Summary: Scripture very clearly enunciates our purpose in the creation of God. If only the people, the crown creation can understand, there would be peace and joy everywhere.

As much as the excitement people show in the beginning in knowing the Lord, it is not seen in the latter days. The Scripture commands us to grow along with the Word and the Lord, which is neglected to a greater extent. In this outline sermon, I would like to give two reasons why people are lacking knowledge.

Sin prevents knowing the Lord: The first criteria to know the Lord is to live a sinless life. Where sin resides, Christ doesn't dwell. A sin keeps Christ far away, but his grace is close by. Only a repented heart keeps both the grace and Christ closely.

In 1 John 3:6, we read, "No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him." This is so true, and everyone who claims believers should know it. Unfortunately, people are immersed in rituals of their denomination rather than enriching in the knowledge of God.

Secondly, knowing God is to fulfill what is said in Isaiah 43:21. It is the knowledge of God that helps us to bring glory to God. The scripture tells us to grow in the grace and knowledge of God (2 Peter 3:18). And Peter in his letter to the church, reminds us that the person who grows in grace and knowledge brings glory to God. Hosea also warns us about the absence of knowledge (Hosea 4:6).

This is not just yet another sermon outline to read and forget but to listen and implement in one's life. Hope this message inspired you, please share it with others.
