TREE… YOU KILLED THE TREE IN YOUR IGNORANCE. Now there will be no more acorns for us birds, squirrels and UNTHANKFUL PIGS. All you had to do was look up!
WHAT WILL THE SEEDS OF FAITHLESS CONCLUSIONS GROW? … DOES FEAR AND WORRY GROW WEEDS OF WEARINESS? BE CAREFUL HOW YOU THINK! AND WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT!
Matthew 13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
Matthew 13:22 (MSG) "The seed cast in the weeds is the person who hears the kingdom news, but weeds of worry and illusions about getting more and wanting everything under the sun strangle what was heard, and nothing comes of it.
WHAT KIND OF EXERCISE PROGRAM DO WE FOLLOW? 1. JUMPING CONCLUSIONS. 2. PUSH MY LUCK. 3. STEP OUT OF BOUNDS. 4. DODGE MY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. 5. FLY OFF THE HANDLES. 6. RUN ON EMPTY. 7. CARRYING TOO MUCH WEIGHT. (Unknown)
CONCLUSION: We must refuse to allow our minds to accept distortions and be distracted by INVAVID CONCLUSIONS… Worry, fear, panic attacks, depression and negative THINKING PATTERNS cause us to quit PRAISING AND WORSHIPPING GOD. We must DELIGHT OURSELVES in the magnificent PLANS OF GOD. WE MUST LEARN PATIENCE.
