Teach me more about Jesus! That I may know him…

Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Ephesians 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
*We understand there is one God eternally existing in three parts… 1. God the Father, 2. God the Son, 3. God the Holy Spirit.
We have a modern day term for this, THE TRINITY. Sure we know the word Trinity is not in the KJV. Neither is the word DEMON, nor the word RAPTURE.
We first learn of the triune God as God says let us make… (Us is plural … more than one.)
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
We can further see this when Jesus is being baptized… the Father speaks: This is my beloved Son, and the Holy Spirit is there in the form of a DOVE.
Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
*JESUS IS A GIFT, FREELY GIVEN…
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
*JESUS IS THE LAMB OF GOD… lamb, sacrificial lamb.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
** Jesus carries the 3 fold offices of god: 1. PROPHET, 2 PRIEST, 3. KING
*JESUS CHRIST WAS ALIVE… HE WAS KILLED ON THE CROSS… PUT IN A GRAVE AND ON THE THIRD DAY HE AROSE TO LIVE FOREVER MORE.
Luke 24:5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
*JESUS IS OUR MEDIATOR.
IN THE MIDDLE BETWEEN MAN AND GOD. TO BRING TO ACCORD, TO SETTLE, RECONCILE, INTERCEDE.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
**WE ALSO KNOW THAT JESUS IS THE BREAD OF LIFE…
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:48 I am that bread of life.
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
In Biblical times bread was the stable source of nourishment. Bread was made of wheat, or the poorer people often used barely. Bread was made by kneading in wooden bowls. Often they added leaven except during special days, like Passover. There were public ovens where people would cook their bread.
There was no refrigeration and bread would last about a week under good conditions.
Ecclesiastes 11:1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
Remember God gave the BREAD, MANNA, TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL. Somewhere down the line the people taught MOSES gave them the pray. NOT SO, GOD IS THE SOURCE… JESUS IS THE BREAD… God does not provide long term but daily.
Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
*THE ANOINTING OIL OF THE BIBLE IS SYMBOLIC OF JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.
OLIVE OIL WAS USED IN SMALL LAMPS AS A SOURCE OF LIGHT… during darkness. (See the next point.)
Leviticus 8:12 And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.
COME, LET US SEE HOW OLIVE OIL IS SYMBOLIC OF JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. To make oil there must be a crushing process. There must be pressure to release the oil from the olive. Small amounts of oil would come by the bruising of the mortar. Larger amounts were made by women stepping on the olives to release the oil. Still large amounts were made by a heavy mill stone being pushed around on another stone and producing commercial quality and amounts. So the oil is a lesson in SUFFERING AND CRUSHING.
Luke 10:34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
THERE IS ANOTHER LESSON --- OLIVE OIL WAS USED IN COOKING AND FOR NOURISHMENT… but the oil of Jesus and the Holy Spirit was used in treating injured people. The oil helped keep infection out and added in a quicker healing process.
James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
*WE ARE SO THANKFUL TO KNOW THE GODHEAD ASSOCIATES ITSELF WITH LIGHT.
LIGHT IS THE SOURCE OF ALL LIFE. THE ENEMY LOVES DARKNESS AND SO DOES HIS CROWD. GOD SAID 4 WORDS AND CHANGED HISTORY: LET THERE BE LIGHT… LIGHT IS THE OFFSPRING OF GOD’S DIVINE COMMAND.
John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Have you ever seen a dark operating room? Never! Life as we know it cannot exist without light. We must come with an enlight mind and heart to know Jesus.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
*JESUS DOES NOT COME TO US TO CONDEMN US… HE CAN TO SAVE US… JESUS QUIT CALLING US BROTHERS AND STARTED CALLING US FRIEND… I LOVE THE WORD FRIEND. JESUS’ LOVE CALLS US FRIEND.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
* YOU ARE MORE THAN A SERVANT… YOU ARE A FRIEND OF GOD…
John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
*LOOKING UNTO JESUS THE AUTHOR AND THE FINISHER…
Many know how to start something, Jesus knows how to finish.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
*DO YOU KNOW THE HEALER? HOW ABOUT JEHOVAH RAPHA, THE HEALER… THE HEALER OF HURTS, WOUNDS, OF SICKNESS…
Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
*I LOVE THE WORD WITH… BEING ON THE SAME PAGE… IMMANUEL GOD WITH US…
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
*JESUS IS MY HOPE, MY HOPE AGAINST HOPE, THE ANCHOR OF HOPE. THE ANCHOR HOLDS.
Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
*COMFORT EACH OTHER… JESUS IS MY COMING KING…
1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
CONCLUSION: JESUS IS DEITY, HE IS EQUAL TO GOD. HE IS GOD… JESUS IS THE DOOR… JESUS IS THE TRUE VINE. JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There is no other way but by JESUS CHRIST… MAKE HIM YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR… AND KNOW HIM IN HIS FULLNESS.
