WE KNOW THERE HAS TO BE MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS... THERE ARE SOME GREEK PEOPLE THAT COME TO PHILIP.
PHILIP GOES TO ANDREW… THESE GREEKS WERE SEARCHING FOR MORE… THESE GREEKS ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD NEWS…
John 12:20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: 21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. 22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. 23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
It is a sad day when people become satisfied where they think they have attained and there is no more. I HAVE IT. I HAVE IT ALL. Then people become unteachable… THEY KNOW IT ALL. God has a plan. God’s plan is progressive and we grow deeper roots to stretch our faith… I HAVE GOOD NEWS, THERE IS MORE. Thank God for what we have achieved… THERE IS GOOD NEWS, THERE IS MORE AND WE CAN REACH TO A DIVINE GOAL.
BEING A CHRISTIAN IS MUCH MORE THAN REACHING A DESTINATION. A GOD PLEASING LIFE IS ABOUT THE JOURNEY. WE MUST CONTINUALLY STAY FOCUSED ON THE GOAL BEFORE US. THE MAIN THING IS TO KEEP THE MAIN THING THE MAIN THING…
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Do we really accept and realize GOD IS THE PROVIDER? We do not have to worry about lack. By faith we can trust the plans of God and that God is about GOOD NEWS. God builds his people. We must stay in the CENTER OF GOD’S WILL. God will grow and stretch our faith. We must carefully build ourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit. We must exercise PATIENCE WITH THOSE THAT FALL. Let’s us help others through life’s struggles.
I have good news. No matter how rough may seem the way, no might how long the race may seem to be. We must PRESS FORWARD and focus on the goal. There is a finish line. We must stay focused and in tune. There is good news if we keep pressing toward the mark.
As Paul is writing Philippians he is undergoing terrible trials and hardships. Yet Paul admonishes us to HAVE JOY, REJOICE AND PRAISE GOD…
Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
WRONG WAY, ROY RIEGELS was playing for University of California Berkeley in the 1929 Rose Bowl for the National Championship. WRONG WAY recovered a fumble and was going to be the hero of game. Wrong Way was a line man and never carried the football. A Georgia Tech player hit ROY SO HARD he turned and started running the football to the wrong goal and scored a touchdown for Georgia Tech. THERE WAS A RUNNER FROM TANZANIA NAMED JOHN STEPHEN AKHWARI THAT RAN IN THE 1968 OLYMPICS IN MEXICO CITY. He was a MARATHON RUNNER. His race was long and hard. The race was over one hour before John came limping into the stadium. One hour behind the winner? Yet he crossed the finish line. He was asked WHY? WHY DID YOU FINISH KNOWING THE RACE’S WINNER WAS 1 HOUR IN FRONT OF YOU? John replied: MY COUNTRY DID NOT SEND ME TO MEXICO CITY TO QUIT. THEY SENT ME TO START AND TO FINISH THE RACE.

DON’T BE SURPRISED AT THE GOOD NEWS, THE ANSWER IS AT THE DOOR… ACTS RECORDS A STORY THAT REVEALS GOOD NEWS. THE KING HAD KILLED ONE PREACHER. THE PUBLIC OPINION WAS SO POSITIVE THAT THE KING DECIDED TO KILL ANOTHER PREACHER. PETER YOU ARE NEXT. THE CHURCH WAS FORCED TO HER KNEES AND THERE WAS AN INTENSE PRAYER MEETING.
Acts 12:13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. 14 And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. 15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel. 16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.
The good news: DON’T BE SURPRISED WHEN THE ANSWER IS KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR… The good news is faith opened the prison doors…
*MY PRAYER:
*SWEET HEAVENLY FATHER, HELP ME FIND THE CENTER OF YOUR WILL AND LEARN TO STAY THERE.
*FATHER, I ASK YOU TO HELP ME SEE THE POTENTIAL OF CHANGE IN PEOPLE.
*FATHER GOD, MAY THE FOCUS OF MY VISION SEE THE BEST IN PEOPLE.
*GOD PLEASE GIVE ME COMPASSION SO THAT MY HEART IS QUICK TO FORGIVE THOSE THAT HAVE HURT AND OFFENDED ME.
*HEAVENLY FATHER HELP ME GROW MY FAITH WHERE I HAVE A COMPLETE TRUST IN YOUR LOVE AND PLAN.
*THEN TEACH ME TO DISCIPLINE MY MIND THAT WILL FORGET THE UGLY BITTERNESS …
*TEACH ME GOD THAT I MUST NEVER LOSE FAITH IN YOU AND IN PEOPLE.
*TEACH ME SWEET FATHER THAT OBSTACLES ARE OPPORTUNITIES TO STRETCH MY FAITH TO NEW LEVELS.
*TEACH ME TO NOT JUST LOVE WHAT I DO FOR YOU, BUT ALSO TO LOVE THOSE THAT I AM CALLED TO HELP.
CONCLUSION: We can live in one of 3 ways: THE CENTER OF GOD’S WILL! IN THE PERMISSIVE WILL OF GOD.
OR BEING OUT OF THE WILL OF GOD… I HAVE GOOD NEWS MY FRIEND… THE DECISION, THE CHOICE IS UP TO YOU.
There is a big difference between INTEREST in something and A DEEP COMMITMENT. If you are INTERESTED IN SOMETHING you may or may not do it. If you are TOTALLY COMMITTED you will accept NO EXCUSES only results.
The good news is: YOU CAN IF YOU WANT TO… my friend keep praying, keep pressing on and lay aside the weights and I HAVE GOOD NEWS THE ANSWER WILL KNOCK AT YOUR DOOR. If you have been running the WRONG WAY, Get up and run again!
