BARGAIN HUNTING? WHAT WILL YOU GIVE ME? HOW MUCH?

Deal? SEEMS WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A BARGAIN… Recently I was in a store, they had luggage for $99.99 and no one was buying it. A few weeks later I saw they had the luggage marked $219.99, marked 50% off. Today and this day only you can purchase this luggage for $110.00. Did I mention it was 50% off? People were getting a real bargain… $110. A few days before you could buy it for $99.99? Call it a sale, a real bargain?
DEAL? BARGAIN? LOOKS GOOD TO ME? LOOKS GOOD TO MY EYES? WHAT A BARGAIN… deal? DEAL?
EVE SOLD OUT FOR DISOBEDIENCE AND EATING THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT. Bargain?
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
The bargain was fear, sweat of the brow, pain in child bearing, the curse?
Genesis 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Deal? CAIN KILLS HIS BROTHER ABEL. ABEL’S OFFERING WAS RECEIVED, NOT CAIN’S… THIS BARGAIN IS TERRIBLE.
Genesis 4:13 (KJV) And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
THIS WAS NO BARGAIN… THE COST IS GREATER THAN I CAN BEAR…
DEAL? SEEMS WE ALL DEMAND BARGAINS? GIVE ME? WASTED --- WASTED HIS SUBSTANCE
Luke 15:12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. 13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
WHAT KIND OF BARGAIN DID YOU MAKE SON? Dirty, with the pigs? Eating pig food?
LET’S MAKE A DEAL? BARGAIN, WHAT IS THE PRICE OF A TEMPER FIT?
Numbers 20:8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
God gave Moses clear directions. Moses was hurt, bitter and angry… YOU, REBELS…
Numbers 20:9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. 10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? 11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
Moses you get a high price ticket, you will not get to go into the promise land at this time…
Numbers 20: 12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
DEAL? BIG DEAL? WHAT A BARGAIN? GIVE ME? FRATERNAL TWINS, JACOB AND ESAU… ESAU NEVER VALUED HIS INHERITANCE AS HE SHOULD… HE GAVE AWAY MILLIONS FOR A $2.00 BOWL OF SOUP?
WANT TO TALK ABOUT A BARGAIN? I AM STARVING TO DEATH?
Genesis 25:29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: 30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
Birthright has to do with POSITION and INHERITANCE…
Hebrews 12:17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
A FAMILY DEAL? A DYSFUNTIONAL FAMILY WITH NO COMMUNICATION LINES….10 BROTHERS WERE JEALOUS AND HATED THEIR BROTHER… LOOKING FOR A BARGAIN?

WHY KILL OUR STUPID LITTLE BROTHER? WE CAN GET GOOD MONEY FOR HIM? $15,000!

DEAL? TALK ABOUT SALES PRICE… JOSEPH WAS SOLD AGAIN… BY THE MIDIANITES TO AN EGYPTIAN…
Genesis 37:36 And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, and captain of the guard.
LOT MAKES A DEAL? IT IS A REAL BARGAIN WHEN HE PITCHES HIS TENT TOWARD SODOM?

Genesis 19:16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

WHAT A TERRIBLE BARGAIN AND PRICE TAG?

BARGAIN? THERE IS A REAL LESSON IN THE PRICE OF 30 PIECES OF SILVER? Bargain?
DEAL? JUDAS, LET’S MAKE A DEAL? REAL BARGAIN? HOW MUCH? HOW MUCH WILL I GET? WORTH? VALUE? PRICE?

LOOKING FOR THE BARGAIN? WHERE IS MY OPPORTUNITY?

HOW MUCH? HOW MUCH WILL I GET? WORTH? VALUE? PRICE?

Judas, not me, no deal. NOT ME, I WOULD NEVER DO THAT…
FROM CHILDHOOD WE KNEW JUDAS WAS BAD, HE WAS REAL BAD…
Matthew 26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
I WOULD NEVER BE LIKE JUDAS AN SELL JESUS…WE ARE NOT LIKE JUDAS, ARE WE? 30 PIECES OF SILVER SPEAK OF A BAD DEAL! WHAT WILL YOU GIVE ME? JUDAS MADE A GOOD DEAL, THIS WAS A REAL BARGAIN!
What a sad deal? Poor bargain? JUDAS WAS HAND PICKED BY JESUS. JESUS HAD PLACED TRUST IN JUDAS.
JUDAS SOLD JESUS … “SELLING OUT”…. COMPROMISING A FRIENDSHIP…. FOR PERSONAL GAIN… What did Judas get in his bargain deal? He lost everything…
1. HIS INTEGRITY 2. HIS FRIEND 3. SELF RESPECT
4. PEACE OF MIND 5. HIS GOOD NAME
6. HIS EXPERIENCE OF WALKING WITH THE SON OF GOD SEEING MIRACLES
7. JUDAS SOLD OUT HIS FRIENDS
8. JUDAS SELLING PRICE MADE HIM THINK HE WAS SUPERIOR TO JESUS.
9. JUDAS THOUGHT HE WAS GAINING POPULARITY OF THE JEWISH LEADERS… POWER.
10. AT THE DEEPEST LEVEL JUDAS SOLD GOD’S ONLY SON…
Matthew 26:20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve. 21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? 23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. 24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. 25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
IS THIS SELLING AT BARGAIN PRICES PERSONAL? CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW JESUS FELT WHEN JUDAS KISSED HIM? Judas was Jesus’ friend? He carried the money? Judas sat at the table and ate with Jesus. OF ALL THINGS: to bargain with? A KISS… A KISS…
NO DOUBT JUDAS HAD AN EXCUSE? Jesus could have openly placed shame on Judas, but he did not.
The Old Testament spoke of this bad deal… this is no bargain…
Zechariah 11:12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
I HAVE READ MANY ACCOUNTS OF HOW MUCH 30 PIECES OF SILVER VALUE TO BE…
One source said: $20,400, another said by today’s standard perhaps $36,600. Whatever amount it was a considerable sum of money. The price for Jesus was a ransom for slaves.
JUDAS WAS FILLED WITH REMORSE, BUT NEVER IS THERE A RECORD OF REPENTANCE?
JUDAS RETURNED THE MONEY… HE NEVER SPENT A PENNY?
Matthew 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. 5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. 6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. 7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
THE PRIEST GAVE THE MONEY OUT OF THR CHURCH TREASURE BUT COULD NOT TAKE IT BACK AS IT WAS BLOOD MONEY… SEVERAL ACRES OF LAND WAS BOUGHT WITH THE 30 PIECES OF SILVER… THE LAND WAS USED FOR A GRAVEYARD OF POOR PEOPLE. Whatever the value of the BARGAIN of Jesus it is considered the PRICE OF A PERSON SELLING OUT…
A teen age girl gets pregnant? Price? What is the price for sexual sin? 20/20 the other night the married man had a girlfriend… (Chris Watts) He killed his pregnant wife, two young daughters and placed them in oil tanks, all for sex? Relationship? What is the price of selling out for little education? What is the price of tobacco products?
What is the price of being overweight? Politicians sell out their trust in office? The angels in heaven sold out living in heaven?
CONCLUSION: while we search for spiritual bargains, we might think that we are not hurting anyone by doing our own thing and chasing our personal desires and lusts but you are more than a cog in the wheel of time. We must turn back to God. They counted out 30 pieces of silver? Count 1.2.3.4.5.6.7. …28, 29, 30? What kind of eternal deal are you cutting?
