Summary: Go ahead follow Kairos; Go ahead follow God. Let the wind of God blow, Encourage the fire of God to burn, Lift up your life (body) and offer it to God.

The Holy Spirit And Kairos.

Numbers 9:15-18NKJV

Are you willing to keep your eyes and the motives of your heart upon the perfect Guide?

The children of Israel had finally left Egypt, with over 400 years of bondage. However, upon Israel’s departure, Egypt hadn’t left Israel’s heart. God has a remedy, the remedy is His glory; His glory becomes His endorsement.

The Israelites had become accustom to spiritual complacency while living the Egypt. In Egypt, The Israelites worked hard, they were well fed, with a roof over their head, they had few leadership worries.

Nevertheless, physically, Israel had left Egypt behind, and now Moses, Israels leader, had received complete detail on the making of the tabernacle. It would be a place where God met His people, a place where He would give Moses and the priest, farther instructions on how to live and flourish while traveling in circles to Canaan.

What took 40 years, should have taken 10 days. What happened? Israel had to reprogram, and learn God’s way—the faith way.

The making of the tabernacle was intricate, God was into details. Much of Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers is dedicated to God’s idea of order and Israels obedience. Now there was order, and God was well pleased!

I believe the Holy Spirit’s movement is mainly based upon our obedience. P.H

Today’s text, shows the moving of the Holy Spirit, and how the Holy Spirit desires to become relevant in your life.

Numbers 9:15-17NKJV Now on the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the Testimony; from evening until morning it was above the tabernacle like the appearance of fire. 16 So it was always: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. 17 Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, after that the children of Israel would journey; and in the place where the cloud settled, there the children of Israel would pitch their tents.

Israel's movement, or non-movement was totally strategized by God himself.

Again—If the cloud moved by day, they moved. If the cloud remained stationary, Israel stayed. If the pillar of fire moved by night, these Israelites moved. If it remained, Israel stayed.

Israel’s leader was Moses, but Moses’ head was God—CEO. P.H

That brings me to this all important question: Are we willing to be led by the Holy Spirit?

When the cloud, or the fire moves we move, when He stays, we stay, or remain.

With all honesty, I believe that there should be a lot more staying, remaining, or waiting. If we move, we move because of an open-door.

* Jesus spoke these words to His disciples about open doors.

Luke 24:49KJV And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Can I remind you that this is your Jerusalem! He’s called you to wait—To serve.

Jesus said in John 14:16KJV And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

John 14:16AMP And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever.

Father God obligated and entrusted the Holy Spirit on your behalf.

The question is—will you accept and hunger for His help?

Testimony: As I was leaving our Wednesday night service, I spotted Sister Betty Jones, I shared with her on how one brother at the altar desired to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

She proceeded in telling me with excitement and joy, how she longed for, and sought after the Holy Spirit, until she received Him with the evidence of tongues as of fire.

You might be here this morning and say, “I long for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and direction!” Good, seek Him!

Back to Numbers 9:15, On the day the tabernacle was raised up, and completed. On that day, God placed His endorsement on this tabernacle.

Anytime something pleases God you better know He responds! His approval is His glory! P.H

Abraham Lincoln wrote this and lived by its words: I do the very best I know how—the best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me won’t amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right, would make no difference.

Those who become complacent, faith in God isn’t so important. They Go through the motions, stuck in a rut, while the supernatural becomes common place.

They think, Awe, Church, I can take it, or leave it.

Jesus said these powerful words in John 16:7-13NLT But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. 9 The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. 10 Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. 11 Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.

12 “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.

Here’s three powerful functions of the Holy Spirit:

He will convict the world of its sin.

The Holy Spirit will convict believers of their righteousness.

He will judge the world. Those who refuse Jesus will be harshly judged.

Romans 8:11KJV "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

Romans 8:26NKJV  Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

There are two words for the word time—chronos and kairos.

Chronos is clock time. Chronos is sequential—past, present, future. Aging chronos time is incredibly important.

In Ephesians 5:15-16KJV the Apostle Paul wrote, 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

This word in verse 16, Time, in the Greek means, Kairos. Kairos makes the most of every opportunity.

It’s the sixth sense that perceives the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Kairos doesn’t keep time as much as it makes time. When it discerns a holy moment, it takes off its shoes.

The poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning said it this way: Earth’s crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God: But only he who sees, takes off his shoes, the rest sit round it, and pluck blackberries.

What am I telling you? It’s time to wind the God clock!

Acts 2:1-4KJV And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Go ahead follow Kairos; Go ahead follow God. Let the wind of God blow, Encourage the fire of God to burn, Lift up your life (body) and offer it to God.

Benediction.
