WHY WAIT TO WE ARE BEAT UP TO REACH FOR THE SPINACH?
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD POPEYE SAY:

I ALWAYS THOUGHT POPEYE SHOULD EAT A LITTLE SPINACH FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH,
SUPPER, AND A MIDNIGHT SNACK...
WISDOM SAYS: DON'T WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE BEAT UP TO EAT YOUR SPINACH...

THAT CAN TELL FIRST HAND ABOUT DIVINE DELIVERANCE?
DELIVERANCE CAN TAKE MANY FORMS... AND STILL BE DIVINE DELIVERANCE...
A. LET US CALL FOR THE FIRST WITNESS ABOUT DIVINE DELIVERANCE A MR. JEHOSAHAPHAT.
1. JEHOSAHAPHAT, DO YOU SWEAR OR AFFIRM TO TELL THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, AND
NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH SO HELP YOU GOD... LET US CALL JEHOSAHAPHAT TO THE WITNESS

2. JEHOSAHAPHAT, CAN YOU TELL US WHO YOU ARE...?
I am JEHOSAHAPHAT, the King of JUDAH, I have been blessed with riches and honor in abundance.

I have lived in a pretty wicked day. Have you ever heard of AHAB AND JEZEBELL?
3. WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND YOU?
WE HAVE A BIG, BAD ENEMY...
Have you ever heard about the MOABITES?
LOT OLDEST SON AND HIS GRANDSON WAS NAMED MOAB.
The Moabites live east of the Jordan and the Dead Sea
They worship Baal-peor.
Remember the Moabites would not LET GOD'S PEOPLE WALK THROUGH THEIR TERRITORY
and they had to walk around...

Well the Moabites have teamed up with the AMMONITES TO DESTROY US...

5. Well, JEHOSAHAPHAT, what did you do?
The only thing I knew to do...
2 Chron. 20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout
all Judah.
6. After I started seeking the Lord, I called the people of JUDAH TO PRAY...
2 Chron. 20:4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord: even out of all the cities of
Judah they came to seek the Lord.
7. THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD CAME DOWN AND TOLD US...
2 Chron. 20:15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat,
Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is
not yours, but God's.
8. THE LORD WILL "BE WITH US"... DO YOU KNOW HOW COMFORTING IT IS FOR THE LORD TO BE
"WITH US?"
2 Chron. 20:17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of
the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them:
for the Lord will be with you.
9. THE LORD PROMISED US THOUGH THE ENEMY IS GREAT, HE IS GREATER...
THE LORD SAID: WE DO NOT EVEN HAVE TO FIGHT...
2 Chron. 20:17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation

10. THE LORD TOLD US TO BELIEVE THE PREACHERS AND THE LORD'S WORD...
2 Chron. 20:20 ... Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem;
Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
11. YOU KNOW WHAT WE DID? WHEN ENOUGH GOT TO BE ENOUGH.
WE STARTED SINGING AND THEN THE LORD DELIVERED US...
2 Chron. 20:22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the
children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
B. We call Paul of Tarsus to the witness stand...

Yes, I count it joy to suffer for the CROSS OF JESUS...

I am not sure you will believe this... but there was an earthquake, and I walked out of the jail house...

I heard Paul's testimony, I can top that...
AN ANGEL CAME OPENED THE DOOR AND LET ME OUT...
I TESTIFY THAT THIS IS DIVINE DELIVERANCE?

John answers I made a woman very angry, and she had FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES. I just called SIN SIN.
Her daughter pleased the King, and they asked to have me killed...

My name is STEPHEN, I was appointed one of 7 DEACONS to help the preachers with the widows.
2. THERE WAS A MEAN MAN THAT HELD THE COATS AS THE PEOPLE THREW STONES
AT ME. HIS NAME WAS SAUL OF TARSUS. YOUR HONOR HE HAS WITNESSED HEAR BEFFORE

3. My death started a work in his heart, he would never be the same...
4. Let me also tell you, your honor, after I gave my testimony the crowd got very angry and started throwing
rocks at me. As they hit me --- it hurt really bad...
THEN THE WEARDEST THING HAPPENED...
Acts 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God,

DAVID SAYS THE LORD HAS PREPARED ME... I FACED A LION, BEAR, SO I KNOW GOD DELIVERS
AND GOLIATH IS NOTHING TO ME...
1 Samuel 17:37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw
of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the
Lord be with thee.
Psalm 81:7 Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I
proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.
Psalm 107:6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
Psalm 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
F. SOME PEOPLE WILL SETTLE FOR FOR LESS THAN A TOTAL DELIVERANCE...

I FEEL BAD AND I AM ON MY DEATH BED...
3. JOASH THE NEW KING OF ISRAEL CAME TO VISIT, HE HAS GREAT POTENTIAL...
I WEPT AND CRIED OVER THIS JOASH...
4. I TOLD HIM TO TAKE THE ARROWS, I TOLD HIM TO OPEN THE WINDOWS, TO HIT
THE GROUND, AND SHOT THE ARROW OF DELIVERANCE OUT THE WINDOW...
2 Kings 13:17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he
shot. And he said, The arrow of the Lord's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt
smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
[18] And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the
ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
5. JOASH WAS NOT TAKING ME SERIOUS... NOW FOREVER THEY WILL HAVE PROBLEMS
WITH SYRIA
2 Kings 13:19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six
times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but
thrice.
6. JOASH HAD A PARTIAL DELIVERANCE AND HE SEEMED TO BE HAPPY WITH THAT...
WHAT ABOUT HIS KIDS?
CONCLUSION:
IF WE BRING DELIVERANCE TO THE JUDGE AND HAVE A TRIAL, WE CAN PROVE GOD
DELIVERS HIS PEOPLE.
