HOPELESSLY TRAPPED BY FEAR AND NEGATIVITY

THE TRAP OF FEAR AND NEGATIVITY IS OFTEN SET BY WHAT WE SEE AND LISTEN… IF WE LISTEN TO FEAR AND NEGATIVITY THE TRAP IS SET. IF WE LISTEN TO GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT AND GOD’S WORD FAITH WILL GROW.
Eve was isolated from Adam and God when she started listening to the negative lies of the enemy. EVE LISTENED and the trap of fear and negativity was set.
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
THE BIRTH OF FEAR WAS SELF-INFLICTED AND SELF FED… God walked with them daily. Why fear now?
Genesis 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
WE MUST LISTEN AND KNOW GOD’S WORD TO OVERCOME FEAR, WORRY, DEPRESSION AND NEGATIVITY.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
You cannot overcome fear and negativity by human reasoning. You must overwhelm fear and negativity by FAITH AND TRUSTING THE WORD OF GOD.
ATTITUDES: mental state, a settle way of thinking or feeling about someone or something that will control your words and behavior.
PERSPECTIVE: the way you see or feel about something.
TRAP: a device to catch, retain, or hinder, no escape, something set up intending to harm or kill.
LURE: something that catches the eye, attacks, entice, and tempt, to seem to offer a reward, INDUCE TO PLEASURE.
NEGATIVITY: expression of criticism, to be downbeat, tendency to be disagreeable, to be skeptical, pessimistic, expect the worse, negativity tends to become habitual.
BAIT: something used to entice, play with your emotions.
OUR EMOTIONS, OUR FEELINGS AND OUR OPINIONS CAN BECOME SO DOMINATED BY NEGATIVITY AND FEAR THAT OUR VISION BECOMES SO DISTORTED THAT WE BELIEVE LIES. CAN IT BE POSSIBLE THAT WE WALK THROUGH DARK DANGEROUS VALLEYS AND NOT RECOGNIZE THE CONSEQUENCES OF FLIRTING WITH THE TRAPS OF FEAR AND NEGATIVITY. …
Numbers 11:5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:
The children of Israel were speaking so negative. Their emotions were up and down. The people lost their focus on God and God’s plans. Soon their focus was so distorted that they REMEMBERED HOW WONDERFUL EGYPT WAS? We ate fish our fill in Egypt. We are tired of this MANNA? Remember we had cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.
DID THEIR NEGATIVITY SEE THE SLAVERY? DID THEY FORGET KILLING ALL THE BOY BABIES? Did their negativity forget about all the bricks? Did they forget they had to not only build bricks but that they had to meet their quotas and gather the hay?
BEWARE THERE ARE MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL TRAPS SET AROUND US OF FEAR, WORRY, DISAPPOINTMENTS, DISCOURAGEMENT AND NEGATIVITY.
Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
We used to understand the greatest health hazard was TOBACCO. The last day battle is now OBESITY, NEGATIVITY and FEAR. We understand there has to be a lure to get the trap to work. I would love to teach people that there are many traps set in our daily lives.
There is a young man that starts using his computer. He is amazed at the information he can find. He sees this add about women. He innocently visits some dating sights. He finds some information that pleases his five senses. For a while he just reads. Then he and his wife seems to argue and fuss all the time. Everything he can see is negative. His wife gripes and finds fault with everything he does. An ego flame is ignited in his heart and a torch has exploded in his mind. The next thing you know he meets a lady and talks in the park. THE TRAP IS SET. What about the consequences?
YOU CAN NEVER OVERCOME FEAR AND NEGATIVITY… YOU MUST LEARN TO OVERWHELM THE NEGATIVE WITH POSITIVE FAITH AND ACTION.
A BOAT? A FISHING ROD? INVISIBLE LINE? SHARP HOOK? BAIT?
IN GREEK MYTHOLOGY THERE WERE THESE DANGEROUS CREATURES THAT LURED SAILORS TO THEIR ISLAND BY SINGING BEAUTIFUL SONGS. When the sailors heard the song they would sail their ship to the rocky coast and the beautiful women would then kill the sailors. SIRENS USED SEDUCTIVE AND DECEPTIVE methods.
One captain ODYSSEUS, filled his sailors ears with bees wax then he taught them to sing so loud that they could not hear the song of the sirens. Joy works.
HOW DO YOU IDENTIFY THE TRAPS OF FEAR AND NEGATIVITY?
Seems we speak THE LANGUAGE OF NEGATIVITY MORE THAN WE REALIZE. Few learn the power and value of words. Until we learn the power of words, attitudes and traps we can never succeed.
DO WE HAVE DISTORTED MEMORIES? SOMETIMES THERE ARE DEEP MUDDY DITCHES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD. HAVE WE EVER HONESTLY IDENTIFIED HOW NEGATIVE WE CAN BE?
How easy is it to flirt with the traps? I watched a mouse looking at a glue trap. There was cheese and peanut butter in the middle of the glue. Free food? The peanut butter smelled so good. The mouse is hungry? The mouse got closer and closer. The smell was so appealing. The mouse placed one foot in the glue? He could still move around. Then his whole body was in the glue. The more he moved the more the trap was in control. He fought with everything within him. The bait lured the mouse to its death.
I know so many that flirt with the bait of fear and negativity until the trap has become THE END. Caught? In the death grip and they lose everything? This is so sad.
LET US STUDY THE TRAP OF NEGATIVITY… Why can’t we weigh the cost Of NEGATIVITY? Negativity has a SNOW BALL EFFECT… the more you roll the ball the bigger it grows.
NEGATIVE LIVING GROWS OUT OF “HAVE TO ATTITUDES…” … seems I have lost my passion, I have somewhat against you, YOU LOST YOUR FIRST LOVE… WHERE IS “THE WANT TO…”
UNFORGIVENESS IS A TRAP OF NEGATIVITY…
FEAR AND NEGATIVITY IS VERY CONTAGIOUS.
WE CONTROL OUR NEGATIVE WORDS BY CONTROLLING OUR EARS. BASIC GARBAGE IN YOUR EARS WILL SOW SEEDS IN YOUR MIND THAT WILL EVENTUALLY BE THAT WHICH WILL COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH… THE ABUNDANCE OF YOUR HEART.
HAVE WE EVER TRIED TO IDENTIFY THE ROOTS OF OUR FEARS, WORRY AND NEGATIVITY? We are not fighting each other. Husband and wife should not be enemies? Pastor and church members? Employer vs employee.
2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
CONCLUSION: Our daily FEARS and NEGATIVITY become words that are tools of destruction or they will build us. Our words must never be about controlling and manipulation of people. We need to submit and use God’s words and power to overcome the evil traps of fear and negativity set around us. We must control our words and emotions to be edifying and encouraging. God desires us to avoid the traps of fear and negativity and grow to be mature in our words and actions. Are we living in fear and negativity?
