This is the last lesson in our series of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have tried to take, in proper order, all of the events connected with His coming.
I think it would be good for every saved person to know and be able to tell the events which we have studied. Also, to be able to give at least one verse of scripture for our basis of belief.
I. The Fact of the New Heaven and New Earth
1. Remember Heaven and Earth have passed away.

2. The earth is purified, not destroyed by burning.

II. The Order of the Transition between the Old and New
1. Revelation 21:1-5 & 22:1-7
2. In these two chapters of the book of Revelation there is a great contrast between the passing of “old things” and the eternal beginning of “all things new.”
3. The seven no mores of the book of Revelation.
a. There shall be no more “Sea”. 21:1
1) The sea is a type of suffering.
2) Also considered sorrowing and troubled humanity.
b. There shall be no more “Death”. 21:4
1) This is man’s last enemy, and it shall be destroyed by Christ.
2) 1 Corinthians 15:25-26; Revelation 20:14
3) Since death shall not be in Heaven it shall be a place of everlasting life.

c. There shall be no more “Sorrow”. 21:4
1) If there is no sorrow there, heaven will be a place of perfect happiness.
d. There shall be no more “Crying”. 21:4
1) There will be no tears, or broken hearts.
2) Heaven will be a place of peace and joy.
e. There shall be no more “Pain”. 21:4
1) In Heaven, man shall not get a place of everlasting health.
f. There shall be no more “Night”. Revelation 21:25
1) This word expresses the combined meaning of the five words used above for the word night is a symbol of sin and its results.
2) If there is no night, Heaven will be a place of everlasting day, which speaks of Heaven being a place of perfect knowledge. Revelation 22:5
g. There shall be no more “Curse”. 22:3
1) In Heaven, man shall regain all that was lost through Adam in the beginning.
2) Here, God shall smile forever upon His children.

4. The seven new things of the book of Revelation
a. The New Heaven
1) Revelation 21:1
2) In this Heaven, there will be no sun, moon, stars, clouds, rain, or storm.
3) Isaiah 54:10
b. The New Earth
1) Revelation 21:1
2) On this earth, there will be no seas, mountains, earthquakes, storms, heat or cold.

c. The New People
1) Revelation 21:3
2) This is the born-again race, the heavenly family, the heirs of God and the church of the first born.
3) Hebrews 12:22-24
d. The New City
1) Revelation 21:9-12
2) This is the eternal city.
3) Rome is not the eternal city, nor is the present Jerusalem, but the eternal city will come down from God and adorn the New Earth.

e. The New Temple

2) God shall be everywhere, and the new universe will be the temple of God.
f. The New Light
1) Revelation 21:23-25
2) There will be no need of created or artificial light for the “Lamb is the light thereof,” Revelation 21:23
g. The New Paradise
1) Revelation 22:1-5
2) Here God’s people shall live forever and ever.
