15 YEARS --- LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW---9/11/2001

WHAT IS A WINDOW? TO ME THE WINDOW OF HOPE?
THERE IS A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY BEFORE US....
1 Corinthians 13:12 (KJV) For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
1 Corinthians 13:12 (NLT) Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then
we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but
then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.
I have been a full time pastor 35+ years and before that I was involved in the ministry in music
several years.
I find my self --- PEERING OUT THE WINDOW --- the glass doors at church often.
I go to church to pray and often I find myself looking through the glass doors praying.
Every Wednesday night, I am at church one hour early and after tuning the guitars and setting
things up, I find myself going to the glass doors and looking out and praying.
I am at church one hour early on Sunday morning and Sunday night, in my 27 years here as
pastor of a small rural church
I find my self standing longingly watching the traffic going up and down 101, praying, dreaming,
hoping, EXPECTING people to come. I really peer out the windows hoping God's son, Jesus
will dwell with us and we welcome the Holy Spirit's presence to help us worship and praise.
THE WINDOW HAS MEANING TO ME.
Sometimes I listen as my wife and grandchildren as they are giggling and playing.
I will leave my office and stand at the sliding glass doors an so enjoy watching them playing
in pool. THE WINDOW HAS MEANING TO ME.
At home in my study, I often turn my chair to the window and ponder God's word and search
my heart and motives. We keep a 50 pound salt block for the deer to lick and I stand and watch
the deer run and play. THE WINDOW HAS MEANING TO ME.
Other times I stand at a SPIRITUAL WINDOW... I think of hurting people? I think of heaven?
I think about POTENTIAL and REAL CHANGE!
PLEASE HEAR MY HEART TODAY ---
I BELIEVE THE DARKER THE NIGHT THE GREATER THE LIIGHT.
I STAND AT NIGHT AND LOOK WITH MY HEART --- MY GOD CAN HANDLE THIS SITUATION.
I SEE THE HISTORY OF PEOPLE'S PAIN, HURT, BITTERNESS AND HOPELESSNESS AND
I FEEL A SERMON I COULD NEVER PREACH... I LOOK THROUGH THE WINDOW OF TIME...
LET US DISCUSS WHY ON 9/11/ 2001 THE TARGET WAS THE WORLD TRADE CENTER?
THERE WERE 7 BUILDINGS THAT COMPOSED THE WORLD TRADE CENTER PLAZA,
THE FREEDOM CENTER!
Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against
itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
UNITED WE STAND...
THE 7 BUILDINGS OF THE THE WORLD TRADE CENTER BECAME A SYMBOL TO THE
WHOLE WORLD... ESPECIALLY THE TWIN TOWERS... THE WAS 12 MILLION SQUARE
FEET IN THE TOWERS.
1. WTC #2 --- NORTH TOWER ---- 2. WTC #2 --- THE SOUTH TOWER...
BOTH HAD 110 STORIES, AT THE TIME OF BUILDING THEY BECAME THE TALLEST
BUILDINGS IN THE WORLD.
THIS COMPLEX SPOKE TO THE WHOLE WORLD OF PEACE, UNITY AND CO-OPERATION
AND IT BECAME A GLOBAL FINANCIAL DISTRICT.
THIS WAS AN IN YOUR FACE TESTIMONY OF MAN'S DEDICATION TO WORLD PEACE
AND THE GLOBAL MARKET PLACE... IT WAS A LIVING SYMBOL OF UNITY, PROSPERITY,
HOPE, PEACE AND FREEDOM.
THE WTC WAS ALSO KNOW AS THE FREEDOM CENTER...
The TWIN TOWERS had thick external walls of support, with the remainder of the support system
being in the center of the buildings which also housed the elevator systems of the tall structure.
The building had a 408 feet tall antenna on the top.
THE TOWER WAS MEASURED 1776 FEET TALL... THE YEAR OF THE USA.
I BELIEVE THAT ON 9/11/2001 THERE WERE MANY PEERING OUT THE WINDOW
THAT QUICKLY LEARNED GOD TAKESOUR HURT AND PAIN AND REVEALS HIS
LOVE TO THE HOPELESS.
Matthew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all
these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and
kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers

That many people CAME TO THE WINDOW OF HOPELESSNESS and FOUND A
CLOSENESS TO THE HEART OF GOD.
28 JIHADIST --- MOSLIM --- RADICAL ISLAMIST TERRORIST CAME TO THE USA
TO WAGE A HOLY WAR --- Things did not develop as planned, and the number was reduced to 19...

THE PLOT STARTED IN 1993 WITH A BOMBING ATTEMPT ON THE WORLD TRADE CENTER.
AL-QUEDA HAD FAILED IN THE BOMBING ATTEMPT SO THEY WENT BACK TO THE
PLANNING STAGE AND DEVELOPED A PLAN TO BACK THE BACK OF THE USA.

5 MEN BOARDED AMAERICAN AIRLINES FLIGHT 77 ...THE BOEING 767 HAD 20,000 GALLONS FUEL
4 MEN BOARDED UNITED AIRLINES FLIGHT 93...
AS THESE 19 HATE FILLED MEN PURCHASED THEIR TICKETS AND BOARDED THE
JETS THEY LOOKED OUT THE WINDOWS WITH HATE AND RAGE...
THE JETS WERE TRAVELLING AN ESTAIMATED 470 MPH.
THE PEOPLE WERE CALLING HOME AND LOOKING OUT THE WINDOWS...
EACH PERSON HAD TIME TO REFLECT AND THINK ABOUT THEIR LIFE AS THEY PEERED
OUT THE WINDOWS...
THERE WERE 102 MINUTES OF SPIRITUAL AND INTERNAL REFLECTION BETWEEN
WHEN THE AMERICAN AIRLINES JET TRAVELING 470 MPH WITH 20,000 GALLONS OF
FUEL ON BOARD HIT THE TOWER AND IT FELL TO THE GROUND...
The jet hit the WTC at 8:46 am and the tower crashed at 10:28 am.
I is estimated that there was 15,000 + in the towers when the JET hit.
Roughly 12,000 escaped.
OF THE ROUGHLY 3,000 LEFT IN THE BUILDLING...
MANY COULD BE SEEN AND HEARD AS THEY LOOKED OUT THE WINDOWS...
THE WORLD TRADE CENTER HAD NARROW 22 INCH WINDOWS WITH AN ALLUMINUM
ALLOY FACADE.
AS THOUSANDS ESCAPED POLICE OFFICERS AND FIRE PERSONEL WERE RUNNING IN
THE BUILDING --- AROUND 400 POLIE OFFICERS AND FIRE FIGHTERS GAVE THEIR
LIFE AS AN OFFERING...
TWO JETS HIT THE WORLD TRADE CENTER ---
ONE JET HIT THE PENTEGON WHERE 120 PEOPLE DIED THAT DAY...
MANY BURNED UP IN THE HELLISH FIRES WHILE LOOKING OUT THE WINDOWS.
THE OTHER JET CRASHED IN A FIELD IN PENNSYLVANIA ---
THE TERRORIST UNDER-ESTIMATED THE DETERMINATION OF THE PEOPLE ON
JET AS THEY SACRIFICED THEIR LIFES TO SAVE THEIR TARGET... IT IS BELIEVED
THEIR TARGET WAS THE WHITEHOUSE AND CAPITOL BUILDINGS?
I HAVE BUILD MY LIFE, MY FAMILY AND MY MINISTRY THAT GOD HAS A WINDOW
BEYOND MY DREAMING ABILITY! I KNOW THAT CHANGE IS POSSIBLE AND THAT
YESTERDAY CAN NOT DEFINE WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO IN ME AND THROUGH ME.
THERE IS A WINDOW WHERE I CAN GIVE HOPE TO THE HOPELESS....
There has been a day of hopelessness in the land.
The drought had been so long and there was NO FOOD, and NO HOPE of conditions
improving...
The Man of God comes before to KING to make a DECLARATION OF HOPE...
ELISHA CLEARLY STATES: About this time tomorrow THERE WILL BE FOOD A PLENTY...
There will be FLOUR and BARLEY AND IT WILL BE AFFORDABLE.
THE NEGATIVE NAY-SAYERS BOLDLY SAY THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE... NO WAY, HOSEA...
THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY OF THE GOD FACTOR!
2 Kings 7:2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said,
Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold,
thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
2 Kings 7:19 And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD
should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt
see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
CONCLUSION: COME WITH ME TO THE WINDOW OF GOD, THERE IS HOPE, PEACE,
JOY, LOVE AND ETERNAL HOPE.
2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed:
for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have
committed unto him against that day.
AS THE PEOPLE PEERED OUT OF THE WINDOWS FROM FLIIGHT 11, 175, 77, AND 93...
THEIR DESPAIRED TURNED THEIR HEARTS TOWARD GOD AND THE AL-QUEDA
ISLAMIC EXTREMIST FAILED TO DESTROY THE HEARTS OF THOSE THAT WILL LIVE ON
FOREVER WITH THE LORD.
FOR THE APPROXIATELY 3000 THAT WERE LOOKING OUT THE WINDOWS OF
THE WORLD TRADE CENTER NORTH AND SOUTH. THEIR GLOOM AND DESPAIR
CHANGED --- THOSE WINDOWS MAY HAVE BEEN 22 INCHES WIDE, BUT THE VISION
THEY EXPOSED WAS TO THE VERY HEART OF GOD.
THE TERRORIST FORGOT GOD HAS A WINDOW OF HOPE AND THEIR HATRED AND
BITTERNESS CAN NEVER DESTROY LOVE, AS LOVE NEVER FAILS.
I find my self --- PEERING OUT THE WINDOW --- I find myself going to the glass doors and
looking out and praying. MY LIFE IS NOT IN VAIN...
THE WINDOW BRINGS ME TO THE HEART OF GOD ...praying, dreaming, hoping, EXPECTING
people TO FIND THE HEART OF GOD.. I really peer out hoping God's son, Jesus
will dwell with us and we welcome the Holy Spirit's presence to help us worship and praise.
LORD, HELP ME SEE YOU...
John 12:21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired
him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
JESUS WE STAND AT THE WINDOW...
