I SEE THE GOD BEHIND THE MAN...
A. DO WE UNDERSTAND PLUMMET?

determine the vertical on a upright surface, perpendicular...
B. A Plumb BOB is the mark of beginning a NEW WORK...
C. YOU MAY SEE A PLUMB BOB, IT IS MORE THAN THAT... IT IS THE BEGINNING OF
WHAT GOD CAN DO...
Zech. 4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall
see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord,

II. CAN WE SEE NOTHING? WHERE IS THE GOD OF ELIJAD? NO: WHERE ARE THE
ELIJAH'S OF GOD THAT CAN SEE BEYOND NOTHING...
WHAT DO YOU SEE IN DARK DAYS? PEOPLE WERE EATING DONKEY HEADS AND
PIGEON MANURE...
THE TIMES WERE EVIL AND DOOM AND GLOOM WAS ALL AROUND...
7 YEARS OF EXTREME DROUGHT... AHAB,THE KING, WAS MEAN AND CRUEL TO THE
PREACHER. JEZEBEL HAD MADE A VOW TO SEE THE MESSAGE AND THE PREACHER
DEATH SOON... WHAT DO YOU SEE IN DARK DAYS?
A. While King Ahab and Queen Jezebel were working in the flesh and trying to destroy God's man
and destroy God's message...
B. In the midst of total darkness and extreme DRYNESS the PREACHER HEARS RAIN?
CAN YOU SEE RAIN BEFORE THE RAIN?
1 Kings 18:41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound
of abundance of rain.
C. EVERY ONE SAW NOTHING...
1 Kings 18:43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up,
and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
D. WE HAVE A BIG PROBLEM IN THE CHURCH: PEOPLE SEE NOTHING...
1. 2 TIMES NOTHING...
2. 3 TIMES NOTHING...
3. 4 TIMES NOTHING...
4. 5 TIMES NOTHING...
5. 6 TIMES NOTHING ...
6. 7 TIMES NOTHING...
III. 7 TIMES NOTHING IS WHAT? MORE NOTHING? A GOOD BELIEVER CAN SEE
BEYOND THE NOTHING...
A. WELL MAYBE I CAN SEE SOMETHING? SOMETHING SMALL?
1 Kings 18:44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth
a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab,
Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
B. A SMALL CLOUD IS A BIG DREAM OF POTENTIAL...
1 Kings 18:45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with
clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
[46] And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before
Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
C. THE PREACHER RAN 18 MILES FASTER THAN THE KING'S BEST HORSES...
ELIJAH THE PREACH KNEW THE GOD... ELIJAH SAT ON THE PORCH AND WATCHED
THE NOTHING BECOME THE ABUNDANCE OF RAIN...
D. I ASK YOU: WHAT DO YOU SEE TODAY?
IV. I SEE THE ANSWER --- BUT THEN I EXPLAIN IT AWAY... THIS IS NOT LOGICAL...
A. LET'S TEST YOU BELIEVER... LET US SHOW YOU THE PROBLEM...
THE PROBLEM IS HUNGRY PEOPLE...
B. Jesus has the answer before he asks...
John 6:5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him,
he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
[6] And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
C. THE PREACHER SAW THE ANSWER? BUT HUMAN REASONING HINDERED...
John 6:9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes:
but what are they among so many?
D. JESUS REFUSES TO ALLOW THE FLESH TO STOP THE MIRACLE...
John 6:10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place.
So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. [
11] And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples,
and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they
would.
E. TWICE FULL, FULL STOMACHS AND FULL BASKETS...
[12] When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, t
hat nothing be lost.
F. WHAT MIRACLE WOULD JESUS DO FOR US TODAY?
The solution is before us...
V. GOD CALLS A MAN AND GIVES HIM GOD'S PLAN... THE QUESTION IS RATHER SIMPLE...
WHAT DO YOU HAVE?
A. 40 YEARS AGO MOSES TRIED TO DO THE WORK OF GOD IN THE FLESH...
REMEMBER HE KILLED THE EGYPTIAN?
B. His brothers said: ARE YOU GOING TO KILL US like you did yesterday?
Exodus 4:2 And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
C. WHAT DO YOU SEE? WHAT DO YOU HAVE? A ROD? USE WHAT YOU HAVE...
VI. WHAT DO YOU SEE: GOLIATH, FAMOUS CHAMPION:
6 CUBITS AND A SPAN: CUBIT IS 21 INCHES... HE WAS 10 1/2 FEET TALL...
DAVID WHAT DO YOU SEE? 5 STONES? WHY 5 STONES?
A. SURE DAVID SAW THE GIANT THAT PREACHED 40 DAYS, 2 X'S A DAY...
1 Samuel 17:40 And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the
brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in
his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.
B. DAVID, WHAT DID YOU SEE? THE OPPORTUNITY TO KILL GOLIATH AND HIS
4 BROTHERS...
C. If God can kill Goliath, God can handle every problem we face!
VII. GOD MADE DIVINE PROVISIONS...
SOME SAY THE PREACHER PROPHESIZED HIS BROOK DRIED UP?
A. ELIJAH, THE PREACHER HAS MAN THE KING AND QUEEN MAD AT HIM, THEY HAVE
KILLED PREACHERS...
B. THE PREACHER PRAYS TO DIE, BUT NOT AT THE HANDS OF JEZEBEL...
C. God has a plan, can you see the plan, RUN...
1 Kings 17:3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith,
that is before Jordan.
[4] And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to
feed thee there.
D.GOD TAKES CARE OF HIS MAN...
GOD DOES NOT WANT HIS MAN TO COMFORTABLE...
E. THE ONLY WAY TO MOVE YOU IS TO DRY OF YOUR CREEK...
1 Kings 17:7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had
been no rain in the land.
F. THIS RICH WIDOW? WHAT SHE HAS NOTHING?
1 Kings 17:12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of
meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may
go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
G. TRUST THE PLAN OF GOD...
1 Kings 17:13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me
thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
I. GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF US...
1 Kings 17:14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste,
neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
[15] And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house,
did eat many days.
CONCLUSION:
God needs you to see beyond the nothing of today...
See the small cloud?
1 Cor. 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;
and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
[28] And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea,
and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
[29] That no flesh should glory in his presence.
