What’s a Backslider?
"Dad, what’s a backslider?" the boy asked.
"Well, Son, that’s a man who leaves our church and goes to another."
"But Dad, then what do you call a man who leaves his church and joins ours?"
"He’s a convert, Son, a convert!"
I. Identifying Signs of Backsliding
a. Loss of heavenly values
b. Loss of Conviction of sin
c. Lazy in Service
d. Putting peoples word ahead of God’s Word
e. Loss of Testimony
II. Causes of Backsliding
a. Evil/Wrong thinking
b. Worldly mindset
c. Self-Centeredness
d. Lack of Prayer Time
e. Gossiping

III. What to do if you are a Backslider
a. Confess your sin(s) to God
b. Forsake your sin(s)
Who did the Lord use? Peter! If you continue to look at the rest of his story, you will see that God used him to accomplish MANY important tasks. What an encouragement! Friend, you are no different that Peter. If you have fallen YOU CAN BE RESTORED!!!
The bible proves this in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We have seen the restoration
You don’t have to remain in your backslidden condition, like Peter, you can be restored today.
