DNA? IS REAL CHANGE POSSIBLE? OR ARE WE FOREVER TRAPPED TO STAY THE SAME?

I. IT MAY BE VERY POSSIBLE TO ACCUSE OR EXCUSE OUR WORDS AND
BEHAVIORS UNTIL WE SEAR THE VERY GOD CONSCIENCE WITHIN THE
HEART AND MIND.
A. WHAT IS YOUR CONSCIENCE?
It is the faculty of the human mind which is an inborn sense of right and wrong.
We operate our judgmental system of conduct and moral behavior by our personal standard
of believes by our conscience.
1 Timothy 1:19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning
faith have made shipwreck:
B. ALL HUMAN CONSCIENCE WAS PERVERTED AFTER ADAM & EVE'S CHOICES
WHICH CAUSED THE FALL...
Romans 2:15 Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing
witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
C. THE TENDANCY OF FALLEN MAN IS TO DEFILE OR SEAR THE CONSCIENCE
TO EXCUSE AND JUSTIFY BEHAVIOR THAT IS NOT MORAL NOR IS IT BIBLICAL.
Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing
pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
D. WE CAN SEAR OUR SPIRITUAL COMPASS UNTIL IT LOSES ALL SPIRITUAL
GUIDANCE.
1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
SEAR: To not be able to feel, think properly. Devoid of emotion or right.
To burn and damage the surface, TO NUMB, to wither or dry up, to be scared...
E. It can be very possible to SOOTH YOUR CONSCIENCE INSTEAD OF AWAKENING IT.
We might just PRODUCE A SENCE OF SELF-SATISFACTION and proclaim eternal safety
rather than realizing the true SENCE OF WRONG and UNWORTHINESS...
F. WE CAN SEAR OUR SPIRITUAL CONSCIENCE UNTIL WE RE-DEFINE ALL MORAL AND
SPIRITUAL TRUTH.
The Bible must forever be THE STANDARD OF TRUTH...
PLUS WE NEED HONEST FAITHFUL VECHILES OF TRUTH TO RAISE THE STANDARD.
II. IS IT POSSIBLE TO ACCEPT LIES AS TRUTH? WILL WE JUSTIFY WRONG AS RIGHT...???
THE CONSCIENCE BECOMES THE MORAL COMPASS OF EVERY BELIEVER.
2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should
believe a lie:
A. Did you hear about the millionaire that bought a huge pleasure yacht and would stay out
on the ocean with his family and friends for many days. His little son had some powerful
magnets he loved to play with. One day the lad placed two magnets on the EXPENSIVE
COMPASS used to navigate the ship. The boy left the magnets attached to the compass and
went of playing. The captain of the ship sailed true to the COMPASS, not knowing the magnets
were there. After several days the captain of the ship thought they were coming to a port and
they did not. He said to the owner, we are lost, something is wrong.
I have done everything right and we are far off course?
2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
B. THE CONSCIENCE CAN BE SEARED BY LEGALISM. This can dominate to the point of
twisting and confusing and manipulation by A SHAME BASED OPION...
C. THE CONSCIENCE CAN BE SEAR BY LIBERALISM AND HUMAN OPINION... My emotions,
feelings and desires dictate what I will do and I will justify my wrongs.
D. ANY SAY THE EMOTIONS AND THE HEART SHOULD DEFINE TRUTH. We can get overly
sensitive or calloused and dull.
E. REMEMBER NIXON AND WATERGATE?
Jeb Stuart Magruder was the Presidential aide to Richard Nixon discussed WATERGATE.
His words stated: "WE CONNED OURSELVES INTO THINKING WE WERE NOT DOING
ANYTHING REALLY WRONG.
BY THE TIME WE WERE DOING THINGS THAT WERE ILLEGAL, WE LOST CONTROL. WE
HAD GONE FROM POOR ETHICAL BEHAVIOR INTO ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES WITHOUT EVEN
REALIZING IT."
Several good men ended up disgraced and in jail, and President Nixon had to resign
playing with the proverbial line in the sand.
III. WE MUST CHANGE --- WE MUST CHANGE THE WAY WE THINK! HOW BIG IS YOUR
PROBLEM? I AM TRAPPED --- THIS IS A FAMILY HABIT THAT HAS GROWN INTO A
FAMILY CURSE? IT IS NOT MY FAULT, IT IS MY HISTORY?
A. Part of a seared conscience can grow from BLAMING OTHERS...
Eve blamed the serpent. ADAM blamed EVE and he suggested it might be God's fault,
that woman that you gave me...
B. As adults we tend to blame others for alcoholism, drug abuse, tempers...
John 9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that
he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the
works of God should be made manifest in him.
C. JESUS WILL NOT DEBATE THE NUTURE VS NATURE --- Is this problem a problem... ???
D. TO CHANGE WE MUST NIP IT IN THE BUD (Barney Fife)... THE QUESTION IS NOT HOW
BIG IS YOUR PROBLEM?
THE ANSWER IS: HOW BIG IS YOUR GOD? YOU AND GOD BECOME THE MAJORITY AND
ALL EXCUSES CEASE.
YOU CAN CHANGE IF YOU WANT TO... ALLOW GOD...
IV. TODAY WE HERE THE CLAIM IT IS IN THE DNA? YOU CAN CHANGE--- IF YOU SO
DESIRE?
A. WE ARE DEFINED BY OUR SYMPTOM, THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM IS DEEPER THAN
THE DNA... GOD UNDERSTANDS THE ROOT OF YOUR PROBLEM AND CAN BRING REAL
CHANGE, NOT JUST CHANGE THE SYMPTONS BUT TO CHANGE THE HEART OF THE
PROBLEM...
B. I saw on TV, a man in prison refused a DNA test that would prove he was guilty or
innocent? The reporter offered the man some cigarettes while the interview was going on?
The man accepted and smoked several.
When the prisoner left the room, the reporter took the cigarette butts to the lab and they
had enough DNA to convict the criminal.
DNA IS IN YOUR SALIVA, SPIT...
John 9:6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he
anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
C. THE MIRACLE CHANGE IS NOT JUST BLINDNESS AND WHO IS AT FAULT...
IT WAS NOT THE MUD IN HIS EYES ---
IT WAS JESUS' DNA --- THE CHILD CARRIES THE DNA AND BLOOD OF HIS FATHER...
V. CHANGE IS A PROCESS, IT IS NOT ALWAYS INSTANT. CHANGE IS OBEDIENCE.
YOU CAN CHANGE --- MY FRIEND, AN EFFORT IS DEMANDED OF YOU --- GO WASH ---
A. GO WASH, implies he was dirty? Clean up your attitudes, words and behavior ---
John 9:7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.)
He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
B. EVEN WITH JESUS' DNA TOUCH, THE MAN STILL WAS REQUIRED TO WASH AT
SILOAM... HE WAS STILL BLIND.
The blind man was required to TAKE ACTION TO CHANGE.
HE HAD TO MOVE TOWARD HIS MIRACLE --- MISSION--- SENT...
C. GO TO THE POOL AND WASH... MY YOURSELF CLEAN.
TAKE HEED UNTO THE DIRECTIONS --- CLEAN YOUR BRAIN AND PRESS ON.
THE WORDS OF JESYS CAN MAKE YOU CLEAN AND BRING REAL CHANGE...
VI. LET WE TELL YOU THIS TRUTH --- I REFUSE TO DEBATE RELIGIOUS OPINIONS
AND THE DOCTRINES OF MEN... READ MY LIPS ---
I AM FOREVER CHANGED --- JESUS' TOUCH MADE A CHANGE IN ME---
A. Ask the lady that had the ISSUE OF BLOOD FOR 12 YEARS ABOUT THE TOUCH
OF JESUS... IMMEDIATELY THE PROBLEM WAS HEALED, SHE TOUCHED THE HEM OF
HIS GARMENT WITH FAITH... I WILL GO HOME DIFFERENT THAN I CAME BY TOUCHING
THE DIVINE DNA... THE PRESENCE OF JESUS WILL BRING A CHANGE IN ME...
B. 38 long years by the pool --- vs. ONE DAY in the presence of Jesus.
C. ARGUE AND DEBATE ALL YOU DESIRE,
LET ME TELL YOU WHAT I KNOW...
John 9:25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I
know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
D. The blind man that can now see would RECOMMEND YOU TO COME INTO THE
PRESENCE OF JESUS AND BRING THE CHANGE, THE HEALING, THE HOPE THAT WE NEED.
CONCLUSION: Your conscience is our moral guide, it must be submitted to
"THE WORD OF GOD" and the LEADERSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
I hear the expression: " A COW GIVING MILK." I have never known a cow to give her milk.
The farmer has to work hard to get the milk.
God has a plan for you to change, to grow and to improve. You will not accidentally change.
CHANGE FOR THE BETTER REQUIRES GREAT EFFORT AND A PLAN.
