#2 EUREKA THE CALL: MY APPROACH?

EUREKA:
I HAVE FOUND IT... I CLAIM IT...
I. HAVE YOU HEARD THE CALL?
A. MISSION:
TO BE SENT.
Assigned task to an individual or a group.
To have a purpose or plan.
An assignment.
B. THE BIBLE CALLS ALL BELIEVERS TO SOME KIND OF MISSION...
C. DREAM A NEW DREAM
Acts 16:9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia,
and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
[10] And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia,
assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
D. DO YOU KNOW YOUR MISSION?
Our enemy would love to keep hid your mission so that you will never fulfill God's plan for you.
E. What are you doing to prepare yourself wisely for YOUR MISSION?
F. WILL WE BE DEAF TO THE CALL?
II. WE HAVE A COMMISSION... A GREAT COMMISSION...
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth.
[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of
the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
[20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am
with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
III. WE HAVE MANY SPIRITUAL LONE RANGERS RUNNING AROUND LIKE A CHICKEN
WITH THEIR HEAD CUT OFF.
YOU CAN NEVER FULLY FULFILL GOD'S CALL ALONE.
A. THE GREAT PROPHET ELIJAH WAS VERY TIRED AND HE RAN UNTIL HE DROPPED.
ELIJAH HAD A DEPRESSION FIT...
1 Kings 19:14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: because the
children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets
with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
B. GOD REMINDED ELIJAH: HE WAS PART OF A TEAM...
1 Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not
bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
IV. WHAT APPROACH SHALL WE TAKE?
IN WHAT VIEW OF SELF WILL YOU INVEST?
WILL WE SUBMIT TO ACCOUNTIBILITY?
WILL WE GROW A TEAM THAT WILL ADVANCE THE WORK OF GOD'S KINGDOM?
A. JESUS CLEARLY DEFINES WHAT IT TAKES TO HAVE SUCCESSFUL MINISTRY.
B. By what STYLE or ACCEPTABLE NORM shall LEADERS FOLLOW.
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him
deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
[25] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my
sake shall find it.
1. WE FIND THE I SELF TO MINISTRY TO DOMAIN THE AMERICAN CHURCH.
WE FIND THE FIRST APPROACH TO THE FAMILY, THE CHURCH, AND SOCIETY TO
BE I SELF... THE MOTTO WOULD BE: WHAT CAN THIS DO FOR ME?
This would be diagramed as many little circles detached from each other.
A. I SELF is a western world typical view to the approach to MINISTRY.
This is the norm for the USA church.
B. I SELF must find SELF... WHO AM I...
I WILL LEARN WHO I REALLY AM BY MYSELF...
C. I SELF will be TOTALLY FOCUSED on INDIVIDUALISM and THINKING FOR MYSELF...
D. I SELF INDIVIDUALS are DEMANDING and desire their OWN WAY.
E. I SELF PEOPLE HAVE MANY TROPHIES of achievement and performance.
F. WE SEE THE LOVE OF AN INDEPENDENT SPIRIT OF MINIISTRY... MAVERICK
1. The minister refuses to be subject to authority.
2. Authority is view as an attempt to control.
3. I want to do my own thing, no one's opinion matters but mine.
4. Individuals refuse to align with duties/obligations...
5. Self-reliant, self-will, a REAL MAVERICK.
G. AS A WHOLE I SELF PEOPLE GIVE LITTLE, TAKE EXPECT OTHERS TO GIVE
TO THEM AND PLEASE THEIR PLAN.
H. I SELF people build weak relationships... I SELF PEOPLE TEND TO MAKE NO
CONNECTION TO THE GROUP... unless it benefits me...
J. I SELF PEOPLE seldom commit to long term work...
THEIR EXCUSE IS OFTEN HEARD...MY NEEDS ARE NOT BEING MET...
K. I SELF PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A BIGGER CROWD AND A BETTER
PROGRAM.
2. WE FIND THE SECOND METHOD OF MINISTRY WITH IN THE CHURCH TO BE
THE WE SELF CROWD.... THOSE INVOLVED IN WE SELF MINISTRY MOTTO
WOULD BE: IT IS ALL ABOUT US...
THE DIAGRAM OF THIS GROUP WOULD BE CIRCLLES ALL INTER-CONNECTED.
A. LIFE IS ALL ABOUT US... 2/3 OF THE WORLD OUT OF THE USA IS PROBABLY
GEARED TO THE WE SELF CROWD.
B. You need me... I need you... TOGETHER WE CAN ACCOMPLISH MORE.
WE SELF GROUPS WORK BY GIVE AND TAKE, COMPROMISE.
C. TEAM: Together Each Accomplishes More.
D. WE DEVELOP A LOVE FOR THE OTHERS and we nurture each others needs.
E. I can learn from you and you can teach me. We can cover each other's weakness.
F. THE WE SELF COMMUNITY IS AN IMPPROVEMENT OVER THE I SELF COMMUNITY.
G. We are all INTERGRATED, we combine as a whole, together we make each other complete.
We strife for unity, and we have interchangeable parts, we can cover for each other...
H. WE SELF GROUPS MAY TAKE MANY YEARS TO BECOME STRONG.
I. IT IS DIFFICUALT TO LEAVE A WE SELF CHURCH, we have adopted each other...
WHAT KIND OF GROUP WAS JESUS TEACHING AND DESSIRING TO DEVELOP?
I SELF? WE SELF?
NO! NO! NEVER... JESUS TAUGHT THE CHRIST SELF MINISTRY...
THE 3RD TYPE OF CHURCH MINISTRY IS --- THE CHRIST SELF...

Several circles below me... That I teach and guide...
A. JESUS TAUGHT US TO DENY SELF... TO CRUCIFY SELF...
B. REAL CHURCH IS NOT ABOUT I SELF NOR IS IT ABOUT WE SELF...
IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS...
C. WILL WE WORSHIP? WILL WE PRAISE GOD?
D.CHRIST SELF MINISTRY IS TOTALLY DEPENDENT ON GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT.
Philip. 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth
in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who
loved me, and gave himself for me.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
E. DO WE MODEL AND MENTOR CHRIST SELF CHUCH?
I WONDER WILL HE MAKE IT? --- CHRIST CENTERED: I WILL HELP HIM MAKE IT!!!
F. LET US GET REAL: WERE THE BIBLE HEROS --- I SELF? WE SELF?
OR WAS IT ALL ABOUT GOD?
G. ASK LOT... I SELF...
ASK ABRAHAM... IT WAS ALL ABOUT GOD...
Genesis 12:1 ow the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy
kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great;
and thou shalt be a blessing:
H. ASK JOSEPH --- WAS HIS SERVICE I SELF? WE SELF? OR GOD... ???
I. I am never alone... I AM NOT IN COMPETITION WITH YOU OR OTHERS... We can
not contend... this is not a contest...
WE TEND TO ASK GOD FOR SMALL THINGS... WHY NOT REACH LARGER THAN OUR
DREAM?
Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
[10] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him
that knocketh it shall be opened.
WHY NOT ASK, SEEK AND KNOCK FOR SOME BIG --- BIG THINGS...
ASK LARGELY...
PRAY UNAPOLOGETICALLY... MAY MY FAITH NOT HINDER GOD'S PLAN...
EUREKA? LET US FIND IT...
LET US DRAW A CONCLUSION:
LIFE AND MINISTRY IS BIGGER THAN ME, US... IT IS ALL ABOUT THE PRESENCE
OF GOD AND THE LEADERSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
CONSIDER THE ORBITS OF PLANETS...
Let us not debate whether PLUTO is a planet or not...
The lesson is that PLUTO IS THE OUTERMOST KNOW IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM....
PLUTO IS A GREAT DISTANCE FROM THE SUN...
PLUTO IS FREEZING COLD IT'S WHOLE ORBIT AROUND THE SUN...
The distance determines????
CONSIDER MERCURY... It is the planet nearest the sun...
MERCURY IS ALWAYS HOT... THE ORBIT KEEPS THE PLANNET NEAR THE SUN...
WHAT ABOUT YOUR PRESENCE WITH THE FATHER?
Are you far away? Are you close?
Life as we know it can not exist on the sun...
EARTH IS OUR HOME... I guess we are hot? we are cold?
The distance and the tilt of our planet determines the season...
CHRISTIAN MINISTRY IS BEST WHEN IT'S ORBIT KEEPS IT CLOSE TO THE SON.
HOW ABOUT YOU MY FRIEND... BUILD A CHRIST CENTERED... GOD PRESENCE
MINISTRY... GOD IS BIGGER THAN YOUR BOX...
