WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING? HEAR SOME BASIC LESSONS?

I. WHAT AM I REALLY TEACHING? ANGER DRIVEN?
MY EXAMPLE AS HOW I HANDLE AGITATION...
A. God gives very clear directions...
Numbers 20:8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother,
and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring
forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
B. There are some AGITATED ISSUE below the surface of the problem.
The problem is we need water --- THE ISSUE MIGHT BE A FRUSTRATED LEADER?
HEAR ME REBELS --- Moses allowed his bad attitude to AGITATE HIS SPIRIT...
The AGITATION REVEALS AND RELEASE ACTION THAT MOSES WILL REGRET...
Numbers 20:10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he
said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? 11 And Moses lifted up
his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the
congregation drank, and their beasts also.
C. AGITATE, AGITATION:
To disturb, excite, anger... to trouble the mind, emotions, feelings
To move or stir up... to discuss heatedly, to attempt to arouse...
D. TODAY FEW PEOPLE WITH AN AGITATED SPIRIT REPENT...
THEY BLAME PEOPLE...
WE ARE LIVING IN AN ANGER DRIVEN SOCIETY...
II. IT IS SAD TO HAVE AGITATION AND ANGER BECOMES AS A DRIVING FORCE...
BEHIND OUR WORDS AND DEEDS --- WE HINDER THE REAL MOVE OF GOD---
A. SPIRITUAL LEADERS CAN BE SELF-CENTERED AND OPERATE FOR SELFISH MOTIVES.
B. Did Jonah care about what God cared about?
C. Was Jonah recalling the HISTORY OF THE PAST AND HIS PREJUDICE CAUSED HIM
TO HATE THE NIVEVEHITES?
Jonah 4:4 Then said the LORD, Doest thou well to be angry?
D. JONAH'S PRIORITY SYSTEM WAS TWISTED ---
Jonah 4:9 And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to
be angry, even unto death.
E. JONAH WAS NOT CORRECTABLE?
THE MAN OF GOD NEVER REPENTED? HE NEVER ACCEPTED HIS ATTITUDE WAS
DISPLEASING TO GOD.
III. THIS STORM IS AN OPPORTUNITY...
YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE IT--- STAY WITH THE SHIP...
IT MAY TAKE A STORM TO GET US WHERE GOD WANTS US...
A. Can we see this storm is a FAITH STRETCHER?
Never FEAR the storm...
Acts 27:24 (KJV) Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath
given thee all them that sail with thee. 25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it
shall be even as it was told me.
B. God grants us the ability to see beyond the wind and pain of this storm.
Acts 27:24 (MSG) saying to me, 'Don't give up, Paul. You're going to stand before Caesar yet—
and everyone sailing with you is also going to make it.' 25 So, dear friends, take heart. I believe God
will do exactly what he told me.
C. NEVER JUMP SHIP DURING THE STORM.
Today in a mobile society we see SHIP JUMPING as the TREND...
The STORM can bring destruction.
Acts 27:31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship,
ye cannot be saved.
D. THE TEST THAT YOU WALK THROUGH TODAY, this storm that is brewing will be
THE GREATEST OPPORTUNITY TO WALK BY FAITH AND TRUST GOD TO LEAD YOU.
IV. DO NOT BE SURPRISED WHEN GOD'S PLAN COMES TOGETHER AND THE ANSWER
IS KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR.
A. You know the story: the king had killed one preacher and the people were so happy that the king
decided to do this PREACHER KILLING ON A REGULAR BASIS.
B. Someone knew that PRAYER WAS THE KEY, prayer is THE TOOL of the church.
C. While they knew prayer, apparently they never believed God was going to hear their
prayer.
Acts 12:13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.
14 And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how
Peter stood before the gate. 15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that
it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel. 16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had
opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.
D. THE EFFECTUAL FERVENT PRAYER AVAILS...
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
V. THE NEGATIVE MESSAGE'S POWER WILL KILL THE WORK OF FAITH.
WHY GIVE CREDANCE TO THE NEGATIVE REPORT: THE MORE GARBAGE YOU TAKE
IN YOUR EARS, THE MORE POWER OF DARKNESS YOU WILL RELEASE...
A. Why do people tend to see the negative and slay GOD'S ABILITY with their words.
Numbers 13:31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people;
for they are stronger than we.
B. The Preacher picked out 12 men to SCOUT OUT GOD'S POTENTIAL...
C. For 40 days, 2's a day: THE NEGATIVE MESSAGE BREED FEAR...
David was a set of fresh eyes and ears that never hear GOLIATH'S NEGATIVE MESSAGE.
David never cried in his tent? WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?
1 Samuel 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear,
and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel,
whom thou hast defied.
VI. NOTHING IS A BAD AS IT FIRST APPEARS...
OUR ENEMY DISTORTS REALITY AND TRYS THE TRUTH AND ALLOW OUR EMOTIONS
AND FEELINGS TO ACCEPT THE NEGATIVE WORDS AND DICTATE THE OUTCOME.
A. The siege of the enemy is terrible...
Rich people are eating DONKEY HEADS and bird manure...
B. THE CROWD SAYS: THERE IS NO WAY --- GOD CAN'T DO IT...
2 Kings 7:2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold,
if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see
it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof. 3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the
gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
C. 4 cripple men did hat they could and RELEASED A MIRACLE OF GOD...
THE QUESTION MAY BE: WHY SIT HERE UNTIL --- ???
VII. CAN FEELING THE STORM'S WINDS AND WAVES CAUSE US TO LOSE FOCUS?
IT TAKES AN INVITATION: COME TO GET OUT OF THE BOAT...
IT TAKES MUCH MORE FAITH TO GET OUT OF THE BOAT THAN TO STAY IN THE
BOAT AND TALK ABOUT THOSE THAT THAT HEAR THE INVITATION...
A. Jesus is walking on the water... He walks by the boat in a storm...
Fear reigns?
B. I ponder would Jesus have invited all 12 of the boys?
Or at least the 3 closest to him to walk on water? WHY NOT JOHN?
C. NEVER TRY WALKING ON WATER WITHOUT THE INVITATION ---
YOU WILL SHOW HOW WEAK YOU ARE...
Matthew 14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on
the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on
the water, to go to Jesus.
D. EVEN WITH THE INVITATION YOU MUST STAY FOCUSED ON JESUS ---
STORMS CAN KILL OUR FOCUS...
Matthew 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink,
he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
E. IT MIGHT TAKE GREATER FAITH TO GET OUT OF THE BOAT THAN TO WALK
ON THE WATER?
VIII. WORRY REVEALS A LACK OF PRIORTIES AND TRUST... WE MUST ACCEPT THE FACT
THAT WORRY AND FEAR ARE THE OPPOSED TO GOD'S WORK...
Matthew 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow
is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no
thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye
have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for
the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
A. There is no profit in worry and fear.
Worry means GOD I DO NOT TRUST YOU.
B. MARTHA could be known as the worried housekeeper?
C. NOTHING CREATES MORE DEEP SEATED WORRY AND ANXIETY THAN THE FALSE
ASSUMPTION THAT LIFE SHOULD BE FREE FROM ALL ANXIETY.
Conclusion: All of our problems are DOORWAYS TO MIRACLES...
Mark 5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the
synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
Our Father loves and cares for His children... God has a plan for peace and joy...
Will we HEAR HIM?
