NADIR? WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE CHURCH? SECOND COMING…

We are expecting the IMMINENT RETURN OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. 1. In the church. 2. In Israel. 3. In nature. 4. In world politics. 5. In society. 6. In technology. 7. In Biblical prophecies. We are in part two of signs in the church. Previously in part one signs in the church we studied. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit. (Joel 2:28). Then we considered Matthew 24:10 easily offended, betrayal, holy hatred. Then John 4:48 the seeking of signs. Then Matthew 24: 23-26 running here and there to find miracles. Then 2 Thessalonians 2:2-3 the great falling away. We closed that with the devaluation of church attendance. Hebrews 10:25.
No sadder words of pen and tongue than the words what might have been? We start this study by considering how low in sin will people fall?

*NADIR: (NAY-deer) (Arabic term) the point of greatest adversity or despair, the time of one’s greatest depression, terrible depression, at one’s lowest point, to hit the bottom, nothing, zero, low ebb.
NADIR? HOW LOW AND DEPRAVED CAN HUMANITY SINK?
Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
NADIR… AS IN NOAH’S DAYS. NOAH WARNED THOSE THE RAIN IS COMING. NADIR? SEEMS PEOPLE FAIL TO LEARN FROM HISTORY …
Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
CAN MAN REACH TO NADIR (NAY –deer) AGAIN? AFTER THE LORD’S GRACE AND MERCY IN NOAH’S DAY… WE SEE THE CHOICE OF WILLFUL DEPRIVATION IN MAN’S LOVE OF WILLFUL SIN.…
NADIR? SEEMS PEOPLE FAIL TO LEARN FROM HISTORY … GOD WARNED ABRAHAM AND HE INTERCEDED FOR SODOM AND GOMORRAH. WE HAVE BEEN STUDYING THE SIGNS OF THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST. THE WHOLE ISSUE IN THIS STUDY WILL WE REPENTANCE AND BE PREPARED AND READY FOR WHAT IS COMING ON THIS EARTH?

Genesis 19:4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
NADIR? Study the real issues of NADIR at SODOM and GOMORRAH… DO WE NEED TO DISCUSS THE LOW POINT OF CHOICES AND SIN? Sexual sin is terrible but Sodom had other problems… the NADIR of PRIDE. How about the fullness of bread, idleness and not helping those in need?
Ezekiel 16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
The Bible warns us of a society of unrestrained sin like SODOM and GOMORRAH. It sure seems like the world and the USA are in direct rebellion and rejecting God and His word! Corruption and moral decay are rampant. The very foundations on the rock has turned to SAND. Seems men’s culture, thought patterns, impulses, violence, communication and governments are so corrupt and depraved and accepted as the norm even in the church. THERE IS NO ADMITTING OF WRONG DOING AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REPENTANCE AND CORRECTION. HAVE WE REACHED THE NADIR
JESUS IS COMING RIDING ON THE CLOUDS! BE READY.
Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
NADIR: PEOPLE WILL BE EXPECTING TERROR AND NEGATIVE DREADFUL EVENTS. WILL WE NADIR IN ANXIETY, FEAR AND WORRY? THERE IS A REAL SIGN THAT WILL BE IN THE CHURCH OF FEAR AND WORRY… DEPRESSION AND DISCOURAGEMENT… THE NADIR OF SPIRITUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST WILL CAUSE FAINTING.
Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Luke 21:26 (NIV) Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."
Nadir? What is coming on the world? Dread and fear affects your central nervous system and will increase your heart rate, blood pressure and your emotional triggers. This fear and anxiety will cause heart failure and panic attacks. Hysterical? Where is our faith? Is God in control? Hear the prediction of the Bible: FEAR KILLS FAITH. BE PATIENT. Trust God’s word.
NADIR? AMERICANS ARE FOND OF THE BIBLE --- BUT THEY ACTUALLY DO NOT READ IT… 9 0ut of 10 Americans own a Bible. Relatively few church attenders read the Bible daily.
Let us talk about faithful church attenders. It is estimated that more than 50% of church attenders never read the Bible. 1/3 of Americans never pick up a Bible. (Life Way Research) Even among faithful church attenders less than 50% read their Bible daily. Women are more likely to read their Bible than men.
NADIR? During the pandemic the average Christian daily Bible reading has dropped from 14% to 9%. Bible reading as a child is the biggest factor in predicting the spiritual health of young adults. Only 25% of the average church membership attend on Sunday. 80% of church attenders feel discouraged. Could this be from the FAMINE OF THE WORD OF GOD?
For a good reader IT TAKES 70 HOURS AND 40 MINUTES TO READ THE BIBLE. 52 hours and 20 minutes to read the Old Testament. 18 hours and 20 minutes to read the New Testament.
Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
35 to 40% of pastors leave the ministry. Many ex-pastors no longer attend church. Moral failure, burnout and hurting families attack preachers. 72% of the pastors say the only time they read their Bible is for sermon preparation. 38% of pastors are faithful Bible readers?
I'll send a famine through the whole country. It won't be food or water that's lacking of my Word.
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
CONCLUSION: Anemic in the word of God, anemic in the work of God. Refuse to be part of the famine of God’s word. Let us refuse NADIR: (NAY-deer) the point of greatest adversity or despair, the time of one’s greatest depression, terrible depression, at one’s lowest point, to hit the bottom, nothing, zero, low ebb. Be ready, Jesus is coming.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
