#17 UNDERSTANDING LOVE: FAILURE IS NOT THE END
HOPE BEYOND THE VISUAL FIELD...
BEYOND EMOTIONS LOVE WALKS BY FAITH

Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written,
The just shall live by faith.
Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have
no pleasure in him.
LOVE UNDERSTANDS WE MUST SEE BEYOND TODAY?
There is a story that is a little tainted today but the truth is still illustrated therein.
A man was born Feb. 17, 1936, a black man in Georgia.
The road was difficult but JIM BROWN was a great athlete in several sports.
He played college ball at Syracuse. Jim was the 6th pick in the first round of the NFL draft.
This man was a very famous NFL player, his named JIM BROWN.
Jim Brown was a record setting NFL FULL BACK, he played for the CLEVELAND BROWNS.
Brown played when a NFL season was 12 games, not the 16 OF TODAY.
BROWN HELD THE SINGLE SEASON RECORD YARDAGE OF 1,863 YARDS.
BROWN HAD A CAREER TOTAL YARDS OF 12,312 YARDS.
WITH 126 CAREER TOUCHDOWNS... THE RECORD BOOK WAS FULL OF JIM BROWN,
6'2". 232 POUNDS.
THE YEAR IS 1957, the state is California. a 10 year old boy was raised in the ghetto
and often had very poor nutrition and because of this he suffered RICKETS.
This young boy wore steel braces on both legs because he had bowed out legs.
This young boy had a hero: JIM BROWN.
The young boy had no money to get in the game, so he stood outside of the locker
rooms until the game was over.
This young boy approached JIM BROWN and asked for his AUTOGRAPH.
As Jim Brown signed the autograph the young boy said:
"MR. BROWN, I HAVE YOUR PICTURE ON MY WALL.
I KNOW YOU HOLD ALL THE RECORDS. YOU ARE MY IDOL.
Brown turned to leave but the young cripple boy had more to say:
MR. BROWN, ONE DAY I'M GOING TO BREAK EVERY RECORD YOU HOLD."
Jim Brown was impressed with the GOALS THE YOUNG BOY SET.
BROWN ASK THE BOY: WHAT IS YOUR NAME?
THE BOY REPLIED: ORENTHAL JAMES. MY FRIENDS ALL CALL ME O.J.
SIMPSON WENT ON TO BREAK MANY OF THE RECORDS THAT JIM BROWN
HELD. And as we know INJURIES SHORTENED O.J.'s career.
We must dream beyond our visual field. We must hope beyond our abilities
today. We must reach higher --- WE MUST ARISE AND FOCUS BEYOND TODAY'S
LIMITATIONS AND PROBLEMS.
I TELL THIS STORY AS A VALID POINT EVEN THOUGH O.J. SIMPSON HAS
MADE SOME TERRIBLE CHOICES AFTER HIS GREAT SUCCESS.
SEEMS LIKE WE ARE LEARNING MORE AND MORE ABOUT LESS AND LESS
UNTIL WE FINALLY KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT NOTHING.
WE HAVE TAUGHT OUR CHILDREN TO LIVE ON CREDIT.
Popeye had a friend named WEMPY.
Wempy was always hungry. Wempy never had any Monday.
Wempy had one line that he is famous for:
I WILL GLADLY REPAY YOU TUESDAY FOR A HAMBURGER TODAY.
A Wempy spirit lures in the halls of our homes, schools and churches.
2 Timothy 3:7 (KJV) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
I REFUSE TO COME DOWN OFF THE WALL AND ARGUE WITH YOU...
I REFUSE TO ARGUE WITH THE ENEMY CAN ANYONE CHANGE...
I was praying alone at the altar this week. I was asking God for some big dreams for
people, of families, of churches, and our nation CHANGING AND RETURNING TO THE
WORD OF GOD AS OUR STANDARD.
As I was praying I was seeking God to give me the words, the speaking ability and the great
skills of a teacher to HELP ME AND PEOPLE TO HAVE HOPE AND REAL CHANGE.
I believe: GOD CAN bring real change!
Not a wounded eagle with a broken wing flying in circles and FACING REPETITVE PROBLEMS
and never ever able to come to the knowledge of truth.
WHILE PRAYING THE ENEMY SPOKE VERY CLEARLY:
THEY CANNOT CHANGE. THEY WILL NEVER CHANGE. THEY HAVE BEEN THAT WAY SO
LONG THAT THEY ARE HABITUALLY TRAPPED TO BE FOREVER THE SAME.
I STARTED ARGUING TO MYSELF: CAN A PERSON CHANGE?
THEN I SAID: SELF YOU NEED NOT ARGUE THIS POINT,
TURN THIS OVER TO THE GOD OF ETERNITY...
DO I REAL BELIEVE GOD CAN BRING ABOUT CHANGE?
DO I TRUST GOD CAN BRING ABOUT CHANGE?
Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God:
for with God all things are possible.
THE ANGELS REFUSED TO ARGUE WITH THE ENEMY...
OUR HOPE IS BEYOND THE VISUAL FIELD --- IT OPERATES IN THE REALM OF FAITH!
Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body
of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
LOVE UNDERSTAND SOMETIMES IN LIFE WE FAILED MISERABLY.
I MADE A MESS OUT OF THIS TEST... OFTEN WE HAVE ACTIONS WITHOUT THOUGHTS?
Once I made a low grade in Math.
I had read that the genius ALBERT EINSTEIN had once made a failing grade in Math.
I explained: MOM, ALBERT EISTEIN failed in Math one time.
Mom said: YES, AND HIS MOM PROBABLY GROUNDED HIM TOO.
DAVID DID NOT LOOK BEYOND HIS VISUAL FIELD TO SEE BEYOND THE PHYSICAL.
DAVID WAS A GREAT AND MIGHTY WARRIOR --- THEY SANG: "DAVID HAS SLAIN 10,000's.
David did not UNDERSTAND: CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES...
2 Samuel 11:1 And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth
to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the
children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.
DAVID UNDERSTOOD LOVE SOMETIMES FAILS...
FAILURE DOES NOT DOOM YOU! FAILURE IS NEUTRAL ---
IT IS NEITHER GOOD OR BAD --- IT IS WHAT YOU DO WITH YOUR FAILURES.
THERE ARE TIMES FAILURE CAN BE A GIFT FROM GOD...
Sometimes the worse thing that could happen to you could be the best thing that ever happened to you...
As I thought about PEOPLE WITH THEIR NECKS IN A TRAP.
I thought God can help in two ways:
1. Humans are the only varmints that build traps and then stick their own neck in the trap.
God can help us LEARN HOW TO IDENTIFY TRAPS, to see the traps and
LEARN TO AVOID THEM... This is the best answer.
2. I believe GOD HAS A PLAN TO HELP US ONCE WE ARE IN THE TRAP TO MINIMIZE
THE DAMAGE AND HELPS US GET FREE WITH AS FEW OF SCARS AS POSSIBLE.
LOVE UNDERSTANDS FAILURE DOES NOT HAVE TOI BE A STUMBLING BLOCK---
FAILURE CAN BE AN OPPORTUNITY...
Often what we call ADVERSITY --- GOD CALLS OPPORTUNITY...
SURE DAVID WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER MAN IF HE HAD BEEN ON THE BATTLE
FIELD WITH HIS OTHER SOLDIERS.
ONE OF OUR ENEMY'S GREATEST TOOLS IS VERY SIMPLE:
OUR ENEMY WANTS US TO FOCUS ON OUR PROBLEMS AND FAILURES ---
THEN HE HAS US WHIPPED --- KNOCKED OUT WITH THW COUNT OF 10...
LOVE UNDERSTAND GOD PRIDES HIMSELF IN LOVING WEAK THINGS ---
YOU ARE MESSED UP! YOU ARE THE MAN...
THE ENEMY WILL BURY YOU IN DOOM AND GLOOM
2 Samuel 12:7 (KJV) And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man.
2 Samuel 12:7 (MSG) "You're the man!" said Nathan.
FAILURE IS NOT THE LAST WORD ---
2 Samuel 12:13 (KJV) And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And
Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
2 Samuel 12:13 (MSG) Then David confessed to Nathan, "I've sinned against God." Nathan
pronounced, "Yes, but that's not the last word. God forgives your sin. You won't die for it.
GOD FORGIVES LET HIM... GOD SENT NOT HIS SON TO TELL YOU HOW BAD OF A
FAILURE YOU ARE... GOD HAS A PLAN...
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:17 (MSG) God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing
finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.
LOVE UNDERSTANDS GOD'S BOTTOME LINE...
WHAT DOES GOD HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT LYING, ADULTER, MURDERING FAILURE
THAT GOD GAVE EVERY CHANCE IN THE WORLD...
Acts 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also
he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which
shall fulfil all my will.
23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
LOVE UNDERSTANDS GOD CAN MAKE THE CLAY AGAIN...
DO NOT ALLOW THE ENEMY TO PAINT A FALSE PICTURE OF YOUR FAILURE...
IT IS TIME TO DREAM AGAIN...
Jeremiah 18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 2 Arise, and go down to
the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. 3 Then I went down to the potter's
house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4 And the vessel that he made of clay was
marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter
to make it.

CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART...
RENEW A RIGHT SPIRIT...
CAST ME NOT AWAY...
RESTORE UNTO ME...
I WILL TEACH ...
I WILL TEACH THE WONDERFUL STORY THAT GOD TAKES FAILURES
AND BRINGS INTO THE BLOOD LINE OF JESUS.
THIS CAN BE ANOTHER ISSUE TO DEVELOP?
LOVE UNDERSTANDS GOD IS NOT SEARCHING FOR PERFECT PEOPLE...
OUR ENEMY PAINTS A LYING PICTURE THAT HE SELLS TO THE WORLD...
GOD IS LOOKING FOR PERFECT PEOPLE...
WHEN YOU GET YOUR PROBLEMS ALL FIXED, THEN COME TO GOD AND HE WILL
ACCEPT YOU AND YOU WILL BE A GOOD PERSON!
1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Good people go to hell just like bad people.
Just because you don't say bad words, and your family looks like a good family, and you have
ALL YOUR DUCKS IN A ROW ...
THERE IS NO OTHER NAME WHEREBY YOU CAN BE SAVED...
THAN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST THE SAVIOR AND LORD...

As night was coming on, a good shepherd would gather the sheep in an area that was protected
all the way around. There was one little area in which the sheep would enter and exit.
Nothing could get to the sheep but through this door... THE GOOD SHEPHERD WOULD GATHER
ALL THE SHEEP TO THIS SAFE PLACE AND THEN THE GOOD SHEPHERD WOULD LAY
IN THE GAP... ANY DANGER HAD TO GO THROUGH THE SHEPHERD'S SAFE WATCH.

LOVE UNDERSTANDS THE ONLY HOPE WE CAN HAVE IS TO HAVE OUR NAMES WRITTEN

CONTRARY TO TODAY'S TV PREACHERS AND TALK SHOW HOST THAT SAY THAT THERE
ARE MANY WAYS TO GOD... Some even teach all paths lead to God. How twisted can we be?
I DO NOT DEFINE, YOU CANNOT DEFINE, SOCIETY DOES NOT DEFINE THE WAY TO GOD...
ONLY GOD AND HIS WORD CAN DEFINE TRUTH...
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened:
and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things

WE WOULD WELCOME SAUL IN OUR CHURCHES TODAY AND REMOVE DAVID'S NAME
FROM OUR ROLLS?
