TOOLS IN THE MASTER’S HANDS… PENCIL, MAKE TODAY COUNT…

Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Often we are so focused on our DESTINATION, we tend to forget about the IMPORTANCE OF THE JOURNEY. Our journey will include MOUNTAINS. If God does not remove our mountain, he will give us the strength to climb the mountain. Maybe God’s plan is patience and he will remove our mountain one pebble at a time. There will be days of heat and sunshine. There will be storms, floods and winds. Whatever we are facing today is SUBJECT TO CHANGE…
THE GARDENER KNOWS WHEN TO CUT THE FLOWER FOR THE MASTER’S BOUQUET, UNFOLD A ROSE? MAKE THE MOST OF THE OPPORTUNITIES BEFORE US… Only God can unfold a rose. ( I have a rose in a tight bud.)

We live in perilous times. We must take life seriously. We must guard our words and watch our steps. We need to KEEP THE MAIN THING THE MAIN THING. God gave us a brain to use it and weigh the CONSEQUENCES of our choices. Are we making the most of the chances we RECEIVE? These are desperate times! Could we make better choices to get the most of every opportunity we have?
CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES MY FRIEND…
Let me give you 2 verses. THE FIRST IS AN IMPERATIVE COMMAND…
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
THE SECOND I SAID LETS LOOK AT IT BACKWARDS… 1. TRUST GOD, 2. FIX YOUR MIND, 3.PERFECT PEACE…
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
WE ASK GOD TO KEEP OUR FAMILIES, ONE DAY AT A TIME IN PERFECT PEACE.
EVER THINK ABOUT THE GLOVE ON A SURGEON’S HAND? MOST SURGEONS GLOVES ARE GREEN… GREEN HELPS THE DOCTOR’S VISION TO SEE THE DIFFERENT COLORS OF BLOOD…
Just washing one’s hands does not sterilize them. Gloves are to safeguard and provide protection for the patient and the doctor. The GLOVES ARE USELESS UNLESS THEY ARE ON THE DOCTOR’S HANDS… The gloves are worthless laying on a table. We give little to no credit to the GLOVES… It is the hands that are valuable. Our life worth is limited without the MASTER’S HANDS…
DO WE REALIZE WE ARE A PENCIL IN LIFE? WHAT ARE YOU WRITING TODAY?
MOTHER TERESA MADE A STATEMENT THAT WE NEED TO APPLY TO OUR HEARTS TODAY:
HOW DO WE KNOW EACH OTHER? By the words we speak or write. YOU EVER LISTEN TO A JUDGE? A WRITTEN CONTRACT IS EASY TO ENFORCE. A VERBAL CONTRACT CAN BE EASILY DISPUTED.
GOD’S WORDS ARE INSPIRED AND WRITTEN. GOD USED A PENCIL IN MEN’S HANDS TO WRITE THE BIBLE. God’s words reveal His heart and mind to humanity. We come into God’s holy relationship BY THE WORD!
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
LIFE AT BEST IS CHALLENGING, WE ARE IN GOD’S HAND. ONE CAN USE THE PENCIL FOR ART WORK? TO WRITE ONE WORD: LOVE? TO WRITE A SENTENCE? A PARAGRAPH? A CHAPTER OR A BOOK…
Will I submit to God’s will? When I declare I am but a PENCIL… I am a wood protective case, hollow inside with the #2 lead on the inside. The #2 lead is actually GRAPHITE with a little clay that holds it together.
DID YOU KNOW I CAN MAKE THIS PENCIL WRITE ANY COLOR? (Red, pink, blue, brown or white?) I spell out the letters.
SOMETIMES WRITING CAN BRING FREEDOM AND PERSONAL EXPRESSION. You can write LOVING, TENDER KINDNESS? You can write mean, unforgiving and throwing up the past.
My grandfather WYMER SUMNER always carried a SMALL PENCIL WITH HIM. Usually a small pencil has been broken several times.
We need a sharpener… the sharpener must not feel real pleasant to a pencil? WE HAVE TO SHARPEN THE LEAD AND KNOCK OFF THE CASING AROUND THE LEAD… We have to shed that outter layer… WHY DO WE WORRY AND HAVE PANIC ATTACKS WHEN WE FACE THE SHARPENER? God’s plan is to build his people HOW HE DESIRES… Don’t RESIST THE SHARPENER…
PENCILS GET DULL! The SHARPENER WILL RELEASE THE POTENTIAL IN THE INNER MOST PART OF THE WOOD…
SOMETIMES LIFE GETS HARD AND OUR PENCIL BREAKS --- WE HAVE TO RETURN TO THE SHARPENER AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM. EVERY PENCIL HAS A CORRECTIVE ITEM: WE CALL IT AN ERASER. SOMETIMES ALL WE CAN DO IS FORGIVE AND WRITE THE STORY AGAIN.
WHAT DID WE WRITE YESTERDAY? TODAY? TOMORROW? WRITE AND MAKE: THE MAIN THING THE MAIN THING!
EVERY GOOD PENCIL HAS AN ERASER? WHY AN ERASER?
Smart students are different from slower students in that the SMART STUDENT will check his work. PROOF READ? MAKE CORRECTIONS…
THE PENCIL CAN DO NOTHING OF ITSELF… IT HAS TO YIELD TO THE MASTER’S HAND.
PENCILS SEEM SO SIMPLE… THE PENCIL IS A TOOL IN YOUR HAND AND GOD’S HANDS. What are you writing?

Have you ever looked into water? Just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart. Remember the story of the dog that had a real big bone? As the dog walked across the bridge he looked into the water and saw a dog that had a bigger bone. The dog growled and barked, he wanted that bigger bone. When he barked his bone fell into the swift river and it was forever gone.
Your heart reflects who you really are...

TIME IS A LIMITED GIFT FROM GOD… ARE WE MAKING TODAY COUNT? DO WE REALIZE OUR WORDS AND ATTITUDES MAKE US THE SUM TOTAL OF WHO WE REALLY ARE?
LIFE HAS SOME VERY DARK DAYS: DEATH IS THE LAST ENEMY WE WILL FACE… THE SON WILL SHINE AGAIN.
No matter how dark and cold winter is, God has a plan. DECEMBER 21 IS THE SHORTEST DAY OF THE YEAR, THE SUN SETS AT 5:02 PM. By the end of February the sun will not set until after 6 pm. Each day in February is about 3 minutes longer than the day before. By the end of March sunset is close to 7:45 pm. By April the sunset is around 8:25 pm. May it is more like 8:57 pm. By June it is around 9:08 pm… DARKNESS and GLOOM will give way to THE LIGHT OF THE SUN. (SON)
Then our days get shorter and shorter.
STONES: MAKE TODAY COUNT… I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased several bags of small stones. I took a paint pen and wrote MAKE TODAY COUNT on every stone. I call all to the altar and give each person a stone.
TODAY IS ABOUT CHOICES… DON’T WORRY… WE CAN CHANGE WHAT WE ARE WRITING ---GOOD, BETTER, BEST…
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO HAVE A GOOD DAY… If you so desire.
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IN A BAD DAY AND A GOOD DAY IS YOUR ATTITUDE… A BAD ATTITUDE IS LIKE A FLAT TIRE… YOU ARE NOT GOING VERY FAR UNLESS YOU CHANGE IT.
Today is a good day to have a good day! You can make today count if you so desire. LOVE OTHERS, ENCOURAGE, EDIFY, REFLECT JESUS! MAKE TODAY COUNT!
