EVER HEARD OF THE ---ITIS DISEASES…

I remember as a child my Dad preaching about the FLOWER OF EASTEROUS-CHRYSANTHEMUMS?
I understand this flower blooms twice a year at church. The flowers are humans that bloom at church on Easter and then again at Christmas. This is the only time of the year these people bloom at church?
DIAGNOSIS: The act of identifying a disease, illness or problem – statement or conclusion as to what is wrong.
PROGNOSIS: a doctor opinion about how someone will recover, a judgment about what is going to happen in the future.
Tonsillitis: Painful, swollen tonsils.
Appendicitis: painful, swollen appendix
Bursitis: inflammation of shoulder/elbow
Arthritis: disease of the joints
Colitis: pain/swelling in the colon
Meningitis: deadly infection of the outside layer of the brain or spinal cord
VACCINATION: GIVE A VACCINE TO PREVENT INFECTION.
THERE ARE SOME DISEASES ON THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF HUMANITY, COME LET US SEE THE SYMPTOMS THE DIAGNOSIS AND IF THERE IS A PROGNOSIS.
*1. PRIORITISIS COMMONLY KNOW AS VALUE-ITISIS.
Life is temporary at best.

*2. DO YOU SEE THE TERRIBLE DISEASE OF EXCUSITIS? EXCUITIS IS VERY CONTAGIOUS…

LAND: materialism, wrongful priorities.
OXEN: business, pleasure… EVERY EXCUSE IS COVERED IN 3 AREAS.

*3. TIME-ITIS, COMMONLY KNOW AS PLENTY-ITIST…
Can you tell time? Oh, I have plenty of time… this can be a FATAL DISEASE.
Matthew 16:2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

*4. LAZY-ITIS BREEDS WASTE-ITIS
Proverbs 18:9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not

*5. VISIONLESSITIS, BLINDITIS… CAN BE FATAL.
CAN ONE BE SO BLIND THAT THEY CAN’T SEE GOD HAS DEPARTED?
Samson could spot a pretty woman 100 yards away? This was a game to him, until he was blind.
Judges 16:20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.
21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.
Samson laying blind in a prison could hear his Mom and Dad’s lessons. Boy, God has a plan.
Samson saw more when he was blind than when he had 20/20 vision.

*6. MATERIALISMISTIS can effect a family.
I know a family that got mad at each other and never spoke again over the value of a Christmas present?

Materialism is a way of thinking that gives great importance to possessions RATHER THAN SPIIRITUAL OR INTELLECTUAL THINGS… The belief that material things are the most important…

He who has the most toys dies the same as those that have none.
*7. THERE IS A TERRIBLE DEADLY DISEASE CALLED LONELITIS!
LONELINESS CAN BE A PERSONALITY ISSUE.
1 Kings 18:22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
In 1 Kings 19 GOD TELLS ELIJAH HE HAS 7,000 IN ONE CIITY THAT HAS NOT BOWED NOR KISSED THE HAND OF BAAL.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

*8. AVOID WEDGIE-ITIS, DIVISIVISENESS-ITIS…
Insecurity, make others feel small?
Pettiness, jealousy. Can a wedge divide a family?
Words: sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never harm me --- IS A LIE.

If we are to agree with our adversary quickly --- how much more

*9. NO STICKTO-ITIS, I QUIT… Count the cost of quitting?

*10. EMOTIONALISM-ITIS MOUNTAINITIS: DOUBT CAN BUILD SOME HIGH MOUNTAINS…
YET FAITH CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS.
Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
I always have a mountain top experience: either I am on top of the mountain or the mountain is on top of me.
Do we understand: I JUST WANT TO BE HAPPY IS A VERY POOR GOAL AND WILL RELEASE A SPIRITUAL INFECTION?
Romans 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Romans 2:5 (MSG) You're not getting by with anything. Every refusal and avoidance of God adds fuel to the fire. The day is coming when it's going to blaze hot and high, God's fiery and righteous judgment.
CONCLUSION: WHILE I FEEL SORRY FOR THE TIN MAN HAVING NO HEART, I AM BROKEN EVEN MORE BY THE DISEASE OF A HARD HEART THAT IS SO CALLOUSED AND NEGATIVE THAT A HEART DISEASE THRIVES. NEGATIVISMITIS CAN NEVER BE ELIMINATED… BUT FEED THE POSITIVE AND STARVE THE NEGATIVE. YOU CAN NEVER DEFEAT NEGATIVISMITIS, YOU MUST OVERWHELM IT. WE MUST MAKE PROGRESS A GOAL MORE THAN MAKING EXCUSES.
When I taught school I had the cooks save the metal gallon cans for me. I painted them and put Philippians 4:13 in the bottom of the can. Then we cut eyes out of the old magazines and glued them on the sides of the cans.
