YOU SURE ARE PRETTY IN THAT WINDOW…

There was a family that lived way out in the country. They got all the water they needed out of the well. The water was always so cool and so good to drink. The water was so refreshing. One day the old cat was almost blind and could not hear it thunder. The cat went down to get a cool drink and accidently fell down into the well and died there. As the family drew water out of the well there was a different smell. In the bucket in the kitchen
Grandma tasted the water. It was terrible. So the next day one of the young boys walked to town and purchased a gallon of rust covering paint and the family gathered around the well and painted the old pumped a pretty silver color. The paint was so shiny and pretty. They all bragged how pretty the old pump was.
The farmer pumped the well, the paint did not help. There was still a terrible odor and the water tasted terrible. The family depended on that well for generations. They called the county water man to come out the next day. They explained they had painted the pump to no avail. The agent said it must not be an external issue. The agent had the farmer to remove the pump and there they found the old cat’s body. No wander the water was making everyone sick.
The county agent helped the family remove the cat’s body and drained all the water they could. Then he poured some chemicals down in the well. The county agent said: Now the water is drained, the water will be OK in 48 hours.
See many of us seem to focus on the externals. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN WHITE WASH AND WASH WHITE. God please her us get to the REAL ROOT OF THE PROBLEM, INTERNAL.
Matthew 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
My dad would always say PRETTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP. My old brother would always add: YES, BUT UGLINESS GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE BONE.
What is pretty? What is ugly?
Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
WE TEND TO GET STUCK IN A RUT. HAVE YOU HEARD IT SAID: IT IS INSANE TO KEEP DOING THINGS THE SAME OLD WAY AND THEN EXPECT A DIFFERENT OUTCOME?

Humans tend to become habitual… a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up… We can so develop our routine or norm until we don’t control the habit, the habit controls us…

*REACTION PATTERN… We tend to walk in life reacting to situations instead of controlling the circumstances.
EVER READ MY LINE: LIFE IS 10% WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU AND 90% HOW YOU HANDLE TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES… COME WITH ME AND LET US LOOK AT THE PATTERN THAT AN EVIL LADY ESTABLISHED IN HER LIFE STYLE AND SHE LAYS THE FOUNDATION FOR HER WHOLE FAMILY… I CALL THIS THE TRIAL OF THE JEZEBEL SPIRIT…
Jezebel was a mean spirited, evil woman. She was married to one of the most evil Kings in the Bible, AHAB. Remember how manipulative she was really was. Jezebel was scheming and she respected no one. Remember AHAB angry and pouting as he wanted NABBOTH’S VINEYARD.
RECALL JEZEBEL HATE THE PREACHER? She hated his message? She despised God. I developed a trail that is easy to establish your daily patterns.

*CONTROL ISSUES grow:
*PERFECTIONIST (Judge according to performance) this grows:
*I WANT: SELFISHNESS THIS THEN DEVELOPS…
*PAIN: You tend to inflect pain on others. The pain grows:
*BITTERNESS is an unseen root and it grows:
* HOLY HATRED: Hatred that thinks it is justified… this grows:
*ALIENATION: to become isolated to leave the group or activity, to lose sympathy… this grows
*DIVISON: the action of separating parts, disagreement, lack of unity, conflict. Division grows:
*REJECTION: dismiss or refuse, to spurn others, decline… This then grows:
*TOTAL SEPERATION: to move apart, disconnect, how sad but this grows into:
*REBELLION: open resistance, put down, not submitted, defiance, this grows to:
*INDEPENDENT SPIRIT: I need no one, to be free and not controlled, you can’t tell me what to do…
THIS TRAIL ENDS IN DEATH… The same dogs that licked NABBOTH’S BLOOD will lick AHAB’S BLOOD out of the chariot.
THE SAME DOGS THAT LICK AHAB’S BLOOD WILL NOT ONLY LICK JEZEBEL’S BLOOD, THEY WILL EAT ALL BUT HER HANDS AND SKULL AND HER FEET TO LEAVE A CLEAR… YOU MAY PAINT YOUR FACE AND STILL THINK YOU ARE IN CONTROL, BUT THE END OF THE TRAIL… IS JUDGMENT AND DEATH.
2 Kings 9:30 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.
JEZEBEL STILL THINKS SHE IS IN CONTROL, BUT NEVER FORGET GOD IS IN CONTROL… JUDGMENT IS SURE.
2 Kings 9:32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs. 33 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot. 34 And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter. 35 And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
36 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:
CONCLUSION: ABILITY IS WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF DOING. MOTIVATION DETERMINES WHAT YOU WILL DO. AND YOUR ATTITUDE WILL DETERMINE HOW WELL YOU WILL DO WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU. NEVER FOLLOW THE TRAIL OF ATTITUDES THAT JEZEBEL FOLLOWED. Jezebel may be pretty in the window, BUT GOD SEES BEYOND THE EXTERNALS.
