THE WAR ROOM --- WHEN ALL IS SAY AND DONE?

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified
in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
I. WHERE ARE THE WAR ROOMS TODAY?
WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE ABOUT PRAYER OFTEN MORE IS SAID THAN DONE...
A. GOD DESIGNED HIS PLAN BASED ON THE TOOL OF PRAYER.
B. Much of the Bible is devoted to the SUBJECT OF PRAYER...
Prayer is both important and a necessity for those that love God.
C. ADAM AND EVE WALKED AND TALKED WITH GOD IN THE COOL OF THE EVENINGS...
BUT PRAYER IS FIRST MENTIONED IN GENESIS 4.
Genesis 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos:
then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
II. HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE WAR ROOM --- PRAYER ROOM?
DO WE SEE PRAYER AS A MANDATORY TOOL?
HOW WOULD WE DEFINE PRAYER?
A. PRAY, PRAYER:
To speak to God, to give God thanks, or to ask,
TO ADDRESS GOD, TO MAKE DIVINE PETITION, AN EARNEST REQUEST,
B. I am told in the 1940's during World War II, that the churches were left open all night and
Mother's would go and pray for the men in battle. I heard from people in eastern Kentucky
that you could walk up and down the hollows and hear women on their porches,
sitting in their swings praying for their sons ---
C. We are in a war... and all out war for the young people in our communities.
The enemy is out to steal, kill and destroy --- SEXUAL REVOLTION? ABORTION? HOMOSEXUALITY?
Isis --- GOD HAVE MERCY...
Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy
door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall
reward thee openly.
D. The Bible records where ever ABRAHAM traveled he DUG WELLS and BUILT ALTARS...
Where are our WAR ROOMS?
III. THE GREAT VICTORIES OF THE BIBLE COME FROM A WAR ROOM... AT HOME,
IN THE FIELDS AND AT CHURCH...
A. I have been to the WAILING WALL, or the WESTERN WALL... 24 HOURS A DAY
PRAYER ASCENDS...
Isaiah 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of
prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine
house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
B. GOD HAS BUILT HIS SYSTEM UP ON THE ROCK OF PRAYER...
Mark 11:17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations
the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
IV. WE CAN EASILY MISS THE HIDDEN LESSONS---
THE BOYS ASK JESUS NOT TEACH US HOW TO PRAY ---
THEY ASK JESUS TEACH US TO PRAY...
Luke 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of
his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
V. DID YOU KNOW THAT HELL HAS A WAR ROOM WHERE THEY PRAY?
A. Of all the places in this Universe, HELL HAS PRAYER MEETINGS...
Luke 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared
sumptuously every day:
24. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip
of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
B. In Hell THEY TESTIFY, PRAY AND SEEK FOR MISSIONS...
VI. THE OLD PREACHERS WERE MEN THAT PRAYED --- THEIR PRAYER LIFES ARE
RECORDED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT...
A. ELIJAH WAS NO SUPER HUMAN --- HE WAS SUBJECT TO LIKE PASSIONS (EMOTIONS)
He had to learn to overcome doubt, fear, negative tongues, anger, jealousy, hurt, bitterness,
stubbornness...
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not
rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
B. ELIJAH PRAYED EARNESTLY
C. HE PRAYED AGAIN...
VII. GREAT MEN OF GOD KNEW THE VALUE OF PRAYER...
THEY KNEW YOU HAD TO SEEK THE PRESENCE OF A HOLY GOD IN THE WAR ROOM...
A. THE WAR ROOM WILL CHANGE YOU...
Jacob was know as the CHEATER, the sub planter... Jacob's prayer life changed him in one night.
JACOB WRESTLED ALL NIGHT ---
Genesis 32 --- I WILL NOT LET YOU GO UNLESS YOU BLESS ME...
Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince
hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
B. DAVID GAVE HIMSELF...
David had people with lying tongues and mean cruel opposition...
He did not defend himself or appeal to a higher court...
Psalm 109:4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.
David GAVE HIMSELF TO THE PRACTICE & EXERCISE OF PRAYER...
WAR ROOM PRAYERS TAKE AWAY FEAR AND WORRY...
Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
C. DANIEL KNEW TERRIBLE TIMES --- HE WAS A SLAVE ---
BUT HE OPENED THE WINDOWS IN HIS WAR ROOM 3 TIMES A DAY...
Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his
windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times
a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
D. WEAKNESS AFTER GREAT VICTORIES?
DELIVERED FROM THE BIG ISSUES, DYING OF A SMALL THING...
SAMSON WAS THIRSTING TO DEATH...
SAMSON WAS DELIVERED FROM 1,000 PHILISTINES AND NOW DYING OF THIRST?
Judges 15:18 And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given
this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into
the hand of the uncircumcised?
E. PAUL AND SILAS WERE IN JAIL AND PRAYED...
The King killed a preacher and made every one happen...
Paul and Silas MADE A WAR ROOM IN THE JAIL HOUSE...
Acts 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners
heard them.
VIII. THREE TIMES ASLEEP AND NOT PRAYING?
TO ENTER INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD AND HIS HOUSE PRAYER MUST BE A PRIORITY...
THE WAR ROOM --- SPIRIT WILLING --- THE FLESH IS WEAK?
SLEEP ON
Matthew 26:40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter,
What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation:
the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. 42 He went away again the second time, and prayed,
saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold,
the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
JESUS PRAYED... HE INTERCEDEEDED...
Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen
thy brethren.
IX. SPARE TIRE PRAYING? THE ONLY TIME YOU GET THE SPARE TIRE OUT IS WHEN THERE
IS A PROBLEM?
A. JONAH LEARNED HOW TO PRAY IN A WAR ROOM...
Jonah 2:1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,
2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of
hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
B. THE WAR ROOM IS NOT A SHOW OFF PLACE...
JUST BECAUSE YOU PRAY MANY MANY WORDS DOES NOT IMPRESS GOD...
Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that
they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Matthew 6:7 (NLT) “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think
their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again.
C. DO WE HAVE TO HAVE LONG, POETIC PRAYERS FOR OUR WAR ROOM??
THE STORM RAGS HIGH, THE WIDS ARE CONTRARY...
it did not take an hour long prayer... a short earnest prayer...
A THREE WORD PRAYER IS EFFECTIVE...
Matthew 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried,
saying, Lord, save me.
B. Peter prayed late but not too late...
PRAYERS ALWAYS GO BEFORE BLESSINGS... & MERCY
CONCLUSION:
Colossians 4:2 (KJV) Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
INTERCESSORY PRAYER...
PRAY ONE FOR ANOTHER...

PRAYER IN AN HOUR OF TRIALS... THE PRAYER OF RESIGNATION
Matthew 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my
Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
PRAYER IS EFFECTIVE, NOT AS A DEMAND, BUT IN THE FATHER'S WILL...
IN THE FATHER'S WILL
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his
will, he heareth us:
LET US FIND A WAR ROOM AND PRAY FAITHFULLY.
