WHAT MIGHT GOD DO IF WE WERE READY?

Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
* WE MUST BE READY mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually--- FULLY PREPARED, easily available, within reach, willingly disposed, agreeable, no delay, no hesitation…
In 1970 the song “WISH WE ALL BEEN READY”… by Larry Norman was released.
Life is filled with guns and war, and everyone got trampled on the floor… I wish we’d all been ready.
Children died, the days grew cold, a piece of bread could buy a bag of gold, I wish we’d all been ready.
There is no time to change your mind, the Son has come and you’ve been left behind.
A man and wife asleep in bed. She hears a noise and turns her head, he’s gone. I wish we’d all been ready.

WHAT ARE WE EXPECTING IN OUR FAMILIES AND CHURCHES? HOW ARE YOU PREPARING TO GET YOURSELF AND OTHERS READY FOR THE NEXT GREAT EVENT IN HISTORY?
Many have made the claim they knew when Jesus was coming. We must be expecting and get ready and stay ready because Jesus God’s son is coming to receive his people to ever be with the Lord.
Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
WHAT IS FAILURE? WHAT IS SUCCESS? LIFE OFTEN HAS MANY TEMPORARY SET BACKS? We must be ready!

DO YOU NEED AN ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR CHANGE? THE TWO MINUTE WARNING? WHAT IF THE PREACHER KNOCKED ON YOUR DOOR AND SAID… SOMETHING IS SPIRITUALLY LACKING IN YOUR HEART? GOD HAS BEEN FULL OF LOVE, MERCY AND GRACE THAT ALLOWS OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE… BUT ONE DAY IS COMING WHEN THE DOOR SHALL BE FOREVER CLOSED… WHY GAMBLE WITH ETERNITY?
2 Kings 20:1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. 2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,
HEZEKIAH WAS A PRETTY GOOD MAN… but there was something not in TUNE with God. So the Preacher was given a message KING YOU ARE GOING TO DIE… YOU BETTER GET READY NOW!
Preacher Isaiah something is happening in the King’s heart. Turn around and carry a new message. God saw that Hezekiah had a change of attitude and submitted… HEZEKIAH GOT READY.
2 Kings 20:4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, 5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD. 6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
GOD WAS SO PLEASED WITH HEZEKIAH GETTING HIS SPIRIT READY THAT GOD GAVE HEZEKIAH 15 MORE YEARS… BUT MORE THAN THAT THE TERRIBLE ENEMY OF ASSYRIA WILL BE DEFEATED AND GOD WILL DELIVER HIS PEOPLE. ALL BECAUSE THE KING GOT READY.
WHAT MIGHT GOD DO IF WE WERE READY AND CAME INTO A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD? THE QUESTION IS: ARE WE GOING TO BE READY? WILL WE BE TRAPPED BY THE STAY THE SAME MENTALITY? WILL WE WRESTLE UNTIL WE RECEIVE OUR BLESSINGS? OR WILL WE THROW IN THE TOWEL AND QUIT?
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
We see many people satisfied and content to stay the same. There is little to no growth and improve of their daily attitudes and spiritual development. It is your personal decisions how far or how close you will be with God. Will we be willing to forsake our opinions and accept what God’s word teaches? What might God do if we came with clean hands and a pure heart?
There was a man living under very difficult situations. His family life at best was dysfunctional. His mom and dad had many negative issues. His brother made a serious vow that as soon as their dad died, he was going to kill him. SEEMS JACOB AND ESAU were doomed to a life of want and woe. What might God do for Jacob if he would wrestle for victory? Jacob are you ready?
BUT GOD… we can accept that we seemed trapped by failure or we CAN GET READY FOR THE RELEASE OF GOD’S PLAN.
Genesis 32:25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
JACOB HAD AN ENCOUNTER OF THE THIRD KIND… JACOB WAS READY FOR THE GOD CHANGE… THE JACOB, THE SUPPLANTER, THE CHEATER, THE DECEIVER… READY ---BUT GOD SAW THE POTENTIAL… AFTER A NIGHT OF WRESTLING THE ANGEL SAID: BOY YOU ARE READY FOR YOU’RE YOUR BLESSING: MANY WILL REMEMBER THE JACOB PART OF YOU…BUT GOD… BUT GOD SEES THAT YOU ARE READY TO BE BLESSED…
Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
WILL WE WEAR THE COAT OF READINESS AND BE PREPARED FOR GOD’S BLESSINGS. I think we must seek more than just the spiritual gifts. I think our attitudes must be great than demanding answers for our WHY QUESTIONS. To really be ready should be seeking THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND A CLOSE PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS.
JACOB WILL LIMP THE REST OF HIS LIFE, BUT HE WILL WALK WITH GOD. ISRAEL GOT READY FOR THE PLAN OF GOD TO BE RELEASED.
CONCLUSION: Let’s us daily live READY! Ready for what? READY FOR ANYTHING!
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
